Family vacation and continuing education trip

Villa Langostina was a superb home to stay in while we visited Grenada. Having kiddos and a pool made the stay even better and easier. Anna was great in communication and helpful in the entire process-transportation and rental as well. We would absolutely recommend staying here and would return if we visit again.

The place is FABULOUS. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay for a girls trip or family getaway this is the perfect place It’s CLEAN fancy and private If you don’t want to. Cook there is a restaurant within walking distance It’s worth EVERY DIME

Family Vacation

Our family spent five days at Anna’s beautiful Villa. We were met on arrival by Anna and her fabulous housekeeper Maureen. The warm welcome made us feel right at home. The Villa was very inviting and comfortable for our family and offered all the amenities needed for a wonderful stay. Maureen took care of all our needs and made sure we had a clean environment. We will definitely return and highly recommend Anna’s Villa.

Friend fun time!

Anna met us at the beautiful villa after Shawne, our driver, picked us up. I cannot express how beautiful and clean the house was! We were also welcomed with a wonderful dinner of lasagna and bread! After eating we jumped into the pristine pool for the evening. Maureen, the housekeeper kept the villa clean, and even did our wash one day! She also cooked us a delightful local cuisine meal one evening! Yummy!! Grenada is an amazing island to visit! We recommend the snorkeling trip to the sculpures and Flamingo Bay with First Impressions and captain Mosden! The Chocolate Factory and lunch at the Belmont was also a must! We were disappointed we missed the old rum factory River Antoine, as well as Sandy Island off Cariccou. Be aware there are 2 Sandy Islands near Grenada. However, the beaches ( Grand Anse, Magazine, and BBC) made for a great alternative. Also, take a sunset cruise if you can. We went on First Impressions for this as well. Ours was God sent! We also recommend these restaurants: Dodgey Dodge at True Blue, Umbrella's (fun band and dancing), and the Aquarium! The house had so many comfy sitting areas, and the bedrooms were air conditioned for our sleep. Fun to see all the land crabs eating in the early morning off the deck, as well as an Iguana one morning! Thank you Anna for providing a special place for our much needed friend getaway! It was an amazing week!

If only I could give Villa Amarillo 10 stars!

This was the most wonderful experience I have ever had with a non hotel rental property. Prior to our arrival we had excellent communication and everything was arranged for us. Shawn picked us up at the airport so we didn’t have to find a taxi. Anna was waiting for us and had opened all the windows and doors to get the Caribbean breezes flowing. There were Carib beers and bottles water chilling in the fridge. The property was large with amazing views and lots of outdoor and indoor seating. The gardens were immaculate. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals at home. The area was safe. They arranged a car for rental for us. The few times we wanted to go out without a car, Shawn was there to drive us. We had a fabulous time, and are already planning a return visit to Villa Amarillo and to see our new friends! Thank you!!!

Beautiful villa with amazing view and staff.

This villa is very comfortable and beautiful. The beds where nice, I usually don’t sleep well when I vacation, but here I got a good nights sleep every night. There is a hotel True blue within walking distance, that provided yoga, messages, a restaurant and evening music events. The only thing that is very important to know is there is a lot of mosquito here. The bug Spray doesn’t even work , those bug repellent bracelet did work but don’t get them wet. Bring lots of bug repellent items. Anna our host was amazing calling to check with us often. Lauren our housekeeper was so sweet and took excellent care of us. She cooked and did laundry. Shawne the driver was the best part of this vacation. He is the nicest person and arranged everything for us. From snorkeling to restaurant reservations, grocery shopping, atm stops, a visit to the seven sisters falls. In which my husband and I didn’t want to do the hike and He graciously accompanied my two daughters. He is a must driver/ tour guide when visiting Grenada.

Great Spot / Excellent Host

We arrived and greeted by Anna who was just great. Lauren had a cold lunch waiting for us and looked after the house, cleaning, cooking etc. Sean was our driver and super good guy - took us everywhere we wanted to go. This was a great place to stay after our sailing trip.

Great Location and Views!

This lovely villa is located in a safe and convenient location. The outdoor space on the second floor was fantastic. We especially loved having breakfast on the veranda with the view of the ocean. Anna our Host and Lauren our Housekeeper were both very friendly and gracious. Shawne provided transportation to and from the airport and to the market. He was also great and more than willing to be available if needed. Thank you for the great accommodations!

A dream holiday in a dream villa

It has taken us a while to reacclimatise at home and come to terms with not being in this beautiful villa. Where do I start?! Grenada is an amazing island but for us the stay in this villa made it absolutely perfect. Anna is an extremely fair, lovely and friendly lady who kept in touch regularly to arrange our anniversary visit and help out with activities throughout our stay. Nothing was too much for her to help out on. Whether it was beaches or restaurants to visit, to wifi connections, to finding properties to rent long term to even finding an emergency dentist. Felt like she was one of the family. The villa itself was kitted out with anything you could possibly want and to a high standard. It was very clean, homely and stylish. The views are amazing and it is located in a quiet and private area but not far from a spa, restaurant and ultimately Grand Anse. You will hardly see any mosquitoes so to sit outside is really pleasant. The villa is designed for lots of outside living to lap up the sunsets, have breakfast outside watching the ocean and hearing the birds. Feeling nostalgic already. The maid Rose, a new maid, was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Her cooking was exquisite and her housekeeping was very good. She was available to talk when you wanted to but also kept guests to themselves when needed. She helped my mum out a number of times when she was trying to get used to the heat. Like one of the family. Sean was also very friendly and helpful in terms of car rentals, looking for boat charters and picking us up at the airport. He is extremely knowledgable of the island so an excellent person to keep in touch with while you are in Grenada. Very willing to do deals. Overall, we couldn't praise this place enough and genuinely wish we could have stayed. We will be back for sure.

THE place to stay in Grenada!

My family visited Grenada for 8 wonderful days. Our stay was as wonderful as it was due to our stay at Villa Amarillo. If you plan to visit Grenada, then we highly recommend staying here. The villa lives up to its pictures online - it is beautiful and comfortable and just a short drive (less than 10 minutes) from a delightful day on Grand Anse beach. Anna was a gem to deal with and was extremely responsive to our questions throughout planning our vacation. Ms. Maureen is a God-send and a pleasure to see each day (and, she makes delicious bread)! Shawne is an incredible ambassador for his country; he absolutely made our trip a joy! Our vacation would not have been the same if we had chosen to stay at a hotel. This house is beautiful, but the people (Shawne, Maureen, and Anna) make this villa THE choice of accommodations if you plan to visit Grenada.

You will not be disappointed!

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at Villa Amarillo. We had a wonderful time. Anna was great to deal with and made sure that everything was exactly as promised. She didn't intrude but answered any questions promptly. The villa is huge and could easily have fit more than the 7 adults that were there. The location is very good and we walked to Dodgy Duck a couple of times for some great dinners. The neighbourhood is very safe and in fact, we felt that way the entire time that we were on the island. You do need a car and it does take getting used to driving on the left hand side of the road if you are from Canada! But we did it and were very glad that we did. I have never stayed at a villa with a full time housekeeper before and was a little worried about our privacy but Miss Maureen was amazing. She cooked breakfast if you asked and would prepare any meal if you had the ingredients. She did laundry and cleaned and was never under foot. She is a treasure. The villa was always spotless. We rented a vehicle from Shawne - www.gndvacations.com Shawne picked us up and came back the next day to make all arrangements for renting the vehicle. He also took us on a full day tour of the island and booked any other tours that we wanted. I would recommend Shawne for any tours that you may have - he has an amazing knowledge of the island and pretty much anything else going on in the world! While there we booked a kayaking tour, a couple of catamaran tours and were lucky enough to watch Canada play Grenada in soccer in St George. We tried a different beach every day - all of them were amazing. Every night we would come back to have drinks around the pool and either go out or sit at the open air table upstairs for dinner and admire the beautiful Caribbean ocean views. You will not be disappointed with this villa or the wonderful people associated with it. This was our first trip to Grenada but definitely not our last. Thank you Anna, Miss Maureen and Shawne for the wonderful hospitality!

A lovely Villa and a great place to stay

My family came from UK to join me for a holiday in Grenada. I live in the north of Grenada and it made sense to either stay in a hotel or a Villa in St George's. I opted for a villa and from the moment I decided on Villa Amarillo, Anna the owner, was helpful nothing was too much trouble. We loved the villa, it is spacious and very comfortable. Miss Maureen the housekeeper is a treasure and our every need was catered! The villa is close to everything you need...beach, restaurants supermarkets. Thank you Anna, we will be back!

Second visit even better!!!

This was our second visit to Villa Amarillo and 3rd to Grenada. As my partner and I have stayed before we knew what to expect, but what we did not expect was the constant improvements Anna has made to the villa to make sure our stay was even better. The villa is impeccably maintained and we noticed many changes since our stay 2 years ago, fresh paint, newly upholstered furniture, new faster wifi. Ms Maureen looked after our needs in the Villa, from cleaning, cooking meals, washing and ironing of clothes and even joining us on a trip to the fish and spice market as our guide. What is great about Maureen is that she is there when you need her or not if you prefer to have complete privacy it is your decision. Anna the villa owner who lives on the island is only a phone call away to organise dinner reservations, diving trips, fishing charters, etc... Think of her as your personal concierge. Another nice touch is that our rental car was waiting for us upon arrival and the rep came a few hours later to fill out the paperwork, now that is what I call service! This is 5* service without the fuss! As previously mentioned everything you need is a short drive or walk away. We are already planning our next stay at Amarillo!

Villa Amarillo far exceeded our expectations!

We just returned from an amazing 2 week trip to Grenada in August 2015. 7 nights of this trip were spent in the fabulous Villa Amarillo. Right from booking day, Anna was the most amazing host. She went to many lengths to ensure our trip was memorable. Anna took care of arranging a vehicle for us along with providing us with information on any other excruciations we were planning. Every question I had for Anna was answered almost immediately. The great experience did not end after we booked. Upon arriving at the villa we were greeted by Ms. Maureen who had prepared a charming meal for our entire family (10 people) including a nice bottle of wine. Ms. Maureen was an amazing addition to our vacation. Not only did she spoil us by keeping the house clean, doing our laundry, she also prepared wonderful meals for us! The villa itself was wonderful, there was more than enough room for our three families (6 adults / 4 children). The bedrooms and ensuites are all fabulous and wonderfully decorated. The pool was fantastic for our young children and well maintained. The location of the villa was very convenient, 10 mins from the airport with a few nice restaurants in walking distance. The villa is located in a beautiful, safe neighbourhood. During our stay Anna touched base with us regularly to ensure that we were having a great time and to make sure all of our needs were being met. She was always available to answer any questions or provide recommendations to us at any time. I would most definitely recommend this villa to anyone who is looking for an amazing getaway in a tropical paradise. Thank you Anna for helping create our wonderful memories!

Villa Amarillo Excellent Home and Hosts

We have just spent 11 nights at Villa Amarillo in July 2015. Nothing short of amazing! Villa Amarillo is the perfect escape for post card views, family time, and relaxation. Our host, Anna Glean, runs a tip top operation. Every question will be answered pre trip. Anna goes to great lengths to ensure guests have the best experience. MS Maureen watches over the house, prepared meals for us on request and on her own, makes your bed (yes really), keeps the house immaculate, goes with you to the store, and points out highlights and destinations. She will likely surprise you with a tasty treat or two. Maureen has excellent local knowledge is an awesome person. Villa Amarillo is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood, True Blue. Easy access to shopping and some of the best beaches in the Caribbean (Grand Anse). Make sure you adventure over to La Sagesse beach. If you are a diver or snorkeler, visit the Marine Protected Area through one of the fine dive shop charters. After adventuring, take a dip in the beautiful Villa Amarillo pool and watch the day disappear at one of the upstairs decks. True Blue Bay and St. Georges University on one side. Prickery Bay on the other. Villa Amarillo is a must return to destination for those that love the Caribbean and excellent hosts.

Even Better Than Advertised!

From the pick-up at the airport by Shawn to the charming service provided Ms. Maureen, Villa Amarillo was even better than we had hoped. The property was as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. The flexibility and hospitality of Anna and her staff really was top notch. The whole experience was everything you hope for in a vacation!

A Fantastic Villa with Fantastic People

We have just spent 18 glorious nights at Villa Amarillo celebrating a significant birthday! From my first contact with Anna several months ago, I was impressed by her friendliness, professional manner and the ready supply of information and advice in abundance. Nothing was too much trouble, she responded promptly to my many e mails and even walked to the local Spa to confirm the booking for my birthday! On arrival at the villa as previous occupants have said, the photographs do not do it justice. The views from the outside living areas are fantastic. We have stayed in lots of properties all over the world and Villa Amarillo is one of the best from the point of view of location, views and is also one of the best equipped kitchens we have come across. It is a very comfortable house. We spent most of our time on one of the many outside terraces enjoying the sunset every evening. Shawne collected us from the airport, rented us a car for some of the stay and picked us up to take us to dinner and the supermarket. He is a very knowledgeable and kind man who went out of his way to make sure we had a good stay. Miss Maureen is another treasure, she made breakfast for us every day, did our laundry and kept the villa spotless. She also made us copious amounts of very tasty rice and salads, fruit juice and is a lovely lady. We weren’t allowed to bring her home unfortunately. The property is in a good location at True Blue, there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance and we had a takeaway from another local restaurant one night. The area is very safe and there is a small beach within a 2 minute walk. Grande Anse Beach and the big IGA Supermarket are about a 10 minute drive from the villa. Grenada is a lovely island, friendly people and good food. We would recommend the Sunday lunch at the Aquarium, Umbrella’s on Grand Anse beach and BB’s Crabback in St Georges as some of our many highlights. We will definitely be returning to Villa Amarillo and Grenada. See you soon Anna!!

A Glorious Villa

My family and I stayed for 10 days at Villa Armarillo. From the moment I contacted Anna about possibly staying at the Villa, I felt that I had found a friend and someone who really cared that I have the vacation I wanted. Her assurances that she would help me rent a car, plan my time, and make sure that I received the services I wanted were promises fulfilled. The house is more lovely than it appears in the photographs. It is spacious, with stunning views from all over the house. She arranged for Shawne to rent a car for us. He delivered it to the house with all the paperwork. He also accompanied us places where we wanted a personal guide. He was so giving with his knowledge of the island and willing to discuss anything we asked. I trusted him completely. Miss Maureen, who came during the week to clean, was kind and giving. Several times we bought food and she prepared dinner for us. Everyday when we came back from our adventures, the house was in perfect condition. I already miss her good morning greeting. And, of course, Anna was available for any call or question and made me feel that I could contact her for any little thing. They all made being in a new place very comfortable. We loved the pool, walking in the neighborhood, and just sitting in the many outdoor living spaces to watch the clouds and the sea. I recommend this villa and all these lovely people with a full heart.

AWESOME!!!! Stayed Dec.21/14 - Jan.1/15

Where do I begin? From the moment we decided to stay at the Villa Amarillo to our departure, was an awesome 5 star experience! We were greeted at the airport by Shawn and then greeted at the Villa by Anna (the owner) and Ms. Maureen. A delicious dinner and wine awaited us. Anna is the perfect host. During our stay, we invited Anna over for an evening drink and conversation - she is like a new friend! She answers emails promptly and sometimes even anticipates your questions. The Villa itself is true to the pictures and more. It is very well maintained and spotless! We went with our family of 5 (three university adult children). Each of our kids had their own room with a/c and ensuite bathroom. There is so much room in this villa to spread out and you can enjoy a view from every sitting area. You can be together but there is enough room to be separate if you want. Ms. Maureen is a gem! She is so efficient and so accommodating to any need that you might have. She even did our personal laundry - what a treat for me! The Villa is near to everything. We could walk to True Blue Bay resort or drive to Grand Anse beach - we did rent a car for our vacation (which Anna arranged for us). We did it all from snorkelling (Eco-Dive), to scuba diving (Eco-Dive), to kayaking (Conservation Kayak), to visiting a Rum distillery, to beaching at La Sagesse beach, to hiking Concord Falls, to touring the west coast up to Grenville, to deep sea fishing with Gary. Anna also arranged for us to tour St. George's University Veterinarian School since our oldest daughter is studying to be a vet in the US. In between all our activity there was lots of time to lounge around the villa pool or just enjoy happy hour on the veranda. Some good restaurants - the Beach House, the Aquarium and Umbrellas. Grenada is a beautiful and safe island to visit! Thank-you Anna for making Christmas and New Years 2014 a memorable one! Until we meet again......maybe in my rental home. Karen

Amazing!

We have just got back from two weeks at Villa Amarillo. What can I say? It was an absolutely fantastic villa and the perfect location from which to explore Grenada. There are two bars within walking distance and you can organise sailing, snorkeling or scuba trips and spa treatments from True Blue which is probably a 5 minute walk from the Villa. There are also numerous picture perfect Caribbean beaches within a 10 / 15 minute drive. (You do need your own car here but driving around is easy). The villa was large and spacious and had loads of different areas we could hang out depending on our mood and the time of the day. We went as a group of 6 adults and felt we had loads of space all the time. The bedrooms were all a good size and had a/c and comfy beds and the kitchen was well equipped. The photos don't really do the rooms justice. However, the BEST thing about the Villa was Miss Maureen! What an absolute star. She was so friendly and helpful yet gave us our space and would materialise from nowhere when there was anything to be done. Her cooking was great and gave us a real taste of home cooked Caribbean food whilst the villa was always clean and tidy. Anna was so welcoming when we first arrived which gave us a great feeling from our first moment at the villa. She then left us to it but was very quick to reply to any emails when we had the odd query. We also have an excellent list of potential baby names courtesy of Anna! Very nice villa! Wonderful just Wonderful

We just returned from our second trip to Grenada, what a joy this island is, so lush and beautiful! We arrived in Grenada about 6:30pm by the time we got to the villa via a taxi arranged by Anna, but at our expense, it was dark, so it was nice to have him waiting at the airport for us. Anna was waiting for us at the villa greeting us with open arms, Maureen, the house keeper, had made a nice lasagna, salad, and wine, what a welcomed added surprise for us. Anna arranged for a SUV to rent, it was very nice, shawne brought it shortly after we arrived, The villa was just as Anna had promised us. Very comfortable, safe, and the pool area and views were perfect. With cross breezes there is no need for a/c in the living areas. Every room has a perfect outdoor area off it practically including the bdrms, the living area has very comfy sofas and a flat screen TV, we could not get the DVD player to work for us, no biggie probably something we were doing, ceiling fans everywhere, the bdrms have a/c, no TV/Cable, one king, rest queen or full beds, a bathroom off ea. All very nice. The pool area is enclosed and very private (unless Maureen is still there) absolutely spotless and beautifully landscaped, we loved it. There are steps in this villa for those of you that have issues with them. The grill is not a gas grill you will need charcoal, etc. Maureen is wonderful, she is there most every day from about 9-3, the pool man came once while we were there. We really like privacy and the villa to ourselves, we would leave for the day and Maureen was usually gone by the time we returned. Maureen is a very sweet lady and does a good job keeping the villa clean. She offered to fix our breakfast and left us fruit and banana bread for snacks. You get to park your rental inside of the gated courtyard area, safe. The villa is in a residential area there is a homes across the street from it, but nothing on three sides, there is an apartment connected to the villa, but you have the villa to yourself once Maureen is done for the day. You can usually hear steel drum music lofting up from the cove in the eve, joggers and dog walkers are usually out and about in the eve and may stir up the local dogs. One big plus is it's close to a really nice grocery store and the nicest beach on the island, airport is close and you do get some air traffic overhead, but nothing to be concerned about. Really enjoyed our stay and this villa. Anna was wonderful to us! Price was right.

A delightful family holiday

My extended family and I stayed in Villa Amarillo over Christmas last year. There were three couples and one baby and the villa provided a perfect amount of space. The rooms are large and comfortable and well-appointed. Anna the owner was incredibly helpful with restaurant recommendations and travel tips. The villa itself is cool and airy, with large open spaces, good for families with small children. Maureen the housekeeper was a lovely presence and an excellent cook. If I had one criticism it would be that for the price the villa might have been kitted out a bit more conveniently for temporary visitors -- shampoo in the showers and a stocked pantry (i.e. cooking oil, spices, etc.) would have been helpful. But apart from that we had a lovely time and would definitely return in the future.

Centrally located in a very safe area.

Villa Amarillo did not disappoint. The pictures and description are very accurate. The villa is centrally located and minutes from the University. The area is very safe with an Ambassadors residence across the street. I love to run and the running around the Villa is great and very safe. Maureen our housekeeper was amazing and nothing we asked her to do was too much. Anna the owner made sure that our stay was perfect and she will help you with everything from transportation to restaurant reservations. She is always just a phone call away. The Villa is perfect for large families or a family of 4 like us.

AMAZING !!

My family and I stayed here in January 2014. After being let down by our initial villa we came to stay here and were totally blown away by Anna's professionalism and hospitality. The villa is absolutely beautiful and the photos cannot seem to capture how fantastic it is, particularly the outside space and patio deck. Maureen, the housekeeper, looked after us throughout our stay. She made breakfast for us every morning and prepared dinner when we stayed in, which included local dishes such as roti, fishcakes, bakes, local juice and banana cake. It was a real treat having her there, and it meant that everyone could completely switch off and relax. The villa is decorated to a high standard and is exceptionally clean and comfortable. As frequent visitors to Grenada we will most definitely be back.

Wonderful vacation!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Amarillo! The villa is lovely and is actually bigger than it appears online. The outdoor seating is spacious. We each had favorite spots but would switch locations depending on the winds. The pool is nice as well. We had 4 adults and 2 teenagers and we all loved it. Maureen prepared a delicious first night's meal for us tired travelers and prepared breakfast for each day which was a great treat! Anna was extremely helpful in obtaining a rental car for us as well as a driver when we didn't want to drive. The neighborhood is beautiful and quite safe for running/walking with several restaurants/bars within walking distance. The small beach is also quite close. The only drawback is that you don't hear the ocean. Overall a terrific vacation!
