Villa Toucan är en härlig villa med tre sovrum med 2. 5 badrum inbäddat i en avskild vik 25 minuter från Liberias internationella flygplats. Havsutsikt, 1 minuters promenad till stranden, poolen och restaurangen. Du kan se och höra både havsvågorna och skrikande apor från denna villa!
Inom en kort bilresa finns det gott om möjligheter för alla aktiviteter som Costa Rica är känd för: vandring, fågelskådning, paddling, forsränning, rundvandring, sköldpaddaskådning, varm vårhoppning, apning med apor, djurliv, kaffeplantsturer, mountainbike, ridning och mer.

Villa ligger några steg från stranden i Bahia Pez Vela Resort intill Playa Octotal och 5 kilometer från Playa del Coco. Denna utväg är den ENDAST egenskapen på denna avskilda strand som har ett överflöd av lugn och ro. Denna villa är en av villorna till strandområdet (andra raden från stranden) så det är en enkel, mindre än en minut promenad till stranden, huvudpoolen och restaurangen. Du kan höra vågorna i Stilla havet och skratta av skrikande apor i de närliggande träden från detta fullt utrustade två nivå hem och se kolibrier kolla blommorna vi planterat just för dem. Du har också obegränsad tillgång till vårt lilla gated community två pooler, restaurang och kajaker. Anläggningen har trådlöst internet, tillgängligt från villan.

Vid lågvatten kan du gå till Playa Ocotal, som är en större strand och har några restauranger och hotell. Det är annars en snabb (5 km) bilresa till Playa Coco, som är en livlig stad med massor av vattensporter, restauranger och butiker. Det finns gott om aktiviteter nära villan inklusive dykning, fiske, snorkling, valskådning, fågelskådning och kapellturer. Du kan till och med få en massage på stranden.

Villa har ett vardagsrum, fullt kök och matplats, uteplats med grill och tre sovrum / 2. 5 bad. En BR har en king size-säng, privat badrum och utomhusbalkong. Det andra sovrummet är perfekt för en familj med barn eller bara barn som har 3 enkelsängar. Den tredje BR har en queen size-säng och fäll ut soffan (veckas i en stor dubbelsäng / liten dubbla). Vardagsrumssoffan veckas också in i en queen size-säng och vi har en luftmadrass som kan blåses upp för ytterligare en själ. Villa har också luftkonditionering, tvättmaskin och torktumlare, mikrovågsugn, DVD-spelare, trådlöst internet och diskmaskin.

Villa Toucan ligger inom 1. 5 timmars bilresa från tre vulkaner
(Tenorio, Miravalles och Ricon de la Vieja), flera nationella
parker (Palo Verde, Ricon de la Vieja, Tenorio, Santa Rosa,
Playa Grande) och dussintals dagsturaktiviteter inklusive
fågelskådning, kapellturer, fiske, ridning, forsränning, vandring, dykning och sköldpaddaskådning. De två Costa Rica
främsta turistmål: Arenal Volcano och
Monteverde Cloud Forest ligger en 2-3 timmars bilresa bort. Conciergen på Bahia Pez Vela kan ordna alla dessa utflykter och aktiviteter. Eller bara sitta på stranden, njuta av lugnet och lugnet, få en massage och göra ingenting. Vad som passar dig!

Beautiful private beach

Villa Tucan was just as described, spacious and comfortable for our family of five. The black sand beach was beautiful and right next to the pools. We loved it!

Beautiful beach

What a lovely vacation at Villa Toucan. Jackie and Cesar were very friendly and accommodating. The air conditioner broke and was replaced the same day. The owner of the property was also very prompt to respond to our inquiries. We used local taxis to get to Coco Beach for grocers and some meals. Walking is virtually impossible given the hills and heat. The location is extremely peaceful and we enjoyed sitting outside to bird watch. The beach truly was the highlight for us. We did some snorkeling and saw plenty of fish along the rocks that surrounded it. It was perfect for swimming and had a sandy bottom. This is our 4th time to Costa Rica, we love the local people who are so friendly.

A Hidden Gem

We rented Villa #6 in Pez Vela for a short stay in April 2023. We loved the Villa. It had everything we needed. The Kitchen was well stocked with all the things we needed to cook our own meals. Sitting outside at night was wonderful, the lush landscaping is full of tropical plants and trees. The beach is a short walk ( a block ). There is a pool that only the members or renters can use so it is quieter and more private. We ate at the restaurant by the pool. Their food was fabulous. If you like a challenging hike, you can walk from Pez Vela Beach to Ocotal Beach. We would surely rent there again. Side Note: this was during Easter week and all the local people flood the beaches, because Pez Vela is more private the beach was not overcrowded like the other beaches. And the sunsets are out of this world beautiful!

Christmas break in Costa Rica

We had an incredible stay in Ocatal. The location and villa were perfect for our needs traveling with our 3 adult daughters. Plenty of space, house was comfortable, kitchen well equipped, and the location to the beach/pools was ideal. Hope to come back someday.

Great time in Costa Rica

My wife and I had to cancel a family trip due to illness, so we decided to check out villas in Costa Rica on short notice.The owners were very quick to respond and took time to answer any questions we had , and gave us tips as well. Highly recommend the house the location and the on site restaurant !!. We will book again in the future.

Costa Roca Family Vacation

This villa was perfect for our family. The resort is down the road from Playa Coco where you can get groceries and any other supplies you might need. The house is well appointed and beds were comfortable. We had a large group, including a 4 year old and the proximity to the beach and pool was perfect.

Paradise in Costa Rica

First of all, we experienced such generous and thoughtful communication with Liz and Henry, who made our entire experience flawless and perfect. They gave us so much advice, which was invaluable as it was our first time to Costa Rica. Our family of 6 adults spent one week at Villa Toucan, which exceeded our expectations. The furniture and decor is comfortable with some updates. While we did think it could maybe have more chairs in the living room for the number of adults we had, there was plenty of space for us all to stretch out. The beds were all very comfortable (We slept so well!); there was a fabulous dining table and the kitchen had all the supplies we needed to make some wonderful meals. We were also grateful for an abundance of beach towels and a laundry room. The location of the townhouse for us was excellent, with close proximity to the beach and pool -- this made going to the ocean oh so easy! And the resort's restaurant (by the pool) is very good. We ate there for New Year's and thoroughly enjoyed it. The nearest town, Coco, is about a 12 minute drive away and had some excellent grocery stores and a fresh fish store, as well as numerous restaurants. We loved that we were in a quiet beach of our own, which was never over crowded. Everyone (residents, guests, staff and locals) was very friendly and we definitely feel we want to return again and again to Villa Toucan and its gorgeous location. This was by far one of our favorite vacations!

Beach and Quiet

There were six of us (3 adults and 3 kids) and we had a fantastic time...the kids were water logged at the end of four nights. The beach was quiet and the on-sight restaurant was good too...although I would recommend a trip to the bay over and Father Roosters. Lovely birds as well as Howler monkeys. We did a few day trips to parks and pottery - perhaps a little far but looking at the map, I don’t see a great alternative so would not slight it - about 60-90min drive one way. Although Playa Coco is right next door and all the food and entertainment amenities to boot. Would certainly recommend and hope to be back. Thx G

Very special place!

Wonderful stay at Villa #6! Very comfortable place with many options for larger groups. We were only 3, but it could easily sleep many more. Very close to the beach. Two great pools to use with advantages to both. Loved going kayaking. The food & service at the restaurant were both excellent, but I also recommend going to Roosters nearby. Enjoyed playing games outside in the back of the house & also at the bigger pool. Enjoyed watching the solar eclipse while we were there. A baby fox came by to visit us the last night. We saw monkeys & birds. There were papayas on the tree outside, but unfortunately they were not ripe yet. They can be cooked up when still green, but I didn't try that. If you go, there's a great taco stand in Coco by one of the grocery stores.

Fantastic vacation in this idyllic location -

Perfect 4 days in a beautiful, tucked away spot with a private beach, beautiful views, restaurant onsite but a short 10 minute drive to town that has everything you need. Villa is spacious and wonderfully equipped, beds very comfortable, nice outdoor patios to take in the views. Will definitely go back. Owner provided extensive information on the property. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful Stay at Villa Toucan

Our family of 4 had a great week at Villa Toucan. The description and images of the villa are very accurate. We enjoyed having coffee each morning on the outdoor patio and watching the birds and monkeys. We spent many days hanging out at the pool and going back and forth to the ocean. The beach is very private and the water calm. We did a lot of snorkeling along the edges of the beach/cove and saw a lot of very cool and colorful fish. The restaurant at the pool is an added bonus. The food and service is great, and the kids especially enjoyed the smoothies and ice cream. All in all, a great trip. Thanks for sharing Villa Toucan with us!

Excellent location amongst the group of villas!

Good location, good time! The restaurant on the site has the best service and best food within 15 Km (10 miles) Great, clean pools and wonderful proximity to the ocean! The unit was spacious and clean, but needs the plumbing; toilets, faucets, counter tops upgraded to 2018 standards. The office staff, pool and restaurant staff were exceptional. With the plumbing and other upgrades completed, I'd give a 5 star. Norm Mole PS For what I paid for the Toucan unit I could rent a brand new two bedroom, two bathroom unit 2 minutes away from Pez Vela for THREE MONTHS (no pool and not close to the ocean/beach .

The Villa exceeded our expectations!!

It was our first time in Costa Rica and we had several questions before our trip. The owners of our Villa were always very responsive to our questions and extremely helpful. We really enjoyed the location and office staff at Bahia Pez Vela. Ceasar and Jackie did an amazing job helping us with all of the tours we booked while we were there.

Great place to stay

I stayed at Villa Tucan for 5 nights on a girls getaway. It is a spacious 3 bedroom condo that is very close to the beach, pool and on site restaurant. The kitchen was well equipped, everything was clean and the decorations were cheerful. There is also plenty to do nearby. The condo is in a development called Playa Pez Vela which is in its own beautiful and secluded black sand cove. The snorkeling from the beach is fantastic and at low tide one can walk on the rocks and tide pools to the next cove over (Playa Ocotal). The waves in the cove are small and it is a great place to swim. Of course, the pool was refreshing and beautiful. We took a number of walks from the Villa where we saw Howler monkeys, colorful birds, scuttling crabs, iguanas and the biggest toad ever. The staff at the Playa Pez Vela was really helpful and responded immediately when we had an issue. The owners, Henry and Liz, are friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place as a base for travelling in this part of Costa Rica.

Perfect Paradise!

We spent 3 nights/4days at Villa Toucan. It was perfection!! Stunning quiet beach, very comfortable condo with everything we needed. We were a large group, but never felt crowded in this roomy, well appointed unit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And the owners, Elizabeth and Henry were super helpful with suggestions on what to do and see nearby. Would definitely recommend Villa Toucan to family and friends and look forward to another visit in the future!!

Great Stay at Villa Toucan

What a great condo in a wonderful spot! It's not a far drive from the Liberia airport and so easy to get to. The condo is spacious, clean, and well designed with everything you need. The condo is greatly situated; a 1 minute walk to eating, a beautiful pool (good for dipping or laps), and a gorgeous black sand beach. I went with a group of girlfriends of a week "away from it all" and I had an amazing time. It's close to the town of Coco and other great spots to eat or relax. The massages on the beach were amazing--price-wise and quality. We also ventured to a National Park with Tico Tours which was easy and very beautiful. I highly recommend this condo and the location can't be beat.

Lovely black sand beach with great swimming

Our family of 5 adults spent two weeks at the Villa Tucan over the holidays. The listing description was mostly accurate, and the property was very clean. Photos show the rooms exactly as they are; the villa is more spacious than the photos led us to expect. We appreciated having a washer and dryer in the unit. The owner intends to make some updates which will improve comfort and decor. The location is truly beautiful, on a tiny black sand bay with views of the gorgeous coastline to the north. The gardens are lovely and immaculately maintained. The owners are extremely responsive, and on-site management is very good. We love, love, loved the beach! Fabulous swimming. A lot of local families also walk in to use the beach during the day. The pools are really nice, not too crowded even at high season, and the on-site restaurant is a local favorite. If you want breakfast out, you'll need to drive to the Coco Coffee Company or another restaurant. Check the most recent TripAdvisor reviews for restaurants; there is a lot of turnover. Be aware that most reviews are raves no matter what the quality--people are having a good time here and no one is too critical. You will want a rental car. Parking is covered and at the door of the villa. The nearest town, Coco, is about 10 minutes away. Driving is very slow because of road conditions and a great amount of foot and bicycle traffic; other drivers are not aggressive during the day, but sometimes at night an impatient driver may pass you in a rush. We saw no accidents or other road problems during our two-week visit and did not feel that driving in Costa Rica is difficult or dangerous in any way. Coco is a small but lively beach town filled with tourists, expat Americans, and locals. Watch your step! There are no sidewalks, and most of the paved areas are uneven. Souvenir shops and bars abound. Supermarkets are well stocked and open 7 days a week. The new Diamante Eco-Adventure park in Matapalo, about 45 minutes to the south, just opened in December 2015. It will be a lot of fun when all the features are open. The zip lines are operating now and are spectacular. The owners have an extensive list of recommendations for activities, and many can be arranged through the office. Important: Check web sites before your trip, and bring a list of possible activities so you won't be at the mercy of the very slow Internet at the villa; it often quit working during our visit.

We live in Washington, D.C. where Liz works for the Justice Department as an environmental prosecutor and Henry brings beauty and joy to the world through his art and occasionally practices law from the house, and took care of our two child who are not adults, Hannah (25) and Jonah (23) as of early 2025.

We wanted a place that was secluded and relaxing but also had outdoor and cultural attractions nearby. The fact it's only 25 minutes from an international airport was also a big draw.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The resort is quiet, secluded and very relaxing. If you're looking for a party scene then this is not for you. But for families with kids and couples it's a wonderful place to just kick back. You can even get a massage on the beach while listening to breaking waves and howler monkeys. Walks around the area yield beautiful views and birdwatching.
