A great location to explore the Normandy coast. The cottage is very well equipped with lots of different spaces to sit and socialise. The indoor pool is perfect for times when the weather isn’t so great. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful.

Fabulous property and location

The kitchen had more cooking equipment, crockery and utensils than I'm used to seeing in a holiday home. The grounds were lovely, and the location was perfect for walking or driving to the beach every day. The hosts were charming and we felt our dog was very welcome in the house and grounds (often not the case in UK rentals).

Lovely stay!

Perfect location and house for our group of 7. Stayed 5 nights, enjoyed seeing the sights during the day and kids would play in the pool before dinner. Deck gets the sun all day and spent lots of time out there. Hosts were prompt and helpful with any questions and very discreet.

Great stay

The house was great for our family. The owners extremely welcoming and helpful. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you might need and then some.The pool was great especially for the kids after a day of visiting Normandy.

Good location

Sur ver mer was a great location for access to D Day sites. We drove and enjoyed the roads and routes through small villages and rolling fields.

Great place for a family and dog

Everything you ever wanted to have in a holiday home. The place is fully equipped, quiet and very conveniently located. Good restaurants nearby and a nice pool to relax after a day out. We would like to return.

Loved teo days

We had a nice two days. Got local food at the market... closes at 8pm local. Another, Small village market had most items anyone wants. Very nice bakery and Liquor store. Beach, bar, cafe in walking distance. Camper park nearby.(juno beach) A short drive to Bayeux, Caen, Castles, and Normandy invasion beaches and museums. We had a great time. Owner speaks pretty good english. Thanks Girard!

Lovely Home - Wonderful location

Lovely large house near all the D Day landing beaches. The hosts were very welcoming and explained everything about the house. The house had more outside space than we could use and plenty of table and chairs. We had an absolutely wonderful week.

Spacious place a short walk from the beach

Our group of 4 stayed here during the Normandy part of our France trip and it worked out very nicely. The hosts were very kind and helpful, the place was quite spacious and met our needs very well. It was chilly while we were there, so didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it was available. Groceries and restaurants were a short drive away. Very convenient to all the D-Day locations.

A great short stay

Spacious, well equipped kitchen and outside. The heated indoor swimming pool was a real bonus. Quiet and well located for d day landings and Bayeux. Some attention needed to the flow of water in bathrooms. The family really enjoyed themselves here.

Wonderful location in a quiet sleepy village

A great place to stay, the swimming pool was wonderful and we spent many happy hours in the games room in the evening. There’s so much living space and decking that there was plenty of room to spread out. The owners kindly supplied us with eggs and some drinks on the first day which was a lovely surprise. Would definitely recommend to others that are looking for a central, coastal located part of Normandy.

Everything it was said to be

Good comms right throughout the booking process and then met on arrival by Herve and his Wife, everything explained in perfect English and a nice welcome pack. The House was lovely and everything we needed and wanted from it, nothing was missing, the Fish and Chickens were fascinating to watch and the Dozen fresh eggs given to us were lovely. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending this place to anyone, easy to find and perfect location for the D Day Beaches.

Holiday 2023

The property was clean and in a good position. There were lots of places to sit and have a drink or eat a meal. We did cater for ourselves but found that there were not quite enough suitable baking tins. We also found the beds rather uncomfortable! Overall, we had a lovely time and the property was in just the right place for the places we wanted to visit.

Would give this 6 stars......

The house is a lovely blend of quaint French style with modern appliances and so much more. There are various areas to sit, sunbathe, dine or just admire the views of the sea. Three good size bedrooms, ample living/dining space, large bathroom (no toilet - this is separate)' a kitchen with almost every type of coffee maker, including a senseo, gadgets, dishwasher, fridge with separate freezer section and all the crockery, glasses and cutlery for double the number of guests. The French doors and shutters throughout the property create a good breeze, so we never felt it too hot or stuffy. The pool is underneath the house, so on the cloudy/rainy days it was a good option for our son. We also had our dog and the large garden with chickens at the back and the built up fish pond were an entertainment for all of us. There is also a large TV, set up with Netflix and various movie channels for us non-French speakers. What we appreciated most was the hospitality of Mr and Mdm Girard. Their welcome and guide of the property and then fresh eggs and vegetables, along with the welcome gifts was a truly lovely gesture and made us all feel welcome. We would highly recommend this property and the owners in this lovely accommodation and the village of ver sur mer.
