Kom och njut av vårt andra hem, Nantahala Haven, vid den vackra sjön Nantahala. Lake Nantahala är den näst högsta sjön öster om Mississippifloden och ligger i Nantahala National Forest på 3000 fot höjd. Dess vatten är kristallklart med flera vattenfall som hälls ut i sjön längs dess 33 mil miles kustlinje. Det är omgivet av Smokey Mountains och har en fantastisk utsikt över bergen. Den stora majoriteten av strandlinjen skyddas av Nantahala nationalskog och det finns bara cirka 100 sjöfronthem vid sjön Nantahala.

Lake Nantahala ligger cirka 2 timmars bilresa från Atlanta, GA eller Asheville, NC.

Lake Nantahala är en av södernas bästa fiskesjöar med Wallaye, Small and Largemouth Bass, Kokanee Salmon, Trout och andra typer av fiskar.

På grund av dess avlägsna plats är det aldrig trångt. Det finns inga hästkraftsbegränsningar för båtliv och två lokala marinor har alla typer av båtar att hyra. En offentlig båtramp ligger mindre än 1 mil från huset.

Nantahala Haven ligger i det gateda kvarteret i Nantahala Shores. Det är vid vattnet och ett av de få husen i Nantahala Shores som är byggt nära vattnet för att möjliggöra spektakulär utsikt över bergen och sjön under alla säsonger.

Nantahala Haven är ett 3 sovrum, 2 badrum hem som har en King size-säng i befälhavaren, med vardagsrum och kök med utsikt över sjön. Gäst sovrum och loft inkluderar drottning och två enkelsängar.

Nantahala Haven har en mild lutning till en privat brygga. Kajaker, flottörer och livvästar ingår. Det finns en gasgrill, eldstad och däck med utsikt över vattnet. Handdukar finns också för användning på vattnet. DirecTV och WiFi finns tillgängliga.

Förutom sjön inkluderar andra aktiviteter i närheten vandring (Appalachian och Bartram spår), mountainbike, forsränning eller öringfiske vid floden Nantahala. Vi ligger ungefär 90 minuter från Cherokee, NC, som är porten till Great Smokey Mountains National Park och även hemmet till Cherokee Casino.

Vi köpte detta hem 2018. Det var tidigare listat på VRBO i 10 år och hade en perfekt 17/17 5 * recensioner. VRBO-listor kan inte överföras till nya ägare men vi är övertygade om att du kommer att älska din vistelse och skulle välkomna dig att uppleva våra familjer favorit getaway vid sjön !!!

Family trip

We have visited Nantahala with a family group for over 40 years. This cabin was very nice and the hosts were very accommodating. It is not for anyone who has trouble with stairs, but we were informed about that and the steep driveway. Everything we need was supplied and the lake is gorgeous. Just bring food.

Stairs - Beware!

The view of the lake from the cabin is absolutely, one-hundred percent beautiful! We really enjoyed using the kayaks every day. It is so peaceful and calm there. That being said, there were a few negatives. Except for the one bed, all the rest of the beds were exceptionally hard, which made every night an uncomfortable night's sleep for most of us. Another important item to note is that there are 40 steep stairs to access the house from the driveway, and the driveway is also very steep. It is not wheelchair accessible and is very difficult for anyone not in good physical shape to manage. Finally, the WiFi is satellite and extremely slow.

Lovely Lake vacation for all ages!

This is our second time back to this fantastic house. We came with two small children and, while we had to be careful with the steep stairs down to the dock, I so appreciated all of the details that made it a great respite for our family. There were life jackets for all sizes, puzzles and games, comfortable beds, black-out shades, and even picture books in the kids' room. We had fun swimming and kayaking from the house, and also taking excursions to hikes and waterfalls. Thanks for a great stay!

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful week at the house! David and Casey checked in before our trip and made sure we arrived safely. Nantahala Lake is stunning and the kids had a great time exploring the property. We did a few hikes around the area and spent quite a bit of time kayaking and fishing out on the lake. The house was very clean and we didn't have too many issues with the WiFi. Would definitely recommend this property for a family vacation!

Wonderful time at Lake Nantahala over 4th of July

This is our 3rd year being at Lake Nantahala for the week of 4th of July, but our first time staying at Dave and Casey's place. Communication was great, Dave gave me a call the week before our arrival and went over the house, the access, the nuisances of the house and what to expect. The house was exactly what we expected per the description and pictures. We also received a welcome pack from Casey through VRBO with very detailed instructions, check out list and things to do in the area. The location on the lake is great, the house has a great view and it is 10 minutes closer to Andrews for groceries than the previous house we stayed in on Indian Lake Rd. Compared with other houses in this neighborhood, the view was totally clear of the lake (no trees blocking view) and the house sits down closer to the lake so there are fewer stairs in comparison to other houses in Nantahala Shores to get down to the water. Of note, there are a lot of stairs to carry luggage and groceries down to from the parking area to the front door. We are a family of 4 and there was plenty of room. We brought our boat and the dock was perfect for parking it. We spent a lot of time out on the water, the lake is our favorite place to vacation! The kids really enjoy rope swing island, the marina, fishing and cruising around on the boat on a tube or knee board. You can rent boats from Lakes's End Marina but book way in advance! Overall, we had a great vacation and the house had everything we needed! Thanks Dave and Casey!

Summer Vaca

Loved our stay at the Lake! Amazing views and great home for family get-away. House was just as advertised & owner very prompt with any questions we had. Does have a lot of stairs & steep driveway, but no more than expected for mountain house. Loved it so much, didn't want to leave!

Clean beautiful view

We enjoyed our stay but beware of zero cellular service. Have your ducks in a row prior to check-in. Save gate code and house codes in your phone or write them down somewhere. Bring your own DVDs as cable is limited. Great place to fish, hike and take in the beauty of the NC mountains. Loved the opportunity to unplug in this quiet, beautiful slice of God’s country.

Magical lake vacation

We had an absolutely splendid stay at this property. The owners gave us some great advice on local hikes and restaurants. The family loved the kayaks, and swimming off the dock was sublime. The house was extremely comfortable and was everything we needed. We are big cooks, and weren't lacking for anything in the kitchen. We are already talking about booking for next year!

A great getaway

We've stayed at many places on or near Nantahala Lake over the years and this property is our favorite. The home was clean, comfortable, well equipped and right on the lake. Our group of four adults and an active toddler had a wonderful time.

Relaxing Family Get-a-way!

The house was clean and spacious enough for 8. We were fortunate enough to bring our pontoon boat and leave docked at the house for whenever we wanted to go for an adventure ride on the lake. View of the lake from the house is wonderful to wake up to. View of surrounding mountains from the lake is spectacular. Driveway is steep so back down the driveway is my only advice.

great place at Nantahala

This is our second time at this property and it did not disappoint. House was clean with extra amenities (like towels) that we did not use, but appreciated none the less. Property is well kept and maintained. My husband loves the kitchen! Plenty of room to cook and move around. Access to the lake is one of the best we've ever had. We will be back.

Great escape!

The house was perfectly appointed for us (family of four plus grandparents) and we all enjoyed the escape. The owners were very helpful in the week leading up and during, and could not have been more helpful in making sure we had a great experience. That said, renters should note the very steep steps down to the house from the driveway and the less steep but still significant steps down from the house to the lake. We managed fine but would be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. We also did not realize that we would not have any phone service at the house (wifi provided email/text only). This is not a fault of the house, but a product of being in the mountains and I just was not familiar enough with the area to know. This made it hard for my husband and I to handle work items that week, and is something folks should consider if they plan/need to be available for work calls. Otherwise ... my kids cried when we left. A lovely time.

We are a family of 4 who love the great outdoors! Nantahala Haven is a dream come true for our family. We purchased as our second home in 2018 and have loved spending time on Lake Nantahala and the surrounding areas! We love to hike, mountain bike and fish. But the main reason we purchased this home is to spend time on one of the most beautiful lakes we've ever seen!

Lake Nantahala is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the country! Our home is one of the few homes in the gated community of Nantahala Shores that has year round big water views. Most other homes are built away from the water which allows trees to obstruct views during the late Spring through early Fall. Our home has big water views from the living room with easy/flat access from the home to a private dock. 180 degree mountain views abound from the dock and the best sunsets on the lake can be viewed with only a 1 minute kayak paddle from the dock. And the sunsets from the dock are very nice themselves!!!
Kayaks and life vests are provided with the rental.
