The property was overall nice and allowed us to have a nice stay. It was very clean, tidy, and prepared well for our stay. It was very spacious and tasteful inside. There were ample appliances, cutlery, and dishes to do most cooking you might want to do. The beds were okay, not especially comfortable but not completely terrible. The washing machine worked well and there were even some washing pods provided.
However, though the property was well prepared and comfortable, there were some issues that would make me second guess going back again. Most of the negative comments in the reviews are pretty spot on. First, the driveway is terrible. Truly, I was happy I brought an AWD SUV. I don't know if a front wheel drive car would make it, especially in the rain and absolutely no way in snow. It's very steep, covered in loose gravel, and full of huge ruts. You'll definitely get an offroad experience. Aside from the driveway, the cell service and wifi are as bad as other reviews have stated, but it's to be expected in the mountains. You'll be able to very slowly send messages and maybe post some pictures over the wifi, but it's very slow. I had absolutely zero cell coverage in the cabin with Verizon. Of course, this is expected so it's not a terrible inconvenience personally.
The one issue I cannot get over is the hot tub room. It's in a small room connected to the rear of the cabin by a door near the dining area. The hot tub room smelled heavily of mildew to the point that we couldn't stand to be in there at all. Truly, it was awful. We didn't use the hot tub once for this reason. The hot tub room has a backdoor that leads outside, which is broken and doesn't seem to lock, which was a little disconcerting. It was a bit of a letdown, we chose a cabin with the additional fees that are included with a hot tub because we intended to use it. Aside from this, everything else could be forgiven.
Overall it's not a bad place to stay. I almost wished I had gotten a nice hotel in town instead, because you'll have to drive 20 minutes across very curvy roads to get to pigeon forge. Gatlinburg seemed to take about 35 minutes to get to the attractions you'll want to see.
I'd say it's good value for the size of the cabin. If you have a larger party and don't mind the inconveniences I've stated above, you'd enjoy this cabin.
They really should fix the driveway though.
