Wonderful Stay

My husband and I stayed to be closer to the venue for our daughter’s wedding. The house had everything a person could need. It was so clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The house is very comfortable and in a perfect location. We loved the porch looking over the lake. The owners were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. We’ve already made plans to visit again with our family this summer.

Relaxing getaway

We had a great time staying in this home. It was nice to have breakfast out back and watch the sunrise over the lake. The kitchen is well stocked. We explored the area and enjoyed relaxing in this home.

Adorable, well-appointed lakeside retreat

While are timing of a family visit to see our daughter at Clemson was unfortunate given Hurricane Helene (and power was out everywhere), our stay here was great. The cottage looks newly renovated, has great light and space, very nice bed and bathrooms, and a well-stocked kitchen. We would love to come back when we have better luck with the weather!!

Beautiful lake home

Beautiful welcoming home made it easy to relax. The steps with rails made it easy for all ages to get to the dock. We will definitely keep this property in mind for future lake stays!

This place is great!

My wife and three adult children stayed at the property for four nights. The place was spotless! The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. It was nice to have basic things, such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels, on site. Sixteen local relatives aged 7 through 80 showed up for dinner on the second day. The dining area, kitchen, and porch easily accomodated all of us. It also was nice to have stairs going down to the boat dock - many houses on the lake do not have stairs. The drive into Anderson and Clemson took about 15-20 minutes.

Spectacular lake house near Clemson and Anderson

Perfect place to celebrate my daughter’s college graduation! Wonderfully decorated, equipped with everything you could possibly need and full of spaces for gathering ! Host went above and beyond including returning an item I left behind. Would love to stay again!

Stay at the Lake

We were happy to have such a beautiful and functional house for our stay at Lake Hartwell . It was spacious and comfortable and was fully equipped with everything needed! The screened porch was our favorite with a view of the lake and many birds singing in the trees.

Clemson Getaway

The Bannister Cottage was a great getaway for our family coming into town to visit our Clemson freshman. The Cottage has a great view, looking down and out onto the peaceful lake. The cottage is just as the photos represent. The interior is light, cozy and clutter free. The kitchen is well stocked. Great dining options, as there is a 4 top kitchen dinette, a 6 top(or more) dining table and seating outside on a screened in porch. The cottage was down to the dust boards clean! I was very happy! The bedrooms are perfect with nice bedding and comfy mattresses. The master shower is spa like. We were very comfortable at the cottage for our weekend Clemson visit! (Clemson about 15-20min away)

Aside from the molded coffee left in the coffee maker and the food under the couch cushions the rest of the house was perfect for the occassion. Upon arrival, texts with pics were sent to owners with no response.

Great property! Even better than the pictures!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay during thanksgiving at this beautifully updated home. The owners did a great job at remodeling this property (we flip houses and have seen a lot of bad & good jobs). 7 of us slept at the house and my brother and his wife joined us for thanksgiving dinner- ample dining space for all of us! Every pot and pan or utensil you might need was available. We cooked thanksgiving dinner and enjoyed the lake. Definitely will return again. Owners were very quick to respond before our trip, and everything was so easy and renter friendly, we never had to contact the owner at all during our stay. Can’t wait to stay again! Thank you so much!

Beautiful Lake Front Getaway

My friends and I came up for homecoming at Clemson and decided to stay on Lake Hartwell. This was the absolute perfect place for us! The house was beautiful and perfectly clean and ready for our arrival. We loved hanging out on the dock and sitting out on the patio in the evenings. The hosts made sure our check in process was as easy as possible and had the house completely stocked with whatever you might need. If you find yourself looking for the perfect getaway on Lake Hartwell, I highly recommend this property!

Cozy cottage on the lake

This property is the cutest little cottage, tastefully decorated with everything you need, in house. Location is perfect for fishing tournaments at Greenpond Landing and event center. You can dock the boat and it's just a short ride by water so no waiting in line for the boat ramp. It's located in a quiet neighborhood. We felt very safe. The screened in back porch was our favorite spot in the early mornings watching the sunrise. The house was very clean and comfortable. The large dining table gave ample seating for us to have other anglers over for dinner. Having the washer and dryer helped us keep all of the stinky fishing clothes washed up and ready for the next day. IYKYK. We highly recommend this property!

Lakeside Retreat

Great place to get away! Super nice home all as described. Enjoyed the covered dock on the water. Would have used kayaks but it rained nonstop.

Robert & Alise Powell är värd

Robert and Ali reside in Greenville, SC. Neither are from Greenville but moved there because of Robert's job and a love of the upstate. Robert is from the Charlotte area and Ali is from Columbia. They met each other through mutual friends in Greenville and decided to not leave! Robert went to school at NC State University for undergraduate and Clemson for graduate school. Ali went to school for interior design -- hence the design of the house. Robert and Ali have two young children that keep them busy.

Robert and Ali love having friends down to the Bannister Cottage to entertain as well as spend as much time out on their boat as possible. Robert loves to slalom ski but doesn't have quite the time as he used to before kids. Robert and Ali realized to own the property, they would have to rent it out, what they did not realize was how much they would enjoy giving guests a great experience. They want to continually provide guests with a great experience and hope guests enjoy the lake as much as they do.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We bought this property because Ali and Robert both love the lake. This house was owned by Robert's Aunt and Uncle for 25 years. As a teenager, Robert grew up going to this house before there was even a house there! During the summer, Robert and his dad would go for a week every year and would slalom ski all day while enjoying the lake.

Robert then returned to going to the lake house when he was in graduate school at Clemson. It allowed Robert to do laundry and get away the stresses of graduate school. After that, Robert and Ali started going to the lake house. Ali and Robert enjoyed it for several years as even as their family grew with our two children. In 2018, Robert's Aunt and Uncle grew tired of maintaining the property from their primary residence two hours away and decided to sell. Robert and Ali jumped at the opportunity to buy the home and make it their own but the only way they could afford to own it is by renting it out to guests. It is the guests spending their hard earned money that allow us to own this home and for that we are so thankful to all that choose to stay with us.
