Bear Den Chalet sover bekvÀmt sex i sovrum, men rymmer upp till 6 andra gÀster pÄ mycket tjocka bekvÀma futons, inklusive en pÄ en andra vÄning landning, och tvÄ i den fÀrdiga kÀllaren dÀr bredbilds-TV Àr. SÀngklÀder, köks- och matredskap, Kabel-TV, kabelmodem för höghastighetsinternet och DVD, gör Bear Den Chalet till ett avkopplande hem hemifrÄn. SÀsongens frossa hÄlls ute med strÄlande golvvÀrme. Allt du behöver ha med dig Àr klÀder, mat, skidutrustning, vandringsutrustning eller fiskestÀnger.

Stigen upp Whiteface Mountain och Esther ligger bara nÄgra mil bort. We liked the property itself. Unfortunately we arrived to a water leak affecting two floors, as well as to no hot water and limited heat. Host Steve responded quickly to our report of these issues and offered us use of part of his home or a second, smaller property for the weekend. We had already "moved in" here and otherwise found neither other scenario was ideal so stayed put. House was well-supplied in some ways, not in others. Appreciated that there was not a lengthy "to do" list left by host for our departure, as there often can be at properties.

This home was beautiful! Very nice and extra clean! It was the perfect stay for all our guests as we got married on the top of Whiteface Mountain. We would highly recommend this home to all. We will be back for another stay in the winter months to ski. Perfect location for Whiteface Mountain. This home is also close to Keene and Lake Placid.

The place was absolutely gorgeous, the property manager was excellent to speak with. Everything was exactly as it is stated on listing. Conveniently located, quiet area. Cannot say enough about how clean and beautiful this house is. Stunning

Very convenient and quiet

This house is bigger than we expected and slept 8 of us very comfortably with plenty of room to spare. It had everything we needed and was well stocked with necessities (sheets, towels, tp, kitchen items, etc.) It was less than ten minutes to get to Whiteface Mountain, High Falls Gorge, the Flume Trails (our favorite place!) and the Highway up Whiteface Mountain. Check-in was flawless and we were all very comfortable here. I highly recommend this house, especially if you have a group of 8 or 10.

Fall Hiking

The house was great for our needs. We ate in each night in a lovely kitchen that had all the cooking intensils you needed. We hiked every day in Keene valley on some beautiful hikes with great Fall foliage. It was only 20 minutes away. The bedrooms were very comfortable. If there was any downside it was there were not Enough comfortable seating for 6 people. But then again there was an enormous Den TV and sofas. Loved the place.

Great stay in the ADK

My family and some friends came up for the WHOOP UCI World Cup in Lake Placid. The house is exactly as described, really close to both Mount Van Hovenberg, and downtown Lake Placid. We did not get a chance to use the sauna, but it was definitely a great extra to have on the property! We’dstay again!

A great getaway

Perfect for what we were looking for. Listing was very accurate. Very private and quiet. Short distance to lots of good stuff. The kayaks at the AWR were awesome! Such a nice quiet spot to paddle a bit.

Great Time

We stayed 3 night and there were 6 adults and 1 child (age 11). This was our second time staying at this property and don’t have anything bad to say. It is comfortable, with plenty of space for all of us, inside and outside. The fire pit is a huge plus. It is in a quiet location, yet only 10 min drive to Lake Placid/Mirror Lake area. We will definitely be staying here again. Thanks Steve

Quiet neighborhood. Great for walking, jogging, hiking, biking. Fishermans paradise. Close to Lake Placid.

The house was a great location for our needs, there was just a few things that could have been a little better
 There was 6 Of us that stayed here and there was only 3 washcloths in the whole place, we had to go purchase some. Also there was no garbage cans in the bathrooms, which we went out and purchased as well. The bbq grill was disgusting and needed to be cleaned before our use. Overall we enjoyed our stay

Relaxing, quiet home and central location for all we wanted to do!

Girls Weekend 2023 for group of four forty-somethings who all went to college together, who get together once a year to hike, relax and explore a new area while leaving the kids and husbands at home! I had trouble receiving email to check in but host (Steve) instantly helped when I called him and we arrived with no issues. Plenty of parking for 3 vehicles (that's all we had) but 6 could have easily fit! Great proximity to High Falls Gorge, the Flume Trails and a few others, and less that 10 miles to downtown Lake Placid and the Olympic Training mountain where we rode bobsled! Two of our friends went to the wild life refuge and met the host and had a lovely tour they enjoyed. House was nice and clean with exception of one cabinet that had pepper or spices spilled throughout bottom and the grill has seen better days (would not go over 300 degrees and right burner doesn't work) but toilets, showers, beds all perfectly clean. Host had detailed info in basement for the cleaners on how to maintain and extras of everything from cleaning supplies to garbage bags. Lovely fire pit and you can source wood from the neighbor to the left (when leaving the driveway) in about a 1 min walk. We did not use the sauna but looked at it, looked nice! There were extra fans which was nice but no A/C so I was thankful I brought an extra box fan with me. We opened windows at night but it was still 70 degrees one night since it is July! We all enjoyed the stay and would stay again!

Perfect trip!

The Bear Den Chalet was great. It is a good location if you don't want to be right in Lake Placid. It is a perfect spot for day trips to Lake Placid or even Burlington VT. Stunning views of Whiteface Mtn are viewable from the front yard. It is walking distance to some trails and kids enjoyed jumping into Flume Falls. We enjoyed games around a campfire at night and the sauna is an added bonus! Def would stay again.

Awesome Place...Great Location

Had an amazing weekend riding at Whiteface during the day and hanging out in Lake Placid in the afternoon/evenings. 2 minutes to the mountain and 10 minutes to town. Place was clean and well suited for 3 couples and a few children. Cant wait to go back again!!!

Whiteface/Lake Placid Holiday

This was such a great home for our family to be at for the winter holiday we had been planning! The location to Whiteface and Lake Placid was perfect and we felt very much “at home” when we arrived. The house was clean, warm and just right for the 6 of us. We’ll have Many great memories for life from our trip and Bear Den Chalet is a big part of those!

Wake up to birds singing

This is a beautiful house on a wooded lot. Great natural light. We roasted marshmallows in the fire pit and enjoyed the large spacious house. Many cool hikes nearby.

Overall a nice place to stay

Overall we had a great stay at this location. Very comfortable even with 10 adult family members. Good Location. Only problems we experienced, One, the main couch in the living room was broken. When you sat in it ,it seemed like you were sitting in a clam shell. The house rep. tried to put a piece of scrape wood underneath it. But it was still uncomfortable and awkward. It seemed like this broken couch had been like this for some time. Second, even though the house is listed for up to 10 people it only had dishes for 4. Kitchen equipment, like pots and pans, knives, spatula's, and silverware were for a smaller group. We had to go across the street to the KOA Campground to buy plastic bowls. Besides these few discomforts we had a nice time. JD
