The condo was everything that was advertised. The only thing that I would recommend for improvement would be some type of AC for the kitchen/living room area. That room would get warm in the afternoons, but there was the patio feet away from the ocean, so...

Great Ocean View; Turtle Highway

Fantastic view and location! We enjoyed the easy access to the ocean and snorkeling with turtles just steps (literally) from our lanai. Private island escape perfect for the three of us (me, my husband, and our adult son). Great location just north of the hustle and bustle of Kaanapli and only a short drive to Lahaina, and not too far from Honolua Bay and Kapalua for world-class snorkeling and golf. We would stay here again.

Awesome April Adventure

This place is fantastic and is just as shown in the listing. Sitting outside with the view gave so much entertainment - watching sea turtles, whales, crabs, fish, sunsets, clouds, rainbows, boats, surfers, and waves, waves, waves! Location was prime with a few things walking distance and beaches for walking/swimming/snorkeling and hiking both to the north and south just a few miles. Generally quiet and very private. Nice pool for cooling off. Kitchen had everything we needed. Host provided lots of ideas of places/things to do in the area.

Maui/Our favorite Island

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our condo was definitely ocean front. It is centrally located to some very good restaurants. The Sea House, (our favorite), Dollies Pub and Cafe, and The Gazebo are all within a very short drive away. The condo worked out very well for our group of 3 women. It was very clean upon our arrival. Beds were very comfortable. Having window ac in the bedrooms was a blessing. We all slept very comfortable at night. Laundry rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floor. Very clean and well maintained. 3rd floor has several washer and dryers. Quarters or credit card can be used, $1.75 for each. Worked for us.Lonnie is excellent to work with. This is our 2nd time renting through her management properties and I will rent from her again.Mahalo for a great stay Lonnie

Paradise revisited

Only 7 steps to the ocean, constant whales and turtles! The unit is a good size with 2 full bedrooms each with TV and 2 baths. Another plus is that each bedroom has air conditioners. It may be a good idea to newly stock the unit with a better abundance of linens,towels and definitely new pillows. Also the safe was not working...! However, I would not hesitate to stay here again in this private cottage on the ocean. The grounds were well maintained, clean pool and BBQ!

For people who love to experience the closeness of the ocean and the pounding waves, this is for you. We watched whales, turtles, surfers...everything that make Maui Magical. The condo complex is older but it is clean, quiet & within walking distance (1/2-1 mile) to shopping/groceries/dining. The unit could use some TLC (slow drains, doors that don't open)& the laundry on premises is coin-operated (no change machine) but other than that we were very happy with our stay at HOL119. Lonnie was very helpful when we first arrived. Would definitely recommend this unit.

Great Vacation!!

The location was perfect right on the seawall and watching and listening to the waves was our favorite pastime. There were a TON of turtles to watch as well as crabs in the morning. Super quiet complex and private setting back against the ocean with no one above. The beds were very comfortable and the unit was clean and updated. The AC in the bedrooms was nice for sleeping as the main living areas got warmed up in the afternoon from the sun. Sunsets were spectacular. Location was good for walking to the farmers market and a quick drive to Whalers Village or up to Maui Brewing, where we spent a couple of evenings enjoying the local beer, great selection and a must go to for beer lovers.

This is the standard by which we measure future Maui condos!

This is way overdue; just wanted to let the owners know we loved this condo! We are going back to Maui in April and this is the condo by which we measure all others. If this complex had a hot tub we would never stay anyplace else. (Note to owners - please upgrade the "bed" in the second "bedroom", it is really not tolerable!!) One caveat to visitors - please be cautious going into the ocean; we happened to go in when the tide was coming in (I guess), had to yell for help when we were getting beaten against the rocks and steps..I think the complexshould have better signeage. A visitor's guide for the guests would be really helpful. Bear in mind we are senior citizens, but we have spent many years snorkeling in Maui and Kaui, but it was a challenge, especially since there was nobody around (usually a wonderful thing!) Still, I have to say that this unit is a treasure, hate to share it!

Wonderful stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 5th stay in Maui and this was by far our favorite condo. The location is incredible. 119 is part of four small oceanfront condos. There is a great deal of privacy and the ocean is literally feet away. Daily visits by feeding turtles. When the tide is low you can walk downstairs and there is a small beach area. There is also a terrific reef right down the stairway for great snorkeling. Lots of fish, eels, and we even swam with a couple of turtles. The condo comfortably fit 6 of us though we didn’t spend much time in there. Finally - I can’t say enough about property manager Lonnie. She is so responsive and helpful. It’s not like that everywhere. Hale Ono Loa has a great communal feel to it. My family (including three young kids) felt so welcome. I would highly recommend!

Not What We Anticipated

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our contract reads 'manager will ensure all equipment is in good working order'. That was not the case with: the TV (power/tv/cable/channel buttons did not consistently work), the front door and lock needed WD40, lighting on the patio and front porch was non-existent, and louvered bedroom doors would hardly budge. Our A/C units were duct taped?? Master bath sink wouldn't drain. Curtain in front bedroom could use a rod or handle to open them.

Great Location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was a great location and very nice layout. The view of the whales jumping and turtles coming by was fantastic. We were happy with the condo, its amenities and location. Great privacy and quiet location. There were 3 things that made the stay less enjoyable. The condo was very dirty when we arrived, on the surface it was clean but you could tell it was not cleaned well, the floor along the baseboards and corners were not clean, the walls were splashed, the curtains were stained, we cleaned, vacuumed and washed the cupboards and walls. The vacuum was full and had not been dumped. The 2nd items was the curtains were shear in the front and the curtains in the bedrooms did not cover the windows and left light in. The 3rd was the lack of housekeeping while we were there, we were at the condo for 2 weeks with no change of linens or towels and were never told the condo did not have this options as we were in other rentals we stayed in over the years. When asked, the manager did generously offer a cleaning which was appreciated. I would recommend this property but make sure you arrange with management to have the condo cleaned if an extended stay.
