First time visit to Cabo

Our family went to Cabo over spring break to celebrate our daughter's upcoming high school graduation. Three years before we went with a large group 7 families to Costa Rica and stayed at an all inclusive resort. I bring this up because the all inclusive side of our stay was the only thing that was slightly disappointing. The way Pueblo Bonito is set up is that they basically present you with a bill at the end of your meal or day at the pool that you sign. I believe the primary reason they do it this way is to encourage you to tip your servers and reducing the resorts payroll. The other all inclusive we stayed at you basically just walked up to the bar/restaraunt and ordered your drink/meal and walked away when you were finished. We did tip at this resort, but were not confronted by this "pressure" every time we ate or drank. Now on to the good part. The servers were fantastic. We spent a couple of days at the beach at the sister resorts Rose/Blanca and the gentlemen that waited on us were literally running the beach all day long. Just about all of the employees I interacted were very friendly and helpful. I didn't find the concierge's very helpful. We spent about an hour making arrangements for a cabana at the Rose resort. When we showed up at the resort 3 days later they did no have a reservation for us and did not have a cabana available. I checked in with the concierge when we returned to make sure that we were not billed for the cabana and did not receive anything approaching an apology for the inconvenience we experienced. One other annoyance that we experience upon arrival is the immediate sales pitch on scheduling a time share sales pitch. It was surprising that multiple employees approached us claiming that they would get us the most perks if we booked the sales pitch through them. The Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach is built on the face of a cliff. The resort is large and there is a steep climb/decent between the various restaurants/pools/bars. The resort has carts to shuttle guests around which is nice, but not always convenient. We found that it was easiest just to walk once we got familiar with the layout of the resort. Our Presidential Suite was spacious and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of keeping it spotless. We really enjoyed our week in Cabo and had a great stay at Pueblo Bonito. All that being said, when we return in the future we will probably not stay there.
