Beautiful Quiet Spot

We loved it here! The online photos are great, but the actual experience was even better. Very clean, simple and nice. 20 minute drive to the city. Beautiful country atmosphere. Excellent communication from hosts. We would definitely stay here again.

A great Texas get away!

We enjoyed the lovely Stoney Porch Cabin in the Texas hill country. The cabin was very clean and had every thing that we needed for our home base as we explored the hill country. It was fun to come back to our cabin after a days outing. Dan and Kathi have an adorable, well appointed cabin.

Oasis in the Hill Country

With The Stoney Porch, Kathi & Dan have created an oasis in The Hill Country. We’ve loved this part of our great state our entire lives. The HC is full of rolling hills, clear streams, rich history, & unique flora and fauna. However, it has also seen tremendous & often unwelcomed growth that does not honor the land. On their property, Kathi and Dan have lovingly preserved the very best of this unique part of the world. The cabin is a sanctuary of privacy and comfort yet a short drive to many unique and special HC sites. Skillfully built with a beautiful eye for detail, it is immaculately clean and holds all the comforts of home. The back porch is a work of art, the views full of deer & a rich variety of birds. We travel with an appreciation and mind for Willie’s philosophy of “Seein’ things I may never see again” because in life, there is only so much time & money and SO many things to see. However, we are eagerly hoping to return to Kathi and Dan’s place. They are not only wonderful hosts, but stewards of this land we love so very much. You will absolutely be blessed by their kindness in sharing their lovely slice of the Texas Hill Country.

A beautiful hill country getaway

My husband and I had a wonderful time during a recent trip to the Texas hill country (and during an arctic blast!) Stoney Porch was a lovely, secluded cabin with excellent views and all the amenities you need! The owners are great communicators and will make you feel welcomed. Would definitely stay here again!

We've been here 5 times and have already booked for next year. A great hideaway location, great views, quiet and wildlife, only minutes from most all attractions. We will continue to come here. Dan and Kathie are the best host you'll ever find.

Peace and Beauty

Stoney Porch provides a peaceful setting to spend time with my wife and at the same time enjoy the beauty of nature. Overlooking a mainly dry creek where deer come in each night is breathtaking. Stoney Porch is captivating and demands repeat stays, this being our second this year with plans to book again in 2025. Dan and Kathi are the perfect hosts and we have been fortunate enough to meet and now consider them friends. Stoney Porch is a place to sit with God.

The Sweetest Stay

We loved our stay here, the owners are the sweetest and made sure we were happy with our stay. All the little details are thought out and taken care of. The whole place was decorated like a Hallmark Christmas movie, which stole my heart and made for a wonderful birthday surprise. Watching the deer and enjoying the views was wonderful. So peaceful. relaxing get away

Ron and I felt right at home when we arrived. Everything was quaint and relaxing = especially the little deck off the house. We would go out at the end of the day and relax and reflect. It was very private and tuck away just enough to give the feel of being out in wilderness; and once in a while we got to enjoy a deer and sound of coyotes in the distance.

Could not have been better!

We stayed here for 3 nights and didn't want to leave! The pictures don't do it justice. The peace and tranquility every morning having coffee on the porch and in the "lookout" is unbeatable. Beautifully maintained property and extremely clean. Thank you so much Kathi and Dan for making a fun trip for my cousins wedding even better,!

Perfect Location for a Weekend Getaway

Kathi and Dan have thought of everything! My husband and I booked Stoney Porch as a landing place for a wedding we were attending. We had the opportunity to extend our stay and loved every moment. Stoney Porch is centrally located to many activities from San Antonio to New Braunfels and beyond. The cabin was incredibly clean, comfortable, and well equipped for two adults. The porches and lookouts invite you to experience the woods in a beautiful way. Check out the deer and native birds. It all comes together at Stoney Porch for a magical stay!

Kathi and I celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary in May of 2019.
We met in college (Trinity University, San Antonio, Tx) and began our life together traveling through much of the world; worked together in a number of different ventures; and have truly enjoyed opening and administering to The Stoney Porch guest house on our property in the Texas Hill Country.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Kathi & I settled on this proper in 1995 because of the beauty and peacefulness that this area of the Texas Hill Country provides. It is home.
We built the Stoney Porch Guest Cabin because we wanted to share our appreciation for this beautiful area.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The Stoney Porch is unique because of the design and care that went into each phase.
We designed it and built it ourselves over a 2 year period and just opened in June of 2019. It's location on a 30' bluff that overlooks a valley and distant mountains make it as peaceful a location as one can find.
It is private and yet only minutes from rivers, lake, activities and entertainment of all kinds. Being 20 minutes from San Antonio offers a total contrast to the seclusion of the Stoney Porch Guest House.
