A walk in the clouds

This was an amazing place to stay. The pictures do not do the views justice. Everything was well stocked and every need anticipated. My bed even had heated blankets. The outdoor space was amazing and if you want to take a challenging walk in the mountain air, you are in the right place. We will be back!

STUNNING VIEWS AND GREAT HOST

Beautiful property with amazing views! Only thing that was a little disappointing was that in description of property, it mentions "15 minute drive" to Great Sand Dunes. This is NOT a bad review. Just a suggestion that maybe that part gets edited, because I know some people that would be furious and would absolutely leave a bad review based on that piece alone! I'm not sure if the 15 minutes is just to the North end via back roads or is just 15 minutes to be able to see them or just to hike, but to get to the visitors center at the south end/main entrance, its just over 1 hour away. We have small kids and weren't doing any hiking with them. We just wanted to see the Dunes for first time and experience Medano Creek, and the 15 minutes was a little misleading. We didn't research(our fault), and went by the description, because on the map it does look really close, and most National Parks we have been to have multiple entrances! NOT enough of a disappointment, however, to give this property any less than 5 stars! Beautiful and "EASY" hikes for kids around Crestone and this property was so peaceful w/awesome views! ESPECIALLY THE STARS AT NIGHT! ABSOLUTELY NO LIGHT OR POLLUTION FROM CITY! I grew up fishing from my front porch and now live in the city near Denver. A MUCH NEEDED QUIET AND RELAXING PLACE TO STAY WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEWS! One of the best owners we have ever rented from as well! Reqched out before, during and after to make sure we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! WE DID!

Inspiring views, warm but unobtrusive welcome

We put up two mature spiritual teachers at this house for 5 nights. The process was as easy as could be, and the guests really enjoyed the accommodation.

Beautiful

This property is beautiful. It sits right below Willow Lake trail and Challenger Mountain. Sunrises were beautiful over the mountain and sunsets were beautiful over the valley. The home was well equipped for a peaceful retreat. The kitchen was well stocked with items needed to cook our own meals. The kids and my wife loved playing the piano and enjoyed the music available to play! My dad and I were able to walk out the front door and hike up to Challenger Point and Kit Carson. The entire family loved the Sand Dunes and relaxing at Hooper’s Pool (sand dunes recreation..I think). The location of the home is perfect for taking in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and enjoying the beauty that is all around! Owner was extremely responsive with any questions we had. Thank you so much!

Amazing Little Gem!

We had a great experience at the property. The views are amazing, the home is well maintained and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was very communicative the whole time we were there. We would definitely come back to this area. So much to see and do.....close to hikes, town, site seeing, national parks and wildlife.

Wonderful views and beautiful home

My family and I had such a wonderful stay. The home is beautiful and so clean, also very well stocked in the kitchen. We were very comfortable and felt right at home. Sharon was responsive and friendly, and was able to recommend things to do around the area that really were highlights of our whole vacation! Thank you!

Cozy home with beautiful views

Excellent property! It’s a beautiful house, hiking trails right outside the door, and huge windows all around to see the amazing views. It is a cozy, quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed eating dinner outside, the kitchen came with everything you would need to cook at the house.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was well-maintained and the property manager was incredibly responsive prior to and during the trip. The views of the mountains were incredible. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Crestone.

Quiet and comfortable

This house is located outside of the town of Crestone, CO. The view of the mountains is wonderful. The house and neighborhood were very quiet. We enjoyed our stay and the house had everything we needed.

Magical week

We have been to Crestone once before and loved it and wanted to spend more time there. This is a lovely home, fabulous views, right near the Willow Trail trailhead (can walk there), host was marvelous, and my husband got to play the baby grand piano - fabulous stay and hated to leave. Crestone is a fun, funky town with great history, spectacular scenery, two nice grocery stores, and a fun little "Cloud Cafe". We hope to go back!

Incredible view, quiet location

This is a lovely home, nestled into the mountains in a beautiful setting. It's definitely off the beaten path but just a short drive into town where there's a great grocery store and pub. It's a great mid-point between the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Salida. We spent time in both locations as well as did a 10 mile hike into the Sangre de Cristos to Willow Lake. Being able to walk out our door to the trailhead within minutes was a huge bonus. Time on the property was spent playing the grand piano and dining on the patio surrounded by great views of the sunrise and sunset. We even had a deer visit within a few steps!

Fantastic home with privacy and beautiful views

Our family spent 3 nights at this property before heading to a weeklong family camp on the other side of the mountain. Being from Texas, we wanted to take it slow, get acclimated to the elevation and enjoy the beautiful scenery. This house provided what we needed to do just that! As another reviewer stated, the pictures really don't do justice to how nice the property and home really are. The living and dining areas are spacious, there is plenty of comfortable seating and the numerous windows give you spectacular views from inside. There is plenty of separation from other homes, so it feels very private, and we were in walking distance from a trailhead that offers a nice hike up the mountain. We also visited the Great Sand Dunes, which was accessible within a reasonable drive from the property. We ate dinner in town and shopped at the local grocery, not much more than 5 minutes away. As a Vrbo host myself, I have high expectations of other hosts and their properties. Sharon was great and her property is beautiful, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to families looking for a quiet, relaxing retreat in the mountains of Colorado!

Beautiful Location

Pictures in the listing really do not give this rental justice! Absolutely beautiful, quiet location perfect for a small family. House is very well kept and the radiant floor heating was very nice on the cold mornings!

Wonderful Property

We decided to spend a little extra for this property because it looked so inviting on line. The reality exceeded our expectations. The house itself is beautiful, very comfortable, and well supplied. The views are incredible and we saw wildlife out the dining room window and were greeted by deer when we came back one afternoon. There is a great hike you can start from the front door, and the stars at night were spectacular. We had a minor kerfuffle at the beginning and Sharon, the property owner, handled it earnestly, efficiently, and with a great sense of humor. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Home with great view!

The property owner was very sweet and wonderfu to communicate with. The home had everything we needed for our stay. We were comfortable and able to relax in the home and outside. As well as having great hikes very close to enjoy each day. We will definitely remember this home and share with our friends - it had everything we needed and then some !!!

Amazing!

A beautiful house surrounded by the Sangre de Cristo range on one side, and San Luis Valley on the other. Perfect night skies. Sharon was an excellent host. We would stay here again, no question.
