WOW... awesome experience!

Excellent facilities - 3.4 miles to wedding festivities - good food selection - loved having washer/dryer so we went home with clean clothes. Enjoyed our tour of the farm and all the natural products available. Highly recommend this property - Julie and Greg are wonderful hosts

Perfect weekend getaway

This was just what we needed for a quick weekend getaway. The property was peaceful & the house was well stocked with more than we could have asked for. We will definitely be back the next time we find ourselves out this way.

Amazing Hospitality

I didn't realize it was a bed and breakfast until we arrived which made the stay even more remarkable. Julie stayed in contact with us the whole time.. her and Greg were amazing host! Quiet peaceful area, they were very knowledgeable about surrounding locations. Absolutely loved every bit of our stay. Thank you!

Fabulous place to get away from it all!

This property is beautiful inside and out. Stunning garden views from all our windows. Apartment was spotless and had anything we could have forgotten. Great fresh breakfast as well. Thanks Julie for the garden tour! We hope to return very soon!

Idylic experience

Property is located such that many day exploration trips can be taken. Trips to historic, cultural and geographical sites are close by. New Orleans is two hours away and Baton Rouge 30 minutes. Property itself is set on 4 acres of peaceful wooded land. There are no city noises, just birds chirping and the breeze rustiling through the trees. Julie is the most wecoming, accomodating and generous host one could hope to have. She truly goes above and beyond to make her guests feel welcome and included. Not only providing scrumptious breakfasts but tours of her many ventures, including vegetable, herb, and flower gardens and a new chicken coop. If we get the chance we're going back.

Perfection!

This home is perfect for a beautiful, quiet stay. Hosts are very responsive and anticipate your every need. Home is immaculate and kitchen is fully stocked. We were so thankful for the fresh eggs, bacon, coffee and blueberry muffins that we got to enjoy for breakfast!

Peace and Quiet

This place was awesome!!! Though in a country setting amazingly and surprisingly not very far from city life. Julie was verrry nice. She suggested "Coffee call" for beignets, and it was a great choice, 20-minute drive. This place was very comfortable and clean. Quite a gem!!!

Pictures don’t do this justice.

We were so surprised at how wonderful this property is. Everything was so clean and cute. It was so much better than in the pictures. Julie was such a wonderful host! She made us feel very welcome and comfortable. She made us fresh baked goodies ms kept our bellies full with fruit and lots of breakfast options. We will not stay anywhere else when we come down to visit our grandbaby. I have nothing bad to say at all about our stay. It was perfect!

A wonderful week at Belle Terre!!

I echo the previous reviewers’ rave comments. Check in was easy. The on-site property owners/hosts were very friendly, helpful with knowledge of the area and super prompt with text communications before and during my visit. Host Julie went above and beyond with a tour of her garden and veggies, eggs and herbs for my cooking. The property was very clean and had anything a person could want or need, including the kitchen. I enjoyed sitting in the side garden and on the entrance patio for reading, coffee, conversation. Peace and comfort are fringe benefits from being at the farm. Stay here, or stay home!

Weekend Getaway

A beautiful place out in the country. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, the property was spotless and bigger than we anticipated, and the homemade and home grown extras put it over the top. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in the area.

A gem of a place

The pictures do not give this place justice. Nicely decorated with tons of personal touches. Quiet, private, spacious area. We really felt like home. The hostess is amazing, on property if need anything. We are definitely planning another trip to stay here again!

Awesome place and hosts

When we arrived she had been to the local store for her family . She bought us chicken salad and bread . So friendly and comfortable wish we had booked for longer . Really quiet but close to Baton Rouge if you’re attending a event there . Really enjoyed the tour of the farm too .

Owners Julie Doucet and Gregg Pettis dreamed of a place in the country where the hustle and bustle of the city can fade into crickets, fireflies, and a serenade by frogs. A particular dream was to have a more self-reliant life, producing their own food and having a more active lifestyle. While not completely finished, their dream of living the ultimate farm-to-table life is well on its way with a 5,500 square foot raised-bed garden, which is already productive. Belle Terre has one established colony of honey bees from which honey is harvested each July. The chicken "palace" is currently under construction. Soon to be added are other farm animals such as chickens, rabbits, and goats.

This property held so much promise for the vision that Julie and Gregg had of a sustainable, country life. While it took some work to get it from the 1,900 sq ft beginning to it's current spacious 4,000 sq ft accommodations, they have enjoyed making this place their own.
