Helt ny lakefront stuga !!! Undvika livets kaos i denna mysiga stuga på den vackra Hohman sjön. Denna stuga med 1 sovrum ligger inbäddat på en 80 tunnland privat sjö och är en lugn tillflyktsort utanför den misshandlade vägen, men bara några minuter från staden. Det finns inga vattenskoter eller motorer över 5 hk tillåten på sjön, så det är otroligt tyst och lugnt. Med vacker utsikt, bra fiske, kajakpaddling och natur precis utanför dörren är du säker på att varva ner. Denna stuga ligger i utkanten av Shawnee National Forest där du kan hitta vandring, bergsklättring, vattenfall, mountainbike och annan friluftsliv. Om det inte är din kopp te, kan du dricka vin på södra Illinois världens berömda vinstigar eller prova lyckan på riverboatcasino bara 15 minuter bort. RABATTER ges för veckobokning.

Nice Little Getaway

The owner was always quick to respond. This was such a nice little getaway for my family! My son fished day and night and the kayaks were such a great addition to the stay! We utilized them daily!

Cozy little cabin with a beautiful location, very quiet and comfy. Some small issues with birdlife, several nests in ceiling of back porch with a lot of excrement around, but still thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would come back!

Best kept secret!!

We love this lake and we love this property!!!! The house is super clean!!! The hot tub with the view is worth the trip! We find it quiet and private when we visit.

Lake front getaway

Secluded

Enjoyed a very relaxing week on the lake. My only real complaint was the overgrowth of lily pads that skirted out 15 ft around the entire lake. This made it difficult to try and swim.

Beautiful Lakeside Cabin

This property was just what we needed. We took full advantage of the grill and hottub, had a fire going in the evening and got some fishing in too. Overall it was a pleasant experience!!

Beautiful place

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The cabin was perfect for the two of us and exactly the relaxing, peaceful getaway trip we were looking for. The last couple of miles back to the lake are a gravel road and quite rough so I wouldn't recommend driving a low profile vehicle on it but other than that, the cabin itself is very nice and stocked with everything you could possibly need. Check in and check out was extremely smooth and the owner was very accommodating when I asked to add an extra day to the booking. Highly recommend this place.

Great place to get away

We really enjoyed getting out on the water in the kayaks. The fire pit was already set up and the Smores jar was a really neat touch. The back porch with view of the lake was awesome. I would recommend adding Wifi. There is very limited cellular connectivity so it was hard to communicate with our family back home.

Peaceful, glamping trip

We enjoyed our short time at this peaceful cabin; we equated it to "glamping" and that was just fine for us. It is remote and secluded but not isolated. The cell service is spotty but not non-existent. The weather was a bit chilly so we didn't get to kayak but we did spend several evenings watching the sun go down on the dock. We also laid on the dock for some star gazing on a clear night. Saw some shooting stars and had fun guessing the constellations. It was so nice to hear the crickets, frogs, and owls sing.We did come across a few hiccups. I wanted to include these to give others a heads-up. When we wanted to grill dinner, no lighter was found on the property. (We reached out to the owners and got no response, not even the next day.) Thankfully, we had a spare lighter to help ignite the grill. We also did not know we needed to bring our own firewood; however we were surrounded by trees and were able to source some decently dry wood to make a bonfire. There was some lighter fluid provided that helped. Be sure to bring an old newspaper to start fire though. Gravel path to dock has seen better days. The unevenness made it tricky for us both. Helpful note: the grill is charcoal, not propane. The mattress is quite firm. Bring your own games and a book if the weather is inclement; Use your own password for streaming services. Portion of road leading to the property is gravel. Lastly, the coffee pot needs a good, deep, thorough cleaning. We were uncomfortable using it.

Relaxing

Cabin and views were beautiful! Hot tub was great after a long day. The kayaks were nice to use but please note that you get one adult and one child size kayak with your cabin. The cabin next door is owned by the same people so we borrowed their adult sized kayak. It ended up working out but some clarification on sizes in the description would be nice. :) We made a few fun day trips to the Paducah mall, the river walk & down town area, land between the lakes, and atomic city. I do recommend bringing a mattress topper if you do not like firm beds.

Perfect Getaway

We absolutely loved it here! We stayed early summer 2022 and it was a great way for us to relax and have a good time with one another. We took advantage of the kayaks and both loved it so much that we went out and bought kayaks for home! We really enjoyed having some bonfires and relaxing in the hot tub. Also, the visitor book was a cute idea! We would definitely go back. Only downfall was being so far away from town, but we were perfectly content with getting some groceries our first night and cooking for ourselves during our stay. Thank you for having us!
