This is our second time staying at this house. We really enjoy having all the space it provides. The ocean view is wonderful. We saw many dolphins during our stay and also enjoyed seeing turtles hatch just a few yards down the beach. The house was very clean and comfortable. We also liked that we could walk to the restaurant across the street for dinner or a few drinks. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Parfaite semaine à la plage

Nous avons séjourné dans la maison de Rose et Larry pendant nos vacances. Nous étions 12 adultes et 9 enfants entre 2 et 8 ans. Tout le monde a adoré son expérience. Nous avons apprécié la proximité de la plage et la facilité d’accès. La plage est tranquille et nous avions beaucoup d’espace pour nos chaises; c’était presque une plage privée. La maison est très grande. Nous pouvions facilement préparer un repas pendant que d’autres personnes prenaient l’apéro. Les divisions font auddi en sorte que chaque famille a son espace. Nous avons tout ressenti un sentiment d’être à la maison. Tout était très propre. La maison est bien entretenue et ne manque de rien. Nous avons aussi beaucoup aimé que la maison ne soit pas comme un musée et que les enfants puissent jouer sans sentir que tout pouvait briser a tout moment.La maison est situé sur un passage très tranquille de l’île. Nous avons pu prendre des marches avec les enfants et faire du jogging. Aussi, nous sommes allés souper à la brasserie Lonerider, à 2 minutes de marche et avons passé un super moment, avec le coucher de soleil et un live band. Fortement conseillé!Les communications étaient faciles avec Larry et Rose. Nous avons croisé Rose à notre départ et avons eu un coup de coeur pour cette femme très chaleureuse et attentionnée.

There were several minor issues that we encountered. Sand fell from a comforter when removed from closet.Kitchen/dining room table was extremely sticky, even after we gave it a thorough scrub, loose knob that came off in 3rd floor bedroom (just needed tightening?).Unable to log into personal accounts on TV. Was unable to get anything other than lukewarm water from the 2nd floor bedroom bath. Musty smell in basement bedroom. All of us loved the location and convenience. Beautiful home. Exceptional access to beach. Elevator made life a lot easier.

Beautiful home

The house was beautiful and clean, and we loved being right on the ocean. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking supplies. There was plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable, and ample space to gather as a family. Would definitely stay here again!

Family Christmas

Everything was great for our 10 adults and 9 children Christmas vacations. Cooking supplies were plentiful and the family had a great time inside and on the beach.

Family time at OKI

This was our fourth trip to OKI and our first stay at Blue Rhapsody. We’ll be back!! It’s a wonderful layout for a large family/group, as we were there with three generations. Rose and Larry keep a clean house and we much preferred it to the house we stayed at that was “maintained” by an agency. There was everything we needed…and then some! The location is perfect, at the quieter west end, and the boat launch around the corner proved to be our 12 year old’s favorite spot to fish and toss his cast net.

Thanks for a wonderful vacation

This beautiful house was perfect for our needs. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. The beach access couldn't be better. The owners responded instantly when called. The kitchen was lovely, especially the 2 refrigerators. The elevator was a great help in getting luggage to the top floor. We enjoyed the town and surrounding areas; kayaking to shark tooth island, air boat ride to see baby gators, electric bikes and the Friday outdoor concert and of course the beach! We recommend this house for a lovely vacation.

Wonderful time

There were seven of us staying at the property and we all really enjoyed it. The house had everything we needed and we all had plenty of space. The easy access to the beach was wonderful. Having an ice maker ended up being a bonus treat and very useful. The property was just as described and we would definitely rent it again.

A Perfect Wedding Weekend

I booked this stay for my wedding. Larry and Rose were exceptional hosts. My family that stayed in the house, loved the location, house set-up, and access to the beach. The space allowed us to use the large garage for reception food set-up, the large backyard was perfect for a 20x20 tent, and guests had access to enough bathrooms. Communication with the hosts were top notch and they were flexible, allowing me plenty of time to set-up and breakdown while working with my vendors. Overall, we had a perfect wedding weekend and our family is still raving about the ceremony and house. We came prepared and had bug and ant spray, which did come in handy since this was an outside reception and there were ants in some areas.

Great all around

Rose and Larry have a very accommodating home. Our four families that travel annually to the beach together fit comfortably (4 king beds and 3 extra rooms to disperse children!) and appreciated the easy access to the beach. The kitchen was quite adequately equipped, and the back porch provided ample seating and shade. The two dining tables were perfect for our large group. We will definitely be back!

My family had a great stay at oak island. The home was nice, spacious, and had convenient access to the beach. The check in and check out process was clearly posted in several locations making it easy to follow the rules.

Amazing!!!

Giving this property 5 stars would be a miscarriage of justice. A VAST understatement to say the least !!! The home the location, and most importantly the owners are phenomenal !!!! One concern, resolved quicker than a hiccup. The narrated You Tube video on the property that they have produced presents the property very well. I am coming back next year !!!

Mom's 80th birthday

Nine family members celebrated my mom’s 80th birthday at this beautiful, spacious house. It can fit a lot more people than that though. There are views at every turn. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for big family meals. My brother put the high-quality grill to use. My mom used the elevator to check out the balconies on the third floor where you can see the ocean and waterway. She spent a lot of time on the gazebo in the shade watching us play in the ocean. The kids set up their video games downstairs. We played games at one of the huge tables. The deck is enormous with lots of chairs. We only left the house a couple of times. Lonerider Brewery is a three-minute walk and it’s right on the waterway. Great beer! We also ate out one night at Koko Cabana, which is attached to the Oak Island Pier, where we enjoyed mahi mahi and sword fish. The hosts are kind and very responsive. We recommend staying at Rhapsody in Blue! I hope to return one day.

Perfect home for our Spring Break getaway

We loved our stay and the home was set up perfectly for multiple families. It was so kid friendly and stocked with kids books, games, a few toys, high chair and baby gates. The kitchen is perfect and huge and plenty of space to spread out and gather. It is stocked with everything you could need. The rooms are comfortable and everything was super clean!! The backyard area was great for the kids and it was so easy to access the beach. No big staircase so go down - you just step right onto the beach from the deck. The home location was perfect - secluded enough but also not too far from whatever you need. There is even a cool bar/restaurant that you can walk to! We loved the home and hope to return one day!!

Amazing location

This beach front house is so spacious! It fit 4 families, with 10 kids total. Several closets are big enough for pack-n-plays for the babies. We had a great time. Comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen and the location can’t be beat! Prompt responses from the owners and easy to work with. We’re tempted to book again for next year!

Rose and I have been coming to Oak Island since 2003. Moving here permanently in 2019. Rhapsody in Blue is our third home. Check out our other two homes (Wine & Roses and Sand Castle). We have a large family and love providing vacation homes to bring families together.

Rhapsody in Blue is located in the beautiful west beach area. There are gorgeous sunsets and sunrises from our deck. We have 100 feet of coastline on our oceanfront home. Our home is beautifully appointed. There are 2 large living areas and a sunroom. The kitchen is fully stocked and there are 2 dining areas. There are stunning views of the ocean and the Intercoastal waterway. When you enter our home, you will feel instantly relaxed.
