I rented the Sunshine Shack for a long weekend of introducing my 2 exchange students to one of my favorite parts of the USA. It was exactly what I expected: comfortable, clean, and easy to find. The kids enjoyed our evening campfire, playing pool, and Hedbandz. The nearby IGA was convenient for picking up the few items we forgot to bring. Tahquemenon Falls was an easy daytrip, as were Pictured Rocks and Marquette.

Perfect to come in, unpack and start enjoying your stay. Away from traffic but close enough to town to get things you need. Centrally located to many interesting things to visit.

Perfect setting with everything we needed. Loved the fruit trees and seating area out back. Great communication! The hosts were very accommodating and went out of their way to keep us comfortable when the Newberry area had an emergency power loss. Great job handling an unusual situation!

Our family had a great time staying at the sunshine shack! Lots of room, never felt like we were on top of each other. The basement game area was great for our teens and adults. Extra fridge in the garage made storing everyone’s food simple. The park across the street was great for the younger kids and a family game of kickball. Just one wish would be for a second bathroom but did not ruin our stay at all. We would definitely stay again!

UP trip

The house was an excellent location for visiting UP, and it was conveniently close to a town with a grocery store. A pool table in the basement was a plus. We played pickleball at the park across the street too.

Centrally located in Newberry for Eastern UP adventures, the Sunshine Shack was the perfect place to unwind after full days of fun. The house is like a home away from home with a fully stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and linens, games and comfortable beds. The home was clean, smelled fresh, and communication with the owners was quick and easy. Will be returning on our next UP adventure.

Three night stay with family, we loved the Sunshine Shack!

The Sunshine Shack is conveniently located near downtown Newberry. The house is very cozy and my kids loved the basement area with pool table and games. We had an issue with the refrigerator while there and the owners responded quickly and remedied the situation as fast and well as they could. They were very friendly. We loved the binder of restaurant and activity suggestions (Pizza Place was excellent, we also loved the ice cream at the raccoon store!) Huge empty garage if you need it and a big yard as well. If we ever come back to Newberry again we will be sure to stay here.

Set up nice!

Set up nice for snowmobiling. Really appreciated the use of the garage for our sleds. Plenty of parking for our trailers. House was clean and comfortable.

Newberry 2024

Very nice and clean with everything we needed for our stay. Perhaps update the television, but we really weren't there for that. Over all, there is plenty of room for our visit with family in the area.

As photographers, we don't like to leave our gear in the vehicle overnight, so we bring it inside. Having a garage to park our vehicle in made the process a non-issue. Definitely a bonus amenity! I hadn't bothered to make a hard copy of the directions to the property. Internet access is limited throughout a good part of the UP, so I could not access directions to The Sunshine Shack. I did locate contact information for the owners and was able to obtain the directions to the property. They were quick to respond and very helpful. The Sunshine Shack was perfect for our needs. We wanted to visit the Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls and the Soo Locks, and this property was the perfect staging area for accessing those locations. It was certainly spacious enough for the two of us and, with a fully furnished kitchen, enabled us to prepare meals onsite. The Wifi access worked perfectly, too. All in all, a wonderful experience!

Very clean home with lots of room!

We stayed this past weekend and had a good time here. The back yard was perfect for my 2 youngest kids to run and play, and great for bon fires...they even supplied wood! Great time, conveniently located.

We looked at about 25 different houses before we picked the "Shack." For us, loving a lot of outdoor activities, It was all about location and when we walked into the house we could instantly see it's potential.

Our home has a large basement with an area to put your riding gear plus a hangout area. (we are hoping to have a game table of some sort sometime this year yet) There is also a garage to store your toys in.
