Great Location

Beautiful views of the Mississippi River, boats, birds, stars, Fall colors. Short drive to downtown Red Wing. Very much enjoyed the area and our stay at The Hager House.

Fishing trip

The place was absolutely beautiful, they had everything we needed for our trip! The host were absolutely great! We will definitely be staying there again when we go back to the area to fish! Very secluded and private but only minutes from town!

Beautiful River Front Stay

We loved our time at the Hager House. Great location for exploring the Red Wing area. The inside was comfortable and well appointed. The outside spaces and views of the river were fantastic. We would love to stay again.

Perfect quiet getaway

We came over the 4th to get away from the fireworks in our neighborhood; it was so quiet and peaceful here! The kids loved it; the bin of Legos in the closet saved us on a rainy afternoon!

Beautiful Home!

Beautiful home! We loved the landscaping and the outdoor seating overlooking the Mississippi River. The home was cozy and comfortable. It worked great for our large family! We can’t wait to come back again and maybe for an even longer stay!

Perfect place to stay for a get away

Lovely home, beautiful views

My family had a wonderful time at the Hager House. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch overlooking the river. Very easy check-in and out process with accommodating hosts. We also visited Red Wing which was a fast and easy drive. Would recommend if you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful get away!

Hager House

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Hager House. The rooms were very comfortable and the scenery along the river was beautiful. Our golden doodle was with us. He had plenty of room to stretch his legs and made friends with our host’s dog Rosie. We found Hager House convenient, relaxing and peaceful!

Beautiful property, wonderful hosts, perfect space for our girls weekend. We had such a fantastic time at the Hager House, we highly recommend this place for all types of travelers. Every interaction we had with our hosts (email, phone call, in person) was pleasant and enjoyable. A++

Beautiful views and great host

We really enjoyed staying at this beautiful property. Great hosts and of course we loved hanging out with their super friendly dog, Rosie . The only issue we ran into was finding any Ubers or Lyfts. There weren’t any rides available here or in Red Wing . So plan accordingly.

Very Nice

Very large basement all to yourself, walk out, roomy…clean, comfy beds. Quiet. Great location if you are fishing the Mississippi in that area. If you have a boat it’s a little difficult pulling into and turning around in driveway. Had some ants in the kitchen area but otherwise it was very clean. Will be staying again on our future fishing trips.

Home Away from Home

My wife and I drove 4 hours north to pick blueberries. Our real reward was a couple of nights at The Hager House. The blueberries were tiny, but the accommodations were terrific! There's a lot to see in the area, and Red Wing MN is only two and a half miles away. A person could easily spend several days there with all of its history. Looking forward to a fall return trip, sitting out on the patio with a cup of hot chocolate in the evening, watching the Mississippi River head for New Orleans.

Great stay at the Hager House!!!

I had a wonderful stay at the Hagar House! The four stars are a testament to the overall positive experience. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The location was fantastic, with great views of the river. The host was responsive and accommodating, making check-in and check-out a breeze. During our stay, we had the delightful company of the host's charming 5-year-old lab, Rosey, which was an added bonus while we savored the scenic view. The only factor that prevented me from awarding a flawless five-star rating was the fact that this is a downstairs apartment with the host residing above, and there were occasional sounds that carried through from their living space. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the area and would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

Listing states it sleeps 8. It sleeps 5. There are two bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a queen or king size bed. Bedroom 2 has a bunk bed and a futon. The bunk bed has a full mattress on the bottom and a single on the top. The futon is a full size mattress. There’s a roll out bed in a closet, not sure where that is supposed to go. On the plus side, the property is clean and has a beautiful view of the river. I gave the review 2 stars, because I believe the listing is wrong on how many it sleeps, Roll out beds and futons shouldn’t count unless disclosed in the listing. Full sized beds do not sleep 2 people. We had 5 people and someone had to sleep on the couch.

Fantastic, comfortable stay with beautiful views

I am originally from the area and came back to visit family with my husband and daughter. We had a fantastic stay. The Hager House is well appointed with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The view is amazing - the pictures do not do it justice! The Hager House sits above the river with beautiful views of the water and surrounding trees. It's a quick 5 min drive to Red Wing, 20 min to Ellsworth, and 50 min to Mpls/St. Paul International Airport. We went for walks every day in the surrounding area, which would be great for biking too. The timing was perfect for blooming lilacs. The kitchen is well stocked (the gas grill was a bonus!) and allowed us to cook at home (we even had family over for dinner) rather than going out. We grilled and ate lunch and dinner outside, enjoying the views. The Hager House had plenty of towels, linens, and numerous board games that kept us all entertained. Chris and Lenore are gracious hosts and responded to all our questions, but also gave us plenty of privacy. Their dog Rosie is incredibly sweet and friendly. We will be back!

Peaceful

My family and I loved this location. It was very peaceful and had a wonderful view. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was clean. It was 10 minutes to Redwing and about 25 to Treasure Island Casino. We had a little problem with Google and the owners addressed the problem immediately.

The Hager House is cleaned and disinfected after each guest. This includes wiping / disinfecting all touch surfaces - remote controls, push buttons, appliances, cabinet handles. We also run a whole house air exchanger plus a seperate air filtration system (MERV 13 rated) on a 24/7 basis to assure our guest have the best possible air quality during their stay at The Hager House.
