Good location but no A/C
The apartment itself is pretty nice. It has a grand piano and a good library. It’s in a very good location just off Place Garibaldi Square and the old town.
However, it was advertised on VRBO as having A/C, which was an absolute requirement for us in taking a VRBO in Nice in July, but when we got there it didn’t have A/C, just a bunch of fans. As a result, it was very uncomfortable in the flat most of the time. The proprietor, which seems to be a local real estate office, admitted it had been wrong in its posting and eventually agreed to a 25% refund, but only after a fair amount of haggling.
A few other nits: the couch in the living room is very small and doesn’t face the TV (we didn’t watch any, but someone might want to). The bedside lamps are flimsy plastic and kept falling apart. Cheapest possible I guess. The flat is in a big complex, the building is like a fortress and was difficult to navigate getting in when we arrived, what with gates, elevators in the basement parking garage, etc. we had to get help from a resident to get in the first time.
