A beautiful spacious house in an amazing location. Very well equiped kitchen, comfortable bed. Immersed in nature, we watched bald eagles catching fish, seals playing in the cove and gave the Merlin app a good run. Phil's communcation was excellent, we had a wonderful stay and would love to return. ( Visiting from the UK)

Amazing, we loved absolutely everything about the property.Its scenic views, the proximity to Lunenburg, Peggy’s Cove.We saw deer from the kitchen window and seals every morning swimming in the bay.The property’s host was incredibly hospitable and friendly, we made memories to last a lifetime.Thank you

This is one of those magical places that are rare to find. The location and setting cannot be surpassed. Phil and family provide everything you will need to have a relaxing (and rejuvenating) experience. We were two couples traveling together. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. St Margaret’s Bay and surrounding area would make a good base for the southern half of the province.

This place was spectacular! If I could have stayed forever, I would have. A beautiful view, quiet space, and some wildlife to entertain you (we had visits from grey seals, goldfinch, and a bald eagle). You are going to think the road into the location is a bit extreme, but boy is it worth it! We were also blessed with a few beautiful sunrises. Book this place now. You won’t regret it!

Absolutely amazing views!! We were in love as soon as we looked out the back door! This is the place to get groceries and plan to just relax! There are 1-3 seals that like to hang out in the cove when low tide starts, and a good variety of birds to watch. We saw 2 deer as well. When the weather cooperates, the stars put on quite a show. Phil is a good communicator and really goes above and beyond to make you comfortable.The house is very well stocked with the essential kitchen items. A few things to note. You are about 20 minutes from any restaurants and they close earlier than we were expecting. Same thing with the grocery stores so get everything you need before you head down to the Island and you will have a great experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Red Roof. As you approach the property, the last kilometre of the gravel road is very bumpy, so take it slow. However, when you reach the property all is forgiven, as the view opens up beautifully before you. No matter where you sit inside or outside you have a spectacular view of the water, the shoreline rocks and the wildlife.The house is clean, comfortable and well stocked with provisions and conveniences, and our host Phil was very friendly and helpful. We had a quiet, relaxing stay and would not hesitate to return.

To reach the property you travel about a mile on a dirt road to reach a private road At the fork you’ll see a sign that says “private road” where you need to stay left and then travel another 4 tenths of a mile to reach the house. The home sits on a particularly beautiful piece of property (worth the dirt road) looking out at a magnificent vista of the bay and ocean (we watched a few seals playing/feeding near the rocks). The interior of the house is a mixed bag. It has a great amount of interior space but an unusual configuration of the only shower being on the first floor while all bedrooms are on the second floor (along with a half bath). There are four bedrooms with three of the bedrooms having platform beds with the top of the mattresses being no higher than approximately 18 inches above the floor (not great for old folks). Keep in mind that there is no tv, 10 per day charge for internet and a 10 charge for laundry to be done. All in all a very serviceable home with some of the best views imaginable.

AMAZING ocean view with incredible sunrises and so much entertainment watching the seals every day! The house was extremely comfortable and had a homey feeling, for our group of 4 adults!

Private Cove getaway

Beautiful secluded spot on the cove, amazing sunrises, great walking trails along the bay. Had a nice relaxing stay, and will hopefully be able to visit again.
