Fall get away

we had a blast!! What a peaceful view from the cabin. we enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and having a bonfire in the evening, listening to the river. There was plenty of sleeping space also with the four bedrooms, with the four bedrooms, including the loft .

Amazing Stay

Everything was wonderful. Cabin was great. 3 couples stayed, plenty of room. The view of the river fantastic. River was amazing. We all enjoyed the tubing and just sitting in river and around fire pit. We will definitely be coming back.

FANTASTIC PROPERTY

The home was perfect for our family and is absolutely the greatest spot on the river. This was our family’s first really vacation together as adults and everyone loved it. Even though my kids had never fly fished before all of them including spouses caught at least one fish! We will DEFINITELY be back!

Beautiful cabin, just book it, you won't be disappointed

I would not hesitate to stay here again. It was clean, large, beautiful, just like the pictures. There were deer and turkey all over the neighborhood. Management was easily available if needed. And it was convenient to so many activities-whitewater rafting, shopping, hiking, lake swimming! We had 12 people, ages 17-77, and there was plenty of room.

Do not recommend

The cabin and the spot by the water was great. However, the location was hard to get to and check in through the guardhouse was complicated. The amenities listed were not able to use or working condition, such as the outdoor fireplace and air hockey table. Check in was postponed 2 hours when we were within 30 minutes of arrival which was frustrating for the young travelers with us. Upon arrival some furniture was not in great shape and the coffee maker did not work. Information was sent through a different app, email and overall communication over load with not complete information such as the guardhouse pin to get in. The guardhouse staff was not friendly. Do not recommend.

A wonderful place to stay, secluded on the river. Very peaceful. The only issue we had was finding the road to get to the house. I would strongly advise to get turn by turn directions to the house.

Ellijay vacation

Overall it was wonderful only a couple of snags that made it not perfect. We were not allowed to use the fireplace on the porch and we left an item I. The cabin when we checked out and are having some difficulty recovering our item. I know it is our own fault that we left it but as we are local we should have been able to go back to get it but it is a gated community and we were not allowed back in after our check out time

Spacious home along river

We really enjoyed our time at Laurel Waters. Cons- The home was really difficult to find, the resort community really needs better signage once you get along the river. The electric key pad didn’t work upon arrival, thankfully the Vacasa representative was easy to get a hold of and got us in via the lock box. The house had some other issues with the tv not working properly and the circuit breaker tripping. I think the house could also use a good deep cleaning. Pros- Dominos delivered however we did have to walk them through how to get to the house over the phone. The house was plenty spacious and had had all the amenities needed. I would suggest bringing sharp knives if you plan on cooking. We did enjoy the rec center & indoor pool however it is important to note that it is a 30 minute drive from the house. Our favorite part of the house was sitting in front of the large living room window overlooking the river.

Nice location, not very well kept up

Good location and nice river property easy to use the river. The road going down is in really bad shape. DO NOT use 2 Wheel drive, 4 wheel drive ONLY! House was pretty clean, but needs a DEEP cleaning! Porch was dirty, hot tub in disrepair, fireplace out of order (apparently for long time). You can tell this is a heavily used rental property. Could be very nice if cleaned well and a few things fixed, maintained. As many other guests said in the guest book, you cannot get on internet with instructions provided.

Great Home, beautiful creek, but…

This property is in dire need of maintenance. The outdoor fireplace on the deck is not usable, per the sign hanging from it, which is so old that you can barely read what it says. The building needs a pressure washing, the outdoor furniture cushions need to be replaced, and the ceiling in the downstairs game room has a hole in it. I’d give the clean 4.5 stars. Bed on main floor and living room furniture were comfortable. Everything was in working order. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. To whoever provides the directions, please review them. When driving from the resort gate, they we were not entirely accurate.

Misleading outdoor pictures

They have pics of chairs around fire pit but thats neighbors. Fire pit is built on edge of a slope so not all of family members can gather around fire pit. To be honest not sure why the cleaning fee when we found vape pens all over bedrooms (our kids found them). Pretty dirty place overall. Dont think much maintenance is done on property at all. Some nice blankets would help as HVAC upstairs and downstairs are 15F different. Beautiful balcony but bugs/ants all over the place. Would not book this place again. Awesome access to the river but better options in the area.

Off the beaten Path

The best part about the cabin is where it is located. The kids/families had a blast playing in the creek. There were several floats available for use on the creek but most had holes and were half-hazardly thrown under the deck. There was a nice fire pit out near the creek and we were able to make a fire there one evening. It is right on the road but very little traffic passes because the property is out of the way. The cabin advertised a hot tub, but it still wasn’t working. Additionally, many items are marked as “not amenities” so are not available for use by the guests. We couldn’t find cutting boards nor a can opener. Very few extra supplies if you are in a pinch. If you stay here bring your own paper products, can opener, trash bags, storage bags. While we appreciate the cabin being in the woods, the pests were just as much inside as outside. The bottom floor was a bit musty and that is where the bunk bed and additional guest bedroom are. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. We were greeted by rodent droppings near the front door. It was a nice location, and if the weather cooperates, you will have a nice time outside.

Good and Bad

I have mixed feelings on this house. First about the house. For the most part is was super clean. The dish washer had dirty dishes and the oven had old nasty burnt bacon on the cookie sheet. They kitchen needed lots of new supplies to make it a stocked kitchen. You are truly in the middle of no where and a fully stocked kitchen would have been nice because you don't want to leave to go out to eat. Thank goodness we brought a big pot with us otherwise we would have been out of luck. The fireplaces do not work and say they are out of order. That did not matter to us much b/c it was nice warm weather in late May. I would have been super sad if it was in winter months. Make sure you bring your own fire wood for the fire pit. The hot tub was clean but the top looked really beat up. Other than that the River, house and surroundings were peaceful and quite. (we had some loud neighbors with music but it was not bad if you set on the side porch off the bedroom). The River is wonderful our kids had a blast playing in the water and walking up stream and tubing down river, the fire pit and chairs are clean and nice. We spent most of our time down by the river. As for the management company. I would never under any circumstance rent a house that was managed by them. When we arrived an hour past check-in the lock box code did not work. I proceeded to sit on hold with the company for 45 minutes until I reached someone who then called me back 15 minutes later with a new code to get in the house. We emailed, text, DM on Twitter, reached out to the COO, CEO and CFO about getting in the home. There is no direct person you can reach. We finally found a window that was open and able to get in that way. We called about getting new bowls and such for the kitchen but never heard back. They are absolutely the worst to work with. If you ever see VACASA as a management company I would turn the other way. You will need 4-wheel drive or AWD to reach the place.

Great location

This was by far the coolest property I’ve ever booked. The views of the river and the deer roaming everywhere in the neighborhood was so cool. The cabin was beautiful but it could have been cleaner and better kept. It was very dusty and the it was clear that the cleaning staff does a very light surface clean. The outside area of stairs, chairs and hot tub could also be better kept. I’m highly allergic to dust and dander so I was sneezing and stuffy our whole stay.

Would have been perfect but....

Everything was lovely except we were not informed that the outdoor fireplace was out of order. In FEB, this really put a damper on our trip as we were forced to be indoors much more than we had planned. Had we been informed, we would have rescheduled our stay or asked for a new location. Nothing against this location, mostly against Vacasa for not being upfront about this issue.
