Om boendet

Achbeag är ett traditionellt krokhus som har omvandlats till en mycket bekväm stuga. Den behåller många av sina ursprungliga egenskaper, med utsatt sten i vardagsrummet och en flerkammare spis. Den har ett eget sovrum med dubbelsäng och ett tvåbäddsrum. Satellit bredband har nyligen installerats. Den lilla, avlägsna byn Fearnmore ligger cirka 25 minuters bilresa från Applecross Village och 25 minuters bilresa från Shielding. Achbeag har fantastisk utsikt över Loch Torridon mot Torridonian Mountains och Western Isles, med vackra stränder i närheten. De omgivande landskapen är hisnande. Achbeag är en perfekt bas för att utforska halvön Applecross, som erbjuder en vacker kust, bergsklättring, havskayaking, fiske, gamla skogar med sällsynta arter av mossor och lavar, djurliv och utmärkt lokal mat.

Bytesdagen är fredag. Därför bör bokningar göras från fredag till fredag.

Fabulous cottage and location

We had a wonderful holiday and the cottage was perfect. Extremely well equipped and in such a peaceful location, the surroundings were breathtaking and we hope to return again in the future. Highly recommend!

Lovely comfortable cosy house

Beautiful, quiet house on the road from Shieldag to Applecross, ideally positioned for excursions in that area and beyond. Inside, all modcons you would wish for. On cloudless nights, don't forget to take a good look at the starlit sky, and watch out for the bats. Shops in Shieldag and Applecross quite sufficient.

Charming stay at a very nice house in a nice location.

We had a lovely stay at this location. The house was very clean! This makes the welcome very pleasant. The pictures on bro don't do justice to the house. It's really so much better. The location is very of from the world so ideal for a week of. It has all the need you have, you can cook (fully equipped kitchen), you can watch some old school DVD's ore read a book ore play some board games its all there. Internet is present but don't expect 2 much of it. 4G if you need just need to take drive 3 min further down the road. Still enjoy your family time, and leave the phone on the side! Top house and the environment around is sooo nice to make an evening walk or try to do down to the water side. Kind regards,

A piece of paradise

Lovely property, remote and cosy - just how we like it. Friendly, helpful neighbours too! Cottage was well-equipped and had everything we needed for a weeks stay. Make sure you take everything you need as the nearest shop is Applecross 13 miles away and then Lochcarron, a lot further. Photographers heaven.

A piece of heaven on Earth

Such a beautiful and delightfully decorated cottage. Such peace and tranquility - ok it's a bit of an adventure to get to - but so worth every mile. And there are pine marten in the area - one visited the garden every day. Perfect.

Lovely cottage PLUS pine martens!!!

A very comfortable, remote cottage, which was spotless. We used it as a base for bird-watching but were DELIGHTED to have 2 different pine martens visit on 4 of the evenings. The cove below it is delightful and we saw common seal, dolphins and great northern diver. Alison, the owner, was very helpful and very prompt in her replies.

Perfect

I loved every minute of staying at this lovely cottage. The area is quite remote and the environment is stunning. The wildlife was delightful-lots of birds and even an adorable visiting pine marten (both of which I fed the appropriate food to encourage their regular visits) The Applecross Inn has lovely food (their langoustines are amazing) and is about 25 mins away. If you are after peace and tranquillity, you’ll get it here. I stayed in December and I think it was a great time to be there (Got some snow) All in all, a really relaxing, rejuvenating, beautiful place to stay. Note, though, that it is very important to come fully stocked with food. The only proper supermarkets are in Inverness, about 2 1/2 hrs away.

Our 5 day stay at Fearnmore

The House is absolutely lovely. Great location, very clean, nice and cosy, even more so with a nice log fire on, and very well equipped. We could not have hoped for better, and the general Applecross/Shielaig area is very quaint and stunningly beautiful. Thanks to our host Alison!

Fantastic cottage

Lovely remote location. Saw our first aurora from the cottage. Cottage very clean and well thought out. Well equipped kitchen. Communication with host was excellent. Would recommend, photos do not do this cottage justice.

Peaceful

A lovely cottage, very homely and cosy. The surrounding area is stunningly beautiful. Location is approximately half way between the local centres, Applecross and Shieldaig. Midges were bad here when the wind dropped. I would return at a different time of year!

Fijn huisje in prachtige omgeving

Ons verblijf was een heerlijk weekje in dit fijne vakantiehuis in een werkelijk prachtige omgeving. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien, goed onderhouden, zeer schoon en is klein maar fijn. De bedden liggen heerlijk en het is zeer handig dat er twee badkamers zijn. Alles werkt naar behoren en het is een gezellige en huiselijke plek ver van huis. De omgeving is fantastisch. De ligging van het huis is zeer rustig. Wij hebben er onze vakantieweek helemaal niemand gezien. Je hoort geen auto's of ander verkeer, kortom een oase van rust om deze prachtige hoek van Schotland te verkennen. Wij komen graag terug als we in de buurt zijn!

Abgeschiedenheit am Applecross

Das kleine Cottage befindet sich, wirklich abgelegen, auf der Halbinsel Applecross. Daher die Ansage:kauft genug für die kommenden Tage und habt den Tank ordentlich gefüllt "durchaus wörtlich zu nehmen. Das Cottage ist liebevoll gestaltet, Insbesondere die Schlafzimmer sind sehr schön. Das W-LAN steht nur begrenzt zur Verfügung. Das bitte unbedingt beachten. Gute Basis für Ausflüge rund um die Halbinsel Applecross und den legendären Pass. Wir würden wieder buchen.

I live in East Lothian, Scotland, with my husband and 2 boys. As a family, we love the outdoors and we bought Achbeag so that we could all enjoy spending time in one of our favourite parts of Scotland. As younger children, my boys loved to go down to the little natural harbour at Fearnmore to potter around in the bay and on the rocks. No they are older, they wander further afield on their own. Between us all, we love swimming with the seals, paddleboarding, mountain biking on the fantastic local routes, road biking, and boating on the loch, as well as taking the boys up the odd mountain when they can be persuaded!

We love Achbeag because it is hidden away and nestled in a sheltered part of Fearnmore, and it has wonderful sea views from every room. It is very cosy with its multi-fuel stove in the sitting room. It is the perfect size for a small family (up to 4) and it is warm and comfortable all year round. At Achbeag, we can be thoroughly disconnected from the rest of the world, and have a truly restful time.
