Wonderful friendly welcome! Felt at home right away with a grand view.Do your major shopping in Nanaimo as groceries, shopping can be quite expensive.We so enjoyed ourselves and very likely we’ll make another visit in May or June.Allison is a fine and helpful community minded person.

Our stay exceeded our expectations in every way. The cottage met our every need, was super clean, and functional. (We cook most of our own meals, so if anything's not right, we notice pretty quickly.)Alison greeted us upon arrival, and then responded within a few minutes on one very minor request we had mid-stay.An amazing host, an amazing location, and an unforgettable stay. We can't wait to come back some day!

snug little cottage with a lovely view of the ocean and fantastic sunsets. The cottage is well equipped, has a comfortable bed and fully equipped kitchen. Hosts Alison and Kevin are very nice and interesting people. We enjoyed our stay and it will be our first choice for a return visit.

Cozy Sage cottage

Our stay at the Sage cottage was great!! Cottage is clean and comfortable and is way better than it appears in the pictures! We were pleasantly surprised, and will be trying to stay there again, on our next trip to Gabriola!

Gabriola Getaway

Alison was so friendly and helpful - it was a delight to get to know her. Sitting on the swing seat each night, facing the ocean, was truly relaxing. The kayaking around the coast and islets here is wonderful. We had a great week!

This one’s a keeper!

Our stay at Sage Cottage was excellent…all was as described. Alison was a gem with greeting us and giving us tips for things to do near by the cottage and on Gabriola. We ate next door at the Surf Lodge a coulpe times, which was handy. The sunsets 🌅 from the cottage porch were breathtaking. Highly recommend the vacation cottage!

Cute cottage

Landlord very nice and helpful, cottage is perfect for two. Everything you would need on a vacation. We did not use much of the available dishes etc as my sister lives on the Island and we spent most of our time at their place. I recommend the place for a fun time and views are amazing watching the ferry boats and water always relaxing.

The property was as advertised. Hosts were excellent, very helpful. The only small issue was locating the property once on the island. GPS requires an address complete with street number.

The property was exactly what we were looking for. So quiet and comfortable! Had all the amenities we needed. Weather was perfect and accomplished what I wanted to do and that was relax for a few days. On top of that Alison and Kevin were amazing hosts! Highly recommend this property! Lovely little cottage with a fabulous view!

Great location but needed some cleaning. Discussed the issues & sent photos to the owner and she advised it was a new cleaner and would bring it up with them. Hopefully, they get the housekeeping issues resolved as it was a great location! Beautiful sunsets!!

All details have been attended to and she knows that we have always prided ourselves on the cottage being spotless as noted in all of our previous reviews. Yes, the view is spectacular of the sunsets and yesterday morning 6 orca passing and playing right in front of Sage.

A lovely cottage! Great view!

Beautiful setting, clean, comfortable. The direct view of sunsets was magnificent. Quiet and peaceful. Owner quick to respond and helpful. Might add a few items: kitchen cooking dishes to use in oven, blow dryer, although the weather was warm and my very new ‘do’ did its own thing satisfactorily! 😉. Nothing very necessary was missing. Having WiFi is such a habit these days and expected everywhere, but I managed. I could not seem to lock the front window, sometimes a comfort for us ‘city folk’ used to battening down the hatches. Very much enjoyed my stay. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our time sitting in the swing watching all the boats and planes go by, listening to the crashing waves and all the birds. Handy having the restaurant and pub right next door (it's not noisy at bedtime, but we weren't there on a Friday or Saturday night). There isn't air conditioning, but there is an oscillating fan provided. The chest of drawers only has a single drawer for guest use - the rest are full of towels and extra bedding. The bed is on rollers, so sitting up in bed to read or have a coffee causes the bed to roll away from the wall. Alison is a very helpful host and easy to get ahold of onsite.

A fine hideout with view and easy access to the water's edge. Supremely comfortable cottage with all things necessary to either house-keep and not go anywhere or a fine launch pad to swim, hike, bike, pub-hop or restaurant explore.

Great Stay on Gabriola!

Had a great stay at this cabin, nice views of the water and amazing sunsets! It was convenient being next to the surf lodge, which has food/drinks, and a close drive in to the centre for groceries and the market. The cabin was well finished and suited the two of us perfectly!
