Hyde House Rose Garden Bed & Breakfast Hocking Hills Ohio mellan Logan och Aten

Detta vackra nationalregister viktorianska hus (tidigare känt som The Mead House) byggdes 1882 och blev hem för Dr. Jerry Morris Hyde och Hyde Family-efterkommande i nästan 90 år. Ursprungligen byggd av Dr. JAG. P. Primrose för sin dotter Sarah och hennes nya man, den såldes till Dr. Hyde 1890. De två läkarna var vänner, grannar och även partner i flera Nelsonville fastighetsföretag. När den sista Hyde-nedstigningen gick bort 1977, blev huset en följd av bostäder, hyror och studenthem, tills det räddades och vackert restaurerades som en Bed & Breakfast av Michael och Sheila Mark 2006. Under 2009 blev Bed and Breakfast entreprenör och historia älskare Sue Maxwell ägare. Sue bar egen B & B tradition till 2016. Sue äger Primrose Bed & Breakfast tvärs över gatan. Hyde House gården har en stor omslag runt veranda med gott om sittande, gott om plats för avkoppling. Gården har en härlig matplats, vardagsrum, vardagsrum och fyra välutrustade sovrum och 4 1/2 badrum. Varje gäst kommer att ha ett bekvämt färgstarkt rum med eget badrum. Två sovrum har en tiger klo badkar. Endast 1 kvarter från Nelsonville Square och nära till Wayne National Forest och 18 minuter från Lake Hope State Park i Zaleski State Forest med miles av stigar för vandring och mountainbike. Den 120 hektar stora Lake Hope är perfekt för fiske, paddling, kajakpaddling, picknick och simning. Våra gäster kommer definitivt vill besöka Nelsonvilles historiska konstdistrikt med Stuart's operahus, Hocking College och Nelsonville Music Festival.

På Hyde House Bed & Breakfast är cyklister några miles bort från en av Ohio mest utmanande klättringar, Lick Run Hill, med sin dubbla sväng på 19%. ATV-entusiaster är bara några minuter från Dorr Run Trail Head med över 75 miles av utvalda spår för terrängfordon, bergscyklar och vandrare genom Wayne National Forest. Hyde House ligger 15 minuter väster om Aten och Ohio University och 15 minuter öster om Old Man's Cave. Clean and cute

Convenient location. Clean with a delicious breakfast. I loved the historic charm of the place. My only complaints are that the room was hot and the sheets were scratchy.

Fun weekend

Hocking Hills is such a great place to visit, and this BNB was just super. Breakfast was great, accommodations were just as advertised, and it was a super location in town.

Girl’s Trip

My daughter, and sister stayed at the Hyde House for one night before heading to Hocking Hills to hike. The Bed and Breakfast was clean, and quiet. Unfortunately, we were not able to stay for breakfast, as we got an early start to Hocking Hills the next morning. The breakfast smelled delicious, and the staff was courteous.

Great time with my cousin!!

I believe this little gem can become a diamond. Certain things you expect from a home built in the 1800's. The exterior needs sprucing, but the original beauty of the interior is there under several coats of paint. The home is clean and the breakfast was amazing. Rooms are small and quaint with many old rugs making it cozy. We chose the Mexican restaurant for dinner and it did not disappoint. I would stay there again.

Location is awesome 👍

We loved meeting the owner and staying in a historical house. The house was owned by my aunt's doctor and she has pictures of her as a child with him. It was very cool to stay there. Breakfast was amazing. Fuzzy is a great chef!

Wonderful overall experience. Unfortunate that we had to leave the house for breakfast during the week, but the food was delicious, and the staff friendly. Please check the accuracy of the hot tub temperature.

Romantic and fun

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Rose room for a night and had an excellent stay! The check in location was easy to find and the process painless! We ate at a recommended restaurant and had a great meal. The room was clean and the house was stunning. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and the chef was so sweet! The house is working walking distance to Main Street and so charming and historic. Would stay here again!!

Gateway to Hocking Hills Area

The property and owner were great, just as advertised. The location of the property was well suited to our purposes of exploring the area on a motorcycle. The property owner was also very helpful with helping us a figure out where to go in Athens to start the Windy 9 motorcycle routes. Would highly recommend this property, it was very quiet and a great place to relax after 200+ miles per day on a motorcycle.

Nice get-away weekend

The property was nice! Other guest were easy to converse with. Small problem with lack of communication with management and where we picked up the keys. Otherwise, all was good!

Short 1 night stay

The house was nice. I just wished that all of the beds were not firm. I chose a room with two beds, and both had very firm mattresses. Not everyone likes a firm mattress. I feel like if there were 2 beds, one should at least be a little less firm. I also think that the rugs in the bedroom need to be washed and cleaned well. It would also be nice to have a box of Kleenex in the room.

We had a very nice overall one-night stay here. The room was very clean and the breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed getting to know the cook /housekeeper at breakfast since all other seating was full with other guests. The person who checked us in at the store close by was helpful and pleasant. The hot tub was not working, like several other reviewers stated, and that was disappointing. I called the manager about it, as she offered for us to do if we had any trouble during our stay. Instead of returning my call to let me know we could use another property's hot tub, she messaged me through the VRBO app. I have those notifications on a scheduled summary once a day because it is usually non-urgent so I did not receive the message until we were leaving the next morning. Overall good, but don't book this room for the hot tub. It needs to be replaced or removed from the listing features.
