My cousin and I, both 65, really enjoyed our stay at Casa Maria. It looks just like the pictures. The grounds are beautiful and the villa is adorable. The swimming pool is salt water and is very relaxing. The patio area was a place to sit and relax in the evening, but you would need mosquito repellent. The breeze and sound of the ocean waves were so peaceful and made for a good nightâs rest.
The bedrooms were very nice with their own mini-split (AC), ceiling fan, and a floor fan. It would get very cool in the bedrooms and we would end up turning the AC off before morning. The beds are comfortable.
Everything you need is at the villa. We bought a few groceries. The small town, Parrita, was only ten minutes away and has a grocery store with what we needed, Maxi Pali. We visited Jaco a few times and it was about an hour or less drive. It had plenty of shops, places to get adventure tickets, and many restaurants. Its beach was filled with lots of surfers.
We also went to Quespos which was about a half hour drive. Itâs a very pretty town and a beautiful parkway to view the beach. It also has a huge marina for fishing and boating tours. Manuel Antonio National Park is just up the mountain and a must see. The guides are great and would highly recommend getting one. You will see sloths, monkeys, iguanas of course, and beautiful vegetation. If you can get Eduardo as a guide, you will have the best. He has been doing this for twenty years and he knew when to start your video to watch the monkeys jump from palm to palm. Go in the morning to catch the animals. And the beach is absolutely amazing. The water is so beautiful. Make sure to pack your bathing suit to enjoy the beach after the tour.
Each day or evening when we returned to the villa, we could wind down by opening the doors and just listen to the ocean. It was the perfect ending each evening. Would definitely recommend a stay at the beautiful âyellow house.â â€ïž
