Truly Beautiful Place

It was a joy to pull into the Sanctuary at Wildrose after a 4-hour car ride. Marion welcomed us with such kindness and a beautiful place to stay.

Amazing stay

Marion was soooo great! We had so much fun, place was perfect! The horses were incredible. Breakfast was AMAZING! We would recommend eating at the Alcove for dinner about 10 minutes away!

Quiet and peaceful getaway

Great host, wonderful room, spacious, with lots of windows to watch the birds, butterflies, deer, etc. Relaxing getaway, exactly what we needed! Penny, the horse, was very sweet and friendly.

My husband and I enjoyed our two-night stay in this tastefully furnished suite. The bedroom and bath are exactly as pictured in the listing. Eleven--yes, eleven!--floor-to-ceiling windows make up three walls of the spacious vaulted-ceiling room. Easy chairs are thoughtfully situated for viewing nature with your morning coffee. We saw deer, many different kinds of birds, a funny, fat woodchuck, and a discreet cat. The location is peaceful and quiet. The king-sized bed was very comfortable, and we both rested well. The bath is large and luxurious with premium fixtures. We didn't use the spotless, deep soaking tub, but it was tempting! Marion was a gracious and attentive but unobtrusive host, answering texts immediately and making sure we had everything we needed. I was attending a conference at the university and had long hours. I wish I had been able to visit with Marion for a bit and hear her story, as I found her very intriguing! We would enjoy staying here again.

Amazing Hospitality

Marion is the best hostess! She made us feel welcome and at home. She went above-and-beyond to ensure my daughter was able to help with the horses. It was truly a treasure and I'm certain the memory with last a life-time!

Charming, beautiful room in a separate part of a house in a rural setting. 15 minutes from Kenyon College. Nice home owner making everything easy and comfortable! Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Marion's place for our son's Kenyon graduation. The room is spacious and comfortable with a huge bed, excellent views, and a bathroom that's fit for royalty. Marion is an excellent, friendly, and thoughtful host. I wish we had known about this property four years ago as it would have been our go-to lodging for visits to the area. However, we're glad we finally got the opportunity for such an ideal stay.

Serene Retreat

Simultaneously luxurious and rustic, Marion's little equine corner of the world is singular. The suite is well appointed and the ever changing pond view through the wall of windows would be difficult to tire of. A walk around the grounds to see the wide variety of avian life is recommended. Marion invited us to a meet and greet with four of her pretty horses and it was a swell party.

Beautiful and peaceful property

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Marion. The property is beautiful with window views to the trees and pond and to the amazing stars at night. The chairs and bed allowed such spectacular views of the stars and the property. We really enjoyed talking with Marion and sharing our joint love of nature.

Transformational Idyllic refuge from the quotidian

Marion is blessed with a phenomenal piece of property and keeps the place sparkling clean! She is a kind, thoughtful, considerate and generous host! Charlie (the cat) and Marion facilitate the most amazing getaway if you love nature, and the horses are warm and affectionate too. This is a very special place we look forward to returning to again to admire the seasonal change.

Awesome getaway!!

My girlfriend and I just spent this weekend here, can’t say enough good about it. Marion is a wonderful person and is a fantastic hostess who makes you feel right at home. The property is very private, quiet, and peaceful. The room is very nice, comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom (huge bathtub), lots of windows to enjoy the scenery. Marion brought us jars of sweet tasting well water, a nice breakfast and coffee each morning, and even sent me home with some catnip for the cat. Got to visit and pet the horses. If you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat, this is your place! You won’t want to leave

Very nice and accommodating host. The room was very comfortable and clean. We seen so many birds and the most amazing firefly show at night. The flower beds could use some weeding. We would love to return and stay again.
