Stunning View!

We came to northern Minnesota for a family vacation, during peak season to see the changing of the leaves. My husband, our four children, and my sister with her husband, stayed a total of 5 nights. We were able to see northern lights during our stay and that was absolutely gorgeous as well. The driveway for us was not necessarily hard but I would advise other guests just to turn your traction control off. We had a Kia van and did it no problem. My sister and her husband had a four wheel drive Jeep and they definitely did not have issues. As long as you do the drive as recommended you should not have a problem! The view from the house was stunning and I will highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to stay in the area. We could not have asked for better weather during our stay the beginning of October.

Perfect family getaway!

When the listing says "unparalleled views", they are not exaggerating! It was a stunning weekend on the North Shore! The place was incredibly clean, and the kitchen was awesome! Communication with the host was great - super detailed information, and always promptly responded to any questions we had! I would book this trip again in heartbeat!

Perfect location and great view

This was our second stay in this house. Everything was perfect again! Plenty of space and decks with great views of Lake Superior. Near state parks and hiking. I've recommended to several friends planning vacations to the North Shore. Great communication with the owners too.

Family vacation

Everything regarding this property was perfect. The view from the house and decks were gorgeous. An open floor plan made it nice for our family of 7. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The beds were very comfortable. The close proximity to many outdoor activities made it convenient. I would book again if in the area.

Gorgeous views and space!

This home has stellar natural light, and stunning views of the lake. The rooms were all comfortable and clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed to enjoy a long weekend! Easy access to nearby hiking was also a huge plus.

What a view!!!!

This is a quite retreat for anyone looking to get away from the hustle of life. Beautiful view of Lake Superior, no neighbors, woodsy, clean, and well stocked. It is close to the Splitrock lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls, which we enjoyed very much. After a cold hike, warming up with the fireplace and coffee was just the ticket. I would recommend this place if you really want to relax.

Perfect Home Base for Our Special Weekend

My new husband and I and a few of our friends rented this place for our Wedding weekend on the gorgeous Minnesota North Shore. Let me just say the house and the views were absolutely breathtaking! It's very cozy and there was plenty of space for the 6 of us. The kitchen was great for cooking our own meals. The deck perfect for star gazing. We even saw the northern lights one night! It's conveniently located close to a number of great sightseeing locations and was honestly the perfect home base for us. We are happy to be home after a long weekend away but we definitely miss the lake views and the beautiful sunrises. I have no doubts we'll be back and will look to book Gull Rock Ridge on our next trip as well.

Labor Day Weekend

The house is beautiful. When we arrived, the house was very hot inside. We opened windows and used fans, which helped, but we had a couple elderly family members which didn’t do well with the house temperature and we all could have used air conditioning. There are mice digging under the flashing house at the edge of the main deck - the pole nearest the patio door. They have created quite a mess of chewed debris piled by the pole. The mice scamper across the deck mostly in the evening but we saw them during the daylight as well. The upstairs toilet seemed to be leaking from the back causing some standing water behind the toilet. We appreciated the lengthy and detailed communication before our arrival on directions and other information. That was very helpful.

Wonderful Retreat

Our family had a wonderful time! The open floor plan was perfect and we enjoyed all the seating at the table for our meals and games. The spacious bedrooms provided quiet retreat for us all. Our stay was very nice! comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, and a beautiful view! It was nice to have a highchair provided for our granddaughter as well. I was worried about the steep driveway but it did not pose a problem for either of our vehicles, an SUV and a sedan.

Driveway

4 wheel drives are highly recommended we got stuck in the driveway in our Chevy Equinox and had to call a tow truck. Ruts where pretty deep. Low to the ground vehicles not recommended. Home was beautiful and clean, decks provided a beautiful views. Property was well kept and had some great hiking experiences.

North Shore Family Trip

We usually stay at a hotel when we visit Duluth and Two Harbors, but for my 40th birthday I wanted to do something special with my husband and three boys (10, 8 and 2). Our VW Atlas SUV made it up the hill with no issues. The cabin looked exactly like the pictures and the views were amazing. The house was so clean and welcoming. The king bed was comfortable and we also used the new sofa bed. We used the multiple decks to view the lake, ships and the sunrise. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. I made french toast for breakfast and found an electric grill pan the next day, oops! After visiting the nearby state parks and beaches, we would sit and relax in the living room. There is a firepit onsite but we decided to visit the Split Rock State Park and had fun roasting hot dogs and making smores right next to the lake. The hosts had great communication. We made many happy memories during our stay and our planning on coming back again in the future!

Great Accomodations!

We loved our stay here. This home is truly beautiful and the view is extraordinary. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We explored the wonderful North Shore during the day, and cooked our meals in the well appointed kitchen during the evening. Then, of course, you can enjoy the food while gazing out at Lake Superior. Great home with a beautiful view!

A very well kept home with a wonderful view of Lake Superior. The home was clean and had everything we needed for the duration of our stay. Close to several adventurous places to explore, unique shopping, and delicious restaurants. A 5 star vacation for us!
