EXCEPTIONAL STAY!!! FIVE STARS!!!

My family and I stayed at this property from April 4th to April 12th and had a wonderful time! We were a group of eight people, seven adults and one child, but the house felt huge, with plenty of space for everyone. It was great that there was central air conditioning throughout the house. Almost every day, my 6-year-old enjoyed the pool and outdoor area. The best part was how close we were to the beach, just a block away. During the week, the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, but on weekends it was lively. We enjoyed eating at Annies Place, which is just feet from the beach/water and a 5-minute walk from the property. Thank you for hosting us. Rest assured that we will definitely be returning to Cabo Rojo and this gem of a property.

Close to the beach

The pros are: It’s really close to the beach, the beds are comfortable, it’s relatively clean, spacious house with breathtaking view, air conditioning throughout, nice gazebo. Cons: WiFi signal only works in the middle room, It was very difficult finding the property since GPS doesn’t accurately track.

Mid-week vacation

Beautiful property as described. Very clean inside and out. We didn't do any real cooking at the property, but kitchen looked nicely appointed. Beds and bathrooms were comfortable. We did experience a power failure during our stay and the new generator did not start up automatically. The host was quickly responsive to texts and helped us start it up. Overall, the property was perfect for our party of 4 adults and two teenagers.

Property was well equipped but the description doesn’t explain all what it had so we ended up buying extra things. Property was great but toilet got a water leak since day one and reported to owner. owner never responded back to our inquiries and concerned about the water leak unfortunately. Last evening power went out the property has a generator ( good thing) but, a small amount of power still was in the line so the generator did not turn on automatically so I had to reach out again to owner and no answer either. Owner answered at the time I already check out. Owner though mentioned to give me some kind of refund and that never happened either. VRBO studied the case and because i didn’t vacate the property they didn’t refund me one of 2 days I requested. We came from far away and no place to stay or move same day. Recommend VRBO to evaluate and update their rules as its inflexible and we were going to incur in extra costs, we rather dealt with the situation and request at least a relief but none of that happened. Overall, property is good, in good location but owner should be on top of his property and be more communicative or responsive.we were a party of 8.

The listing says you get check in information 3 days in advance but we didn’t get the information until the day of check in. Pros-The house was as pictured, in good condition and in a great location for beach access. The AC was ice cold and the beds were comfy. There was covered parking and the outdoor patio area and kitchen were very nice. There were spices in the kitchen and some basic toiletries in the bathrooms which was helpful. The layout was perfect and furniture was very nice. Cons- **There was no way to open/unlock the upstairs entrance from inside without keys. This is a safety hazard. I’d recommend adding a deadbolt latch on the inside of the door. The kitchen was not well stocked- mismatched silverware, one serving dish and did not have items that it was listed to have. We purchased some basic supplies such as glasses, bowls, beach towels, chairs & toys, and left them for future guests. There was an issue with the WiFi network not having data available. Having two people trying to work remotely this was an huge issue for us. We reached out on Friday and it took until Tuesday but the owner was able to correct the issue. There is a mobile home community right next door to the property that can get pretty loud on the weekends late into the night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The beach proximity was the selling point. The home was clean and fit our needs. While communication could have been better we would still recommend this property.

Great home for family

Great big property. The gazebo was a win for us as we traveled from Boston to the area to meet with family local to the area. AC in the entire home was another win! Think what lacked was no laundry soap, and no extra blankets/pillows. The grille just needs to be upgraded and needs grille aprópiate items like spatula’s etc. and that it’s not 50 steps from the beach, it’s down the street from the beach. Most importantly, the check in was simple and easy and the owners DID NOT send me a list of chores to do upon check out, which I truly appreciated. Book here, you’ll love how comfortable it is!

Lovely stay in a beautiful home

We loved our stay in Combate Beach! The house was lovely, the beds were comfy, and the property was beautiful. We especially loved the outside patio area! The neighborhood was vibrant on the weekend and calm and tranquil during the week.the host was very gracious when we got a little lost trying to find the property. Combate Beach was a short trip away and we loved the private beach down the road. Beautiful and charming place to stay. We stayed with our family, 8 of us ranging from 12-72 And all of us are extremely happy with this day. One of the nicest rentals we’ve ever stayed in.

LOVED this house!!

The house was clean, spacious, comfortable and clearly well-taken care of. It had all the amenities and items you would have in your own home!! My husband and I came from California to meet with my family, all of which live in San Juan, PR. It was a very special family gathering with my siblings. We had an outstanding time, went to local restaurants, to the beach, and completed the Exterra 10K event! All in all, an excellent choice!! If and when we come back to Cabo Rojo, PR, we will definitely come back to this place! Highly recommended!!!

Combate Beach Getaway

The rental home is a beautiful and spacious PR home. There is plenty of parking space for others to come and enjoy the beach and outdoor seating space. This was great for us as we are from this part of the island and our family came to visit us. The home is a short walk to a small private area on combate beach. It is also a short drive away from one of the main beach strips. The beds are comfortable and the home provided us with most of the items we needed. The ability to have a washer and dryer with kids was great! Some feedback to make this property a five star stay include to: provide bathing soap/shower gel. We also recommend updating the kitchen pots/pans and cooking utensils. The guest shower also was backed up so the water was not draining properly and you would shower and be in a tub of water at least past your ankles. The first bedroom AC was also not working so to get AC in the room, you needed to sleep with the door open; although a fan was provided. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and thank the host for the available property.

Best location in the Combate area!

We stayed for 3 nights at this location. Property was very clean, AC units in the entire house and walking distance to Combate beach. Also close to the famous restaurant Annie's Place and other tourist attractions. This house is big enough to accommodate large families. I highly recommend staying here if you are thinking if visiting Cabo Rojo.

Birthday and Family Reunion

An unforgettable return to my hometown. Celebrated my 70th birthday with a wonderful family reunion with uncles, cousins and younger generation. The family reunion was in the gazebo and lower portion of the property. The open space of the property was spectacular for the occasion. The facilities in the gazebo and bathroom downstairs were ideal. The facilities in the house upstairs were also awesome. Very confortable and with everything you would need. All in all I had one of my best days ever with the family reunion. I want to extend a special thanks to Angel for having such an excellent property and allowing me to have the family reunion downstairs. I totally recommend this property to anyone.

House and closeness to beach were great

The house and patio area were pretty darn good. Location to beach and food were great. It’s literally just the way to get to the house is a bit sketchy. We walked it every night we felt a bit scared it’s really hard to explain and it’s nothing the homeowner can do or is at fault for because everything he did was great! There was a great little convenience store up the road that had great breakfast sandwiches and snack food. I definitely recommend this house! Especially if you want a true feel of Puerto Rico!

Saludos.. Dia #1 - estuvimos sin luz y bregando el generador a las 1130 de la noche. Y no power utilizar el baño del master bedroom porque estaba liqueando el inodoro y la bañera tapada (no bajava el aua). Dia #2 - No luz la mayoria del Dia y tampoco uso del baño master. Dia #3 - La dueña nos llamo con actitud y exihiendono el porque no habiamos dejado las llaves para el handyman. Le preguntamos de que hablaba que no sabiamos nada. Ella despues nos exijio regresar a la casa y que nos apuremos porque el handyman estaba esperendo. Regresamos porque queriamos resolver el baño. Al fin, no se areglo el baño dejando solo un baño en la casa principal para 6 personas. Unacceptable!! Dia 4-7 Prometieron areglar el baño y no mantuvieron su palabla. Por lo siguiente, 2 de nuestros visitantes se fueron a un hotel por la inconveniencia. 6 personas para un baño fue inacceptable. No puedo creer que ella me haya dicho de que mi familia fuera a ilutilizar el baño de afuera para hacer sus necesidades!! Eso no fue todo. En el website dice de equipo de playa y no habia solo una silla rota. Desde nuestro primer dia estuvimos pidiendo ayuda y la dueña nos dio una lectura de agradecimiento como si nuestra estadia hubiesesido de gratis. El dueño prometio devolver Dinero y no lo hicieron. No regresaremos y nunca voy a referir a este lugar. Los dueños se comportaron mal en su servicios

Wonderful getaway

Our stay was great. We had 5 adults, and kids were 10 months, 2, 7 and 10. The walk to the beach’s was very an easy walk and kids loved the sea. The stay of 5 days was ver much needed.

Great spot!

This house is close to beautiful beaches and we enjoyed spending time in nearby Boqueron. It was difficult to find after dark but the owner was helpful when we called. Puerto Rico is an amazing island and this was a great home base to explore part of it.

The perfect gathering spot for our family.

My family coming from three States came together for a lovely family reunion. The beautiful house is very close to the beach and well appointed with everything we needed to spend a pre Christmas vacation. Everything was true to the description and the owner was responsive and courteous. Highly recommend!
