Loved it, will return!

Loved the pools and easy access to beach. Would have loved for the hot tub to up and running! Could have used more towels and wash cloths in bathrooms. But we will be returning, kids had a great time.

Fair priced

It's a little outdated and the wallpaper is peeling in places. Had to buy bulbs for the lamps (no overhead lights in bedrooms) and batteries for the thermostat. When we got there, the a/c wasnt working and it had actually frozen so it could not blow air. The property did get the a/c fixed pretty quickly once I contacted Vacasa via text. We went to the beach for a few hours and by the time we got back it was fixed. You get 2 rolls of toilet paper for each bathroom, nice Dove brand toiletries, and a handful of bath towels. It was just enough for our family of 3. This condo is not too far from the elevator which is convenient bc of the walk to the beach. Pools were great and the indoor pool was nice and warm, and not crowded each time we went. Great water pressure, but cod definitely use more cooking utensils. The balcony is where we spent most of our time and the high-top table outside was perfect for our little family to eat at sunset each night. We would consider renting again, simply because the price is great

Having the pool and beach close was probably the only nice part. Kitchen was missing things to cook. Our air conditioning was broken the whole trip and the place was 80 degrees the whole time. I tried communicating with people to get it fixed but no luck. I’m very disappointed.

This condo was not what I expected at all. It is in need of updates, everything was rusted and old. The bathrooms had paint peeling and rusted. The kitchen was not stocked at all, did not even have a spatula for eggs in the morning. The condo was not clean well when we walked in. Very disappointed in the unit it self. But the resort grounds , pool and beach were wonderful . And the Sassy Bass is a must try.

Almost 5 stars

This condo was clean (more to come on that) we loved the separate bedrooms with the living room in the middle. The kitchen was a great size and the balcony was nice too with entry off the main bedroom. The view of the ocean and the pools was perfect. We would definitely rent this condo again. I didn’t give the stay a 5 star because all of the electrical sockets were worn out and we couldn’t plug in our chargers everything ended up being plugged in on the one outlet that wasn’t worn out in the living room. As for the cleaning: the place was clean but the cleaner that was used to clean was very very strong so we had to air out the condo as best we could. The cleaning company also used the cleaner in the freezer so all the ice packs for coolers and the uncrustables we bought for the kids lunches ended up having that smell on it we had to throw a ton of stuff away. That was really disappointing.

Good but outdated

This condo had a great view and was the perfect size for my family. The only downfall was it is very outdated, some of the barstools were broke. Just really needs updated. Needs a new stove bad!! It took us ten times longer to cook anything because of it. Also, we had to buy a skillet because the condo didn't have one.

Very nice condo

Very clean, nicely decorated, & GREAT view from balcony!! It’s comfortable, quiet, & great for a family! I would add that the stove & microwave are older, & require more time when using them.

Fantastic view!

The condo was just perfect for a long weekend getaway. Magnificent views, a huge pool, perfectly kept grounds, a secure location and a very comfortable condo all made a great escape!! We’d go back!

Outdated and not clean

This property had drywall pieces cracking and falling on the floor, sand on the sheets and floors on the first day of arrival. The bathrooms are VERY small and not clean at all. I won’t ever stay at this location again. The beach and pool area was nice and clean, but this unit itself was not!

Don't get tricked like I did.

I didn't love anything about it really. Besides the fact that it was 20 miles to the closest can of beans or civilization your camera man is a real trickster he had it looking like it was decent size and that was a joke. Out of 3 beds a fold out bed and a sofa not a comfortable place to sleep nowhere. The master bed being the worst. After paying that price and then expected to sleep on what felt like a jail house cot that was Ike a spit in the face. I payed for 5 nights (first vacation I've ever took my family on) we left after 3.

Vacation May 2021

The condo was nice but very dated. Needs SERIOUS updating, painting, new furniture, appliances, cleaning. The stove worked but the eyes did not fit properly. Way too much furniture in the place. Not the owners fault, but the construction workers machinery 6am wake up calls were annoying. Men working on units on our floor late in to the evening. The location was good. Sadly, the ENTIRE 8 days we were there, the wind was blowing 50+ mph and double red beach flags. The sand stung our legs to the point of not being able to sit on the beach for long. Again, not the condos fault. The whole area is undergoing renovations and reconstruction from last years hurricanes. Over all, it served our basic needs. We had been to orange beach in 2014 and did not like it at all. That’s why we chose further down the quiet end. They have definitely grown in size and was much better this time. If we go again, we will book closer to town or on the main beach strip.

Needs to be updated and due to hurricane damage the only thing open was indoor pool which is understandable but should let the guest know before booking ! Noise after 7 from workers is to late !!! Very loud !!!!

Stay

The condo was nice enough, the construction was a con, but I understand there was a hurricane last year so it makes sense. We did not like how far out the plantation was from all the restaurants and activities in gulf shores. There were two wrecks on the main rd to gulf shores in the three days we were there that took us forever to get past. Which we also understand is not the owners of condos fault. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Dirty, Outdated and Broken!

We were very excited about the condo we chose for our family vacation. As soon as we walked into our unit, we were greatly disappointed. The walls had exposed drywall repairs, the dining room table was terribly oversized for the unit leaving little room to move about. The master bedroom headboard was about to fall off and pushed out from the wall. The baseboards were filthy. The kid’s room comforters were so stained they looked filthy as well. The sheets and bed skirts were in such disarray they looked slept in. Therefore I spent our first night in the laundry room spending MORE money on laundry for the bedding. The lampshades look like they came from the local dump site as they’re terribly stained and they were all askew not to mention some weren’t even plugged in. The balcony is so tiny and haD so many chairs in it that you can barely move around out there. There were no key cards in the unit for the fitness center or sauna and no wristbands for the indoor pool. There was no information in the unit for ways to contact management. The text message I received from vacasa told me I could respond to that message with any questions or concerns, I did that about the state of the room and again later about the access to the fitness center and got no response. This unit needs updating and it wouldn’t take much effort to make this unit look nice and comfortable for the families renting this space. The biggest concern though is the management and the cleaning service. We will not stay in this unit again!

Long term surprise

Our total stay for the winter months was Jan 15 - Apr 1; these comments reflect observations for that full period. The Vacasa organization did not seem prepared to handle the administrative nuances of long term (excess of two weeks) rental periods. The transfer of management of Plantation Dunes from Mandoki Hospitality Inc. to Vacasa prior to the 2018-19 winter (long term) season brought about several unexpected experiences. Most noticeable was the lack of a physical presence of Vacasa management on the premises. The Vacasa staff representatives in the office frequently were unable to handle basic questions such as "how was my rental rate calculated", "what about my reservation for next year", and could only offer an apologetic "call Vacasa" response. These have been key issues inasmuch as every problem situation seemed related to a "short term" rate and reservation system which did not accommodate a customary long term winter stay reservation process. Most frustrating was there was no Vacasa person available to provide "hands on" resolution to these inquiries. Operations, such as security and building & maintenance, were satisfactory. But some simple things were not handled well. For example, there were several weeks when the laundry service was unable to make full exchanges of linens and towels as scheduled. How does that happen week after week? A this time week have made reservations and deposits for two and one-half months of the 2019-20 winter season. Hopefully the experience will be more "welcoming" than this past year.
