Great Views!!!

If you want beautiful views, this is the place. Plenty of parking. Nice big lot. Large rooms. Large bathroom on upper floor. Only downside was the clothes washer was not working for all 3 days. New one was on order.

Amazing location

This place is in the perfect spot if you want to get away from the business of Waikiki! The location is very beautiful! The host, Lance, was very friendly and accommodating! He was also very informative of the area.

Very nice place

The house was very clean. Nothing fancy, but has everything needed for a very enjoyable stay. The views are amazing and great snorkeling right off the steps. Lance is a very helpful host.

Relaxing getaway

We really enjoyed how peaceful our stay was. The view was amazing. It had everything we needed. It was close to all the places we wanted to go to. Lance and his son were great to work with. We had the best time.

Gorgeous location and peaceful stay

The check in process was really simple. We loved the location and the house. The rooms were spacious and the view from the living room and deck area is unbeatable. These is a small beach 5 houses down, it was perfect for our family. We would go back if we get the chance again.

Nice place to relax

This was a great place to stay with the family. The ocean is out the back door. It makes a great start to the morning to walk the beach and play in the water some. You can snorkel here too. It’s a nice quiet place to get away from the city and relax.

Backyard steps lead right to the water, recommend water shoes cause it is rocky but enjoyable! Beach just 3 houses away! House was clean and tidy and quite. Centrally located from major attractions! And 30 minutes from the airport!!! Has the basic essentials !!! Toa luau and climbworks zip lining was awesome

Amazing location

Lance’s spot is an amazing location. True to his description, it’s a basic beach house, met all of needs, and we enjoyed being there. Being literally steps from the ocean we watched the beautiful sunrises every morning, went for a morning swim and had breakfast on the deck. A quiet beach is a few minutes walk away, and it was great being in the heart of the North Shore for easy drives and exploring. Convenient to shopping. Lance was very nice and responsive to any questions we had. A short but enjoyable stay!

Great sunrise views

Everything went smoothly. House is as described. We primarily went to other other beaches rather than swimming in front of the house or at the nearest beach. We also went north to a waterfall,nearby for a mountain hike, as well as Honolulu for a luau and whale watching. We had a nice week.

Great few days!

We had a great time during our stay. My kids had a blast being able to walk right into the ocean! They snorkeled a lot and we even saw a turtle right outside! The sunrises and moonrises are incredible. Also, if you get a chance to visit the gallery downstairs, I highly suggest it! The artwork is stunning (some of which are hung around the house)! Lance was so easy to work with and very kind. There is noise from the road, but it didn't bother us much!

Highly recommend this quaint ocean front hideaway.

Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Accommodations were perfect for us and we enjoyed the air conditioning. Our family consists of my husband, myself, 19 yr old twins and a 17 yr old. We had plenty of room, place was very clean and Tish was just a text away if we had any questions or needed anything. We also thoroughly enjoyed visiting the art studio downstairs of her very talented husband. Location is away from busy southern touristy areas but close enough to be there in a short drive. It is only a mile or so from the Polynesian Culture Center. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing view

This home is an apartment over a retail store directly on the ocean. The view from the deck is amazing. Beautiful sunrises. There is no sandy beach but you can walk to one a few houses away. The furniture and interior finishes are a little dated and worn looking, but the house was clean and had everything we needed. House managers seemed nice and communication was good.

Nice property in a rural setting

This house was a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of other parts of the island, but a 10-20 minute drive from a lot of great beaches, parks and places for activity or groceries and simple restaurants and food trucks. We thought there would be a little bit of beach between the house and the ocean but the back of the property leterally steps into the ocean for snorkling. Although that was unexpected it was pretty cool and the nearest beach was a 1 minute walk. A bit of maintenance could be done to a few windows, AC units worked but were pretty loud, but manaageable. The beds were comfortable, and amenities sufficient. Overall a great stay.

concern with property

The property is a well-located older property of wood construction. I could not locate smoke detectors in the property so i purchased one at a local hardware store and kept in the property for protection.

Roomy and Beautiful Ocean view

The property is described accurately and is roomy for a family of 5 adults. The deck view is gorgeous and surrounding local beaches uncrowded. The drive into Waikiki is a good hour and can be a bit slow, but always nice to get back to quietness of Hauuala. Very reasonable golf course just 10 mins away on the ocean that kids enjoyed. Lance was very accommodating and communication was great. An observation, is a few more added simple comforts would make the stay more enjoyable. Deck chair padding covers, bedroom end table with lamp and newer refreshed beach towels. Overall we enjoyed our vacation and we found the this Simple Rural home comfortable and sufficient for our stay.

Great location for island stay

This was a great place for our family of 6 to stay. We were hoping to go out on the beach behind the house but the tide was too high. (this of course out of control of owners) The road is noisy, so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Other than that is was perfect! We really were only there to sleep and shower because we were all over the island. It seemed to be about an hour drive regardless the direction but that was expected. The place is surrounded by great places to eat. Lance and his wife stopped by just to make sure everything was ok and if we needed anything which was very nice. Over all a great place to sleep, shower, and plan for your next daily adventure!

Comfortable and great location!

Thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day’s stay. Five of us were very comfortably accommodated in the 3 bedrooms! Glad there were two bathrooms. We had two cars and both could park easily by the side of the Gallery ( beautiful paintings by Lance) in front of the house We were able to quickly access both North, East and South of Oahu. Place had a lovely deck and also yard next to seashore . Did not go swimming although it was right at our doorsteps as waves were choppy due to strong winds and the water was right up to the steps, during our entire stay (winter in Oahu?). Kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed eating breakfast in before heading out each day. We even made a crockpot stew one day - nice to come back to already cooked meal at end of day for dinner. Close by Tamura (local supermarket - better prices/they have beers and wines, and selections than Foodland). Was perfect for our visit and highly recommended away from the crowded touristic Waikiki.

A great place to unwind

Stayed here for a few days in early September, and it was a great place to stay to explore the north and northwest sides of the island. Convenient to several beaches, and the northwest beaches (like Sunset beach) are only about 20-25 minutes away. The house had a great deck for watching the sunrise and sitting out at night. There is a small beach area right off the back, but we were too busy going to other beaches to explore the reef right there, though we did see turtles from the deck. And having the ability to do laundry in the unit was a nice plus at the tail end of our trip. Lance was a great host and responded quickly to any issues we had. He has an art studio below the unit so was usually not too far away if we needed anything. The place is right on the main road that goes around the north side of the island, so you do have some road noise, especially in the back rooms. So that is just something to be aware of. Parking can be a bit tight, too. Fine for one car, but more than that might be a tight squeeze. Overall a great place that allows you to relax at the end of a day of exploring Oahu.

Location is outstanding. In my opinion this is one of the most beautiful parts of the island and on top of that it’s located very well to access both the north shore and Honolulu. This is an apartment over an art gallery. While it is ocean front there’s not much in the way of a beach at least while we were there. There are 4 bedrooms in all, one is not furnished which was fine for my family as we used it for a staging area for luggage and clothes.

This is exactly as described. One bathroom is a little smaller than pictured. Beach out front was amazing...swimming with sea turtles, sunrises and sunsets were spectacular, the sound of the waves with that ocean breeze. Straight up paradise and Lance and his wife were very helpful with any question or information. Definitely will be back....

My two children grew up here, spending their childhood playing on the beach and swimming in the ocean at the back yard of this property. We are available to provide you with local knowledge, and to ensure that you have a great stay.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

We have lived here since 1987, Hauula is where one can feel aloha (love from the heart). People are genuine. Neighbors always watch out for each other. The bonds are so tight. My dog, Abel, used to walk the beach freely (when there was no need for a leash), everyone knew him.

When we moved here, neighborhood boys, Dane and Drew delivered us cookies. My children became close friends with Drew who always took care of them. This is the kind of neighborhood we have. Drew now has his own family and still brings his family to visit his old neighbors once in a while.
