Njut av SML från vårt vackra, autentiska timmerhus med 3 sovrum och 3 badrum. Denna stuga var sakkunnig tillverkad, byggd på 1980-talet med vintage loggar cirka 1825. Även om konstruktionsmaterialet är nästan 200 år gammalt, har det alla moderna bekvämligheter inuti inklusive ny centralvärme och luftkonditionering, vackra trägolv och massiva trädörrar. Vi har en HD-TV med Blu Ray / DVD-spelare och massor av filmer, samt böcker, massor av spel och ett välfylldt kök. Ta med din baddräkt och massor av solkräm och dra nytta av den enorma, två nivå brygga. Bind din båt eller jet ski till kajen - eller utnyttja ägarna 3 kajaker, paddelbåt och flytande leksaker. Fisk, spela majshål (medföljande brädor), eller koppla av och läsa en bok vid kajen eller på det stora bakre däck vid huset. Grilla som en chef? Vi måste täckas. Känner du dig som en vandring? - gå vidare till SML State Park, bara 7 mil bort med bil. Beläget i en lugn vik som ligger bara några hundra meter från huvudkanalen (nära R27), är det här du hittar din R & R, med ro i sinnet att veta att du fortfarande är nära alla bekvämligheter du behöver - Med bil: Mat Lion ligger 7 miles away och Hales Ford Bridge är 7 miles. 40 minuter till Liberty University stadion och 1 timme 20 minuter till Lane Stadium i Blacksburg! Det blir helt enkelt inte bättre än Cabin Life on the Lake!

Grannskapet HOA har en båtlansering som ligger cirka 1 mil från huset. Nämnde vi att det finns två vingårdar inom 3 miles (Hickory Hill Winery och Ramulose Ridge Winery)?

En utflykt värd att nämna bara 44 mil från stugan, cirka 45 minuters bilresa, är McAfee Knob (på toppen av Catawba-berget), en av de trevligaste och mest natursköna dagsturerna på Appalachian Trail - Rekommenderas starkt!

Lake Vacay

Our family of 6 enjoyed our week at the cabin on the lake. The cabin is charming and met all of our expectations. We especially enjoyed the 2 level dock/boathouse in the quiet cove and the easy access to the main lake.

Cabin and Lake Life!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. Listing description is accurate, but the experience was even better than we could’ve imagined. Great location @SML with grocery only 10 minute trip and easy boating to everything the lake has to offer. Swimming off the dock is fantastic, and we enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat around the quiet cove. Grilling out on the deck and S’mores at the fire pit, hiking at the state park, and relaxing in the cozy, well-appointed cabin - love the rustic feel with all the modern amenities…we’ll be back!

Labor Day Getaway

Nice trip! The cabin was comfortable and cute. Plenty of room for us all. The walk to the lake was fairly short and the wide steps help a lot when you have bad knees! The dock was lovely with the refrigerator, chairs and a swing. We enjoyed being able to bring our pet! The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking tools, pots, pans and we didn't want for a thing! Thank you to our host for being communicative and informative -

Awesome property and location!

My family loved everything about this cabin. The cabin is very comfortable and equipped with everything you could need and the hosts have provided many extras including a well stocked kitchen, a hammock, corn hole boards, games, kayaks and paddle boat. The dock is a great addition that we were able to tie our boat to during our stay. The location on the lake is close to the main part of the lake but away from the busy boat traffic. The property is very wooded but has excellent path lighting to the dock and looks beautiful in the evening. The hosts where wonderful to work with and provided excellent communication throughout the entire renting process. We had the best time at SML and hope to return next summer to this same wonderful place!

Bucket List is a Treasure!

We had a great visit at Bucket List. The cabin, location and amenities are all exceptional. However probably the standout on this trip vs the 12+ others that we've done via rental was the responsiveness and attention to detail from you as owners. That's a difference maker in a crowded market. If we return to SML Bucket List will be our choice! Our objective was a combination retreat and recharge over the Memorial Day weekend. The cabin is a great piece of architecture and completely comfortable and outfitted with modern conveniences. The owners are exceptional as was the fishing directly from the dock which provides great access for kayaking (provided) or swimming. We strongly recommend Bucket List be added to your list.

Wonderful Cabin Stay

Truly an amazing getaway! Incredible stay in an authentic log cabin. The owners were fantastic to work with and very prompt on getting back to us with answers to our questions. The property is kept immaculate and is surrounded by trees that provide an incredible canopy of shade to help keep the cabin cool in the summer. An amazing double decker (docker?) with a neat bar area that allowed us to keep our drinks cold in the provided mini fridge. It also allowed us to store our life vests during our stay. We enjoyed the firepit during the evenings and made smores - which were a hit with our 2 grandsons. :) We loved having access to the paddle boat and 3 kayaks. And our 3 year old Golden Retriever loved the lake, as well. We couldn't keep her out of the water! :) The only thing that would have made the stay better was to have a boat so we could enjoy the entire lake. Next time, for sure!

This log cabin is legit

The workmanship of the cabin is very nice. It was built in the 1980s with reclaimed logs that are well over 100 years old. Really cool, but also very comfortable. The AC worked great. Appliances (dishwasher and oven) were maybe from the 1980s, but amazingly, they worked very well. There were good, sharp knives. The grill was decent and there was extra propane. There was adequate dishes, glasses, pots/pans, and silverware. We used the big iron skillet every day. The listing is slightly confusing/off. The BR listed with 2 queens has only one bed. There was a mattress in one of the closets, so we used that. The den listed with sleep sofa is the main family room. Beds were comfortable. No TVs in the bedrooms, but we actually brought one with a FireTV. The internet is good, with close to 100mbps down. The 3rd bathroom is in the basement with a separate entry. Not ideal, but it is convenient to the dock. There is also laundry in the basement which we put to good use. There are a lot of supplies in the dock shed, including kayaks, paddles, life jackets, floaties, and a small fridge. There is also a full size fridge in the basement that we used for drinks. We had an issue with dock repairs occurring during our stay. The owner did communicate with us to make sure it was ok. The company doing the repairs was very flaky, but the owner did everything he could to get them to finish. Some funds were refunded make up for the trouble and ownership was very apologetic. Overall, this is a nice place, in a very nice cove, with good ownership. I would recommend.

This was our first visit to SML. The house and property were just as advertised. We had a very relaxing week. The house had everything we needed for our stay, and the grocery store and restaurants were very easy to get to.

The Lane Cabin

The cabin is very comfortable and has a lot of charm. The location on the lake is excellent, the quiet cove is great sitting and swimming. By car it is easy (for the lake area) to get to the grocery and other stores.

Peace and Quiet

We had a wonderful stay at the lake cabin. We found the kitchen to be well appointed and the beds comfortable. We rented a boat and were able to enjoy cruises and fishing on the lake. We also hiked in SML State Park, played cornhole and visited the wineries. Our kids even did the "Polar Plunge" in the 52F lake water. Something for everyone. I am happy to say, I am the undisputed cribbage champion of the the vacation!

Perfect!

We booked this as a last minute option to celebrate NYE/New Year. What a wonderful property. Clean, well laid out, all amenities as described. We enjoyed everything - especially the views from the 2nd floor dock. Campfire each night, hike each morning (at the nearby State Park) and lots of relaxing in between. Highly recommend!!

Relax by the lake!

Perfect house for our family vacation (two adults & three kids). The house is in a great location, very quiet and comfortable. Lots to do outdoors, we boated, fished, kayak'd and hiked. We wanted to have a family vacation place for all extended family to use and gather. It had also been on our "Bucket List" to have a cabin retreat for weekend leisure....... so when we stumbled across this property, it was our dream come true! We hope you will enjoy all it has to offer as much as we have already in the short time we have owned it.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Great central location on the lake and in the area, near the State Park, near the main action on the lake, yet tucked just inside a quiet safe cove, and shopping is just a few miles away by car. Enjoy the quiet of the cabin in the beautifully wooded lot or stroll on down to the dock and hang out with family or friends for meals, socializing and water play!
