Vår Mountain Laurel Cottage ligger mellan städerna Cashiers och Glenville i västra North Carolina: s Great Smoky Mountains. Eftersom hemmet ligger på en höjd av 3800 ft, är våren och sommartemperaturerna svala och bekväma.

Dessutom är höstens frodiga bladverk särskilt spektakulära i denna del av USA. Detta charmiga, mysiga - och nyligen uppdaterade - hem är en perfekt tillflyktsort för människor som tycker om lugnet i sin privata miljö, men också vill vara nära livsmedelsbutiker, vackra vattenfall, bondemarknader, marinor, golfbanor, vandringsleder, antikaffärer och mer.

Det är faktiskt bara en kort fem minuters bilresa till centrala kassörer och bara 20 minuter till vackra Highlands, NC.

Vi köpte nyligen detta hem och har slutfört renoveringarna i köket, vardagsrummet och badrummen (för det mesta). Dessutom är bottenvåningen nu färdig. Vi arbetar fortfarande på spelrummet, tvättstugan, utanför däck och uteplats. och måste fortfarande lägga till några "finpussningar" (t.ex. gjutning).

Så för det mesta är huset redo att gå. Det är rent, bekvämt, och vi tycker att det är vackert. (Det blir ännu vackrare när allt är klart.)

Spectacular View - Lovely Home

We enjoyed several days in this comfortable and well appointed home. The lake and mountain views from the huge deck are gorgeous. The sunset is particularly lovely. Plenty of outdoor seating areas that have both covered and uncovered spaces, so no matter where the sun was, we found a cozy spot. The main floor’s huge windows allowed us to eat our meals inside when it was chilly and still feel we were outside. It’s very easy to access from Cashiers, but is in a quiet, private area. The owners are terrific communicators. We had a few questions which they answered immediately and graciously. We are definitely planning a return trip!

Cashiers/Lake Glenville Getaway

The home was cozy and welcoming. The outdoor deck areas were extremely well furnished for comfortable seating and fire ambiance. The views were amazing. Overall, we loved this home, and will consider returning.

Wonderful Home

It would be impossible to say too many great things about this property and its owners. Great views, Koi Pond and waterfall, two levels of attached covered decks, a lower garden like gravel seating area with fire pit and large umbrella, fireplace and fire pit on covered deck, audio/video, billiards room, recliners, indoor fireplace, etc., etc., etc. Everything you need for a totally enjoyable stay. Would Highly Recommend!

Beautiful home with amazing views!

We had a wonderful vacation at this beautiful home. It was clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. The outdoor spaces were our favorite spots - the hardest decision of the day was deciding between the lower and upper deck since both offer amazing views of the lake, mountains and beautiful landscaping of the property. The location was ideal for our activities - shopping in Cashiers and Highlands as well as golfing. We hope to stay in this home again on our next visit to NC!

Lake Glenville’s Best!

This was our second time at this lovely home, and we really love this location. Close to Cashiers and the perfect view! It was perfect for my 84 year old mother with easy access and bedroom on the main level. It is not listed as handicapped accessible, but I think it may qualify. Nice upgrade with the room AC units for the late afternoon when temps in the 80’s. Will stay here again.

Cashiers mountain home

Warm and cozy!

This place was welcoming, inviting, and perfect for a weekend sneakaway. Fire pits and fireplaces all over, and perfect views of Lake Glenville! As much as I want the lake to be a “secret”, everyone should go and visit.

Happiest New Year!!

Really enjoyed our stay in this cozy and comfortable home with a stunning view! Really liked the open floor plan since we did some cooking and watching of ball games. The dining table was really comfortable for meals and playing cards. Enjoyed the pool table downstairs! Weather was pretty cold so didn't use the outdoor spaces as much as we would have liked but hoping to be back in the spring. Conveniently close to Cashiers and had some fun there! Hosts were easily reachable and kind with answers to questions. A lovely stay, thank you!

Review of cabin of David and Mary Scarborough at Lake Glenville

We stayed at David and Mary's lake cabin over Thanksgiving and enjoyed it very much. The kitchen is well stocked with nice pots, pans, and cooking utensils and the stove/oven works very well. Very nice dishes and platters for our dinners. The view and decks are extremely nice. Very comfortable beds and nice bath and towels. You can tell they have furnished it with top rate items and furniture. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful Cabin with amazing view

This is a little slice of heaven with an unobstructed expansive view overlooking Lake Glenville and the surrounding mountains. There are many wonderful outdoor spaces, each one as beautiful as the last. A true North Carolina cabin, very comfortable and well equipped. Our second stay and we can't wait to go back.

Great Stay

Better than expected!

This property is so beautiful with the most amazing view of the lake. We did a girls trip and it was so accommodating for the four of us. it is a perfect place for three couples to enjoy. The pictures do not quite do it justice. There is an additional fireplace and seating area on the upper deck. The sound of the waterfall in the pond is so relaxing. You will not want to leave, I know we didn't!!

Fabulous lake view & lake view

Perfect mountain vacation spot. David (owner) was very accommodating with recommendations of things to do locally. House had all the amenities that we enjoyed especially feeding the Koi fish, fire pit overlooking lake, pool table and large outdoor deck space.

Mountain getaway with a view

The property was perfect for our long weekend getaway. The house was immaculate and the deck was exceptional with an outdoor fireplace and fire table. We spent hours on the deck visiting with friends and relaxing. If you are looking for a property with a great location, an awesome mountain view, and a home away from home, then this is where you want to stay.

We feel fortunate to have lived in many wonderful places throughout our individual and collectives lives - Michigan, Connecticut, DC, Maryland, South Carolina, Arizona, Germany, England and more.

And while we enjoyed them all, we fell in love with this area, and after spending summers here in NC and winters in AZ, we decided to pull up stakes in AZ and make this area our permanent home.

We purchased this beauty home in 2019 and are currently working hard to complete our renovations on this gem. We've accomplished a great deal already, but still have some cosmetic touches and to finish.

We are independent business & marketing consultants - as well as writers/authors with three published books - and as long as we have computers and an Internet connection, we’re in business! So, we get to sit on our porch, listen to music and laughter from folks enjoying their time on Lake Glenville, breathe in the cool mountain air, watch critters, and view the lush foliage that comes with our deciduous rain forests area. We are fortunate people!
