Litet hus, mycket mysigt, inuti slottets väggar. I ett lugnt läge men inom gångavstånd från den livliga Raka gatan, där det finns rikligt kaféer, restauranger, typiska varor butiker och barer, där tjänar berömda Ginjinha d'Obidos.
Huset har två våningar och är utrustad med alla bekvämligheter, inklusive Wi-Fi-nätverk. I R / C är i köket och vardagsrummet med bäddsoffa för två och kabel-TV. På 1: a våningen finns två sovrum, ett med dubbelsäng och ett med två enkelsängar och ett badrum. Sängkläder och handdukar ingår.

Could not have been more perfect!

This spacious impeccably clean and fully equipped cottage is a perfect oasis located on a quiet side lane of Obidos, which during the day is crowded with tourists. The picturesque rental offers the perfect antidote to the daily crowds by providing a wonderful opportunity to experience the town before and after business hours, or offering a comfortable base to explore nearby towns and the surrounding countryside. It really is a home away from home and as soon as we entered the place we wished we were staying more than 1 night. The rental provided us with a most memorable stay, thank you Maria! One night stay inside the castle walls

Pleasant experience! Nice cottage. Only downside was the walk up the hill on the cobblestones pulling suitcases. But no broken wheels, so it was a success!

Loved it!

Perfect place to end our trip to Portugal on! Wish we had more time there. We were grateful to have the opportunity to experience Obidos at its quietest; and thankful the church bells do no begin ringing until 9 am. :) The beds were very comfortable and the cottage is very well appointed. A magical place- loved every minute!

Short stay

We had a great start. I mistakenly booked the wrong date and the host quickly accommodated. Unfortunately after our stay it was the complete opposite. The host has made false accusations albeit this is unclear because of the language differences and this is currently under investigation.

The host Gabriel is outstanding and very responsive as well gave us tips on parking. The charming and quaint cottage is inside Obidos castle. It’s a picturesque town and you can walk around and get spectacular views. We enjoyed the Capinha bakery especially their coconut orange and sweet potato raisin cookies. They bake delicious brioche bread as well. The Filligree museum was very interesting too.

Adorable home in beautiful walled town

Our host was extremely friendly and helpful, and patiently resent parking and arrival instructions after my VRBO app stopped working. The house was very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. Beds were comfortable. Location is quiet and pretty. We would stay here again.

Could not be better

The property was in a wonderful location and immaculate. Gabriela provided lovely amenities and was extraordinary in her communications. Never having been there, she anticipated many details for us including precise directions to this walled city and parking. Her welcome was truly warm! If going to Obidos, you definitely want to stay here!

Great location in a wonderful village

The owner, Gabriella is wonderful! She cares very much that her guests are happy. The home has everything you’d need and is charming. Obidos is a very old town and the home is also old, but fully functional. It has the fastest internet I’ve ever had in Europe! Lots of great places to eat and all within the walls. Two big grocery stores are a 10 minute walk away. Thank you Gabriella!

Lack of communication

Although the accommodation was beautiful and the location is very charming, the lack of communication from the homeowner made for a bad experience. From the beginning I asked if there was parking infront of the house because I had a relative with a disability coming in and I am aware that Obidos is filled with steep hills. I was told yes, however the parking was outside the town. We had to carry my 67 year old aunt inside the house. From my 5 years experience of renting through home away, as soon as I book the accommodation, the owner always sends me an email of what's expected to happen and house rules. They also tell me where they hide the keys so I can come in as late as I please. I did not get this with the homeowner I felt like I had to nag her for responses. Even then, she would tell me "let's take care of it later". While I was in Portugal, there was no communication until the day of. I had no internet so I did not receive any of the homeowner's messages. I texted her around 8:50pm letting her know I was going to have dinner and that I was 30 minutes away...to which her response was "you have until 10pm to retrieve your keys." I understand that her accommodation isn't a hotel, however I did purchase a night and didn't feel it was appropriate for me to have a curfew. This relationship was a business one, not a personal one where I am told when I should come in, especially 1 hour before. What would have happened if I hadn't texted her? In turn, I was not able to have dinner until 11pm, at a fast food burger joint. She also did not communicate with me that she needed to do a check in process...a legal requirement in Portugal that I never heard of before. Although the homeowner is very friendly and the house is beautiful, I would never book to stay here again and wouldn't recommend it to any of my friends.

Fantastic place to stay in Obidos! Great location, amazing host

A great place to stay, nice house, excellent location, easy access to all main attractions in Obidos. The host, Gabriela, warm, attentive, helpful, welcoming, kind. She made us feel as though we were home with long time friends. I will absolutely recommend staying at Casa da Travessa!

Awsome house in wonderful village! Everything as described and owner, Gabriela, was always available for tips and suggestions for activities. Our stay couldn't have been better and we would happily come back. Portugal is very friendly!

Poor Communication

We did not receive a message from Gabriela until 12:00pm the day of the rental and when I asked for directions to the property she did not provide them, even when I asked twice for the information over a span of the hours 1200-1500. We visited the tourist haven of Obidos and quickly left due to the hoards of tourist buses and crowds. We had a flight to catch back home the following morning so opted for another night stay at a hotel in Lisbon instead. I can't comment on the property however the communication from Gabriela was lacking the information we asked, namely the address so we could reach the location to check-in!!!

on est à l'aise

Une maison agréable en plein centre de Obidos. Si, en journée, on peut craindre la foule des touristes, on a la ville pour soi en matinée et fin de journée. Une occasion de retrouver la ville comme elle était. La maison est propre et la proprio super sympa! Il y a de la place pour 3 personnes. Accès en voiture possible, mais délicat vu l’étroitesse des ruelles.

Magnifique séjour

Ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt

Wir hatten einen ganz tollen Aufenthalt in Gabriela's Haus, welches ganz entzückend aussieht, deswegen machen auch täglich viele Touristen Fotos davon. Das Haus ist absolut zentral gelegen, ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir aber Gabriela's Gastfreundschaft! Sie war so lieb, uns bei unserer Ankunft an einem Treffpunkt abzuholen und uns zum Haus zu geleiten. Und bei jedem Anliegen war sie überaus hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Wir können die Casa da Travessa daher wärmstens empfehlen, um die auch bezaubernde mittelalterliche Stadt Obidos und dessen Umgebung zu erkunden. Gabriela wünschen alles Gute. Absolutly recomandable

We had a absolutly wunderful stay in Gabriela's house. The house looks so nice that a lit of tourists tool pictures of it :-) It is very cosy, everything needed is there, it is well located and Gabriela is the best host you can imagine. She is so friendly and helpful in every case. We absolutly recomand the casa da travessa for a stay in the beautiful city Obidos. Best wishes Frieder & Mandy from Germany

Jolie maisonnette

Jolie maison, propre, bien tenue et bien équipée pour un séjour à Obidos. Très bon rapport qualité/prix. Le village est l'un des plus pittoresques du Portugal avec son château-fort, son mur d'enceinte et ses maisons éclatantes de blancheur. Nous avons été accueillis avec chaleur par Gabriela, qui s'est avérée des plus serviable. Ses conseils et ses recommandations sur les restaurants, les lieux à visiter etc. nous ont été très utiles. Elle nous a notamment aidés, ma femmeet moi, à nous orienter dans les ruelles tortueuses du village et à trouver ou garer notre voiture. Elle m'a même donné un médicament pour un mauvais rhume attrapé au cours de notre voyage. Un gros merci à Gabriela. Ce fut, somme toute, une experience inoubliable. Dino G.

Small comfortable house in amazing medieval town

We highly recommend this comfortable house in the UNESCO town Obidos. It was very simple to book and pay for the accommodation. The host Gabriela is very kind, answered quickly to all e-mails and explained all needed details. She, visited us in front of the village and leaded to our house and parking place. The house is located in narrow extraordinarily beautiful street right in the center of town. At the same time the surrounding is quiet and safe. The house is covered with blooming bushes and flowers. We had welcoming wine and biscuits on the kitchen´s table. Gabriela shared us kindly all needed information about surrounding and activities. Th house is small but had enough space for our family of 4 adults. The living room and two bedrooms are tastefully decorated, very comfortable, romantic and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and consists all needed staff. The Obidos itself is one of the most beautiful towns we have ever seen. Also there are beautiful beaches very close by car. Lissabon and Sintra, Alcobaca, Tomar and Fatima are not far for one day trip. So we highly recommend the house and the town for longer stay.
