Great experience!

Great place in the heart of downtown Hays. James was very accommodating, and the property is beautiful. The yard area was sublime, very well manicured with a great seating area. The loft seemed brand new, with everything we needed.

Perfect Halfway meeting spot.

My son lives in Colorado Springs and I live in Kansas City. Hays is a perfect halfway meeting spot for us. We were able to meet for the weekend and stay here. The Condo was very clean, updated and comfortable. The owner was very quick at responding to any questions that I had. Wonderful time!

Super cute place!!

My mom and I thought the place was immediately clean, decorated adorably, and had very comfy beds. They had everything you would possibly need to cook in the cute kitchen. It was quiet and we both got a great night sleep. It was in a very safe neighborhood and across the street from the Fire department. The outside sitting area was a huge plus. We will definitely stay again!

Girls weekend

Enjoyed our stay immensely. Girls weekend, enjoyed Rock Haven Spa. The food in Hays was excellent. Location of the VRBO was ideal and great family to work with. Definitely would recommend. We’ll be back

Excellent Family Road Trip Stopover

We were taking a cross-country road trip, with a family of 4 (2 parents, 2 year old, 9 year old), and this was an excellent stopover on our way. The rooms were excellent, and the location was great for family -- just a few blocks from the nearest playground. Check-in instructions were straightforward and easy to follow, and the rooms were clean and well organized. We really enjoyed our stay in Hays, and would highly recommend!

Cozy stop for the night

Great stop

We have stayed here twice now. Pretty great little stop for my family between Oklahoma and Colorado. Host is always quick to communicate! Will definitely be our hays stop from here on out.

Little Jem in Hays Kansas

We loved this place! Super updated, clean and perfectly decorated. We came to town to celebrate with our son on his birthday and this location was perfect for a family dinner away from home! Will be back if the occasion arises! Thank you!

Hidden Gem in Hays

This beautiful loft exceeded our expectations. We were looking for a place to stay overnight in Hays where my husband, teen son and me could stay comfortably. The loft has 2 bedrooms and was so neat and clean. We walked a quick 8 minutes to the downtown restaurant area. After traveling the entire day, the loft was a great retreat.

Perfect for what we needed!

Cute, clean and comfy!!! We enjoy shopping downtown and eating in. Kitchen had everything we needed by way of hardware- pots pans utensils etc- all very nice! I did not bring any spices to cook with, so we had to get creative with the “take out drawer”. Worked out great, use the Parmesan packets and the soy sauce packets for the potatoes and filets respectively! Loved the design of the place, and found a coffee table book written by an old professor of mine! Would 100% stay here again.

Great little loft!!

Super short visit to see our son in college for his birthday. Super clean and accurate listing. Adorable little enclosed private courtyard for guests. Everything you need for an overnight! We had to park in front and take the longer walk through the owners gated area because designated drive way has an immediate steep elevation and our car would bottom out. I’m sure owners would have accommodated us or let us use their area but we didn’t bother bc our stay was so short. Only other suggestion would be higher quality pillows and mattress, but none of the mentioned would keep us from booking again!

This property is super cute and cozy. Very clean, and stocked with any supplies you may need. It's a place one could stay for days on end and feel at home. Hassle free check-in and out. 100% recommend.

We are the Leiker's and we manage the Chestnut Loft. We are local to the Hays area, have a family farm south of Hays and operate a number of businesses. We love to travel the world and bring back many of those experiences to Hays

Varför värden valde detta boende

This property is situated near the start of Downtown Hays and has a lot curb appeal and history. The main house was constructed in 1948 by the local downtown jeweler. Since taking ownership in 2010, we have had on-going renovations and construction to restore the property and bring it to current codes. The house was featured in the regional Das Haus magazine in 2014 for it's unique renovations. In 2011 adjoining property was purchased and the lot expanded in late 2016. On Valentine's Day 2017, framing for what is now the Chestnut Loft began with construction finished by Nov 1, 2017. This property is one of the well known houses in Hays showcasing it's original Italian stained glass window, exaggerated chimney and bright red rounded front door. The loft building was built mirroring the original appearance of the main house and it utilized by travelers, executives, and families wanting all the comforts and conveniences of a Downtown Hays experience while having privacy, security, and tranquility.
