Spring Break on IOP

We spent a few days on IOP for Spring Break. The condo was an amazing size for our family of five (it could’ve held even more people). Many, if not all, of the concerns expressed by previous reviewers have been addressed by the owners. There’s a new refrigerator, a big, comfortable sectional and the condo is in the perfect location.

Ocean Breeze

Loved the location of this condo - we ate out on the patio to enjoy the ocean breezes and views. Everyone was super helpful. The condo is well stocked for what you need for a beach vacation.

A Wonderful Stay

I had friends from out of town visiting, and we wanted to stay by the beach. This rental has a direct pathway to the beach and unit pool. The apartment was immaculately clean and had a well-stocked kitchen. There was enough room for all seven of us, and we had a great time relaxing on the beach and pool. The location is perfect for walking to all the restaurants in Isle of Palms, so no need to worry about additional parking. I highly recommend this rental.

We had a wonderful week. Perfect location and accommodations for my family. Loved the private stairs and access to the beach, being able to leave all the sand toys on the porch!! Look forward to going again next year!

Great location and generous space

Access to the beach is great. We loved the location of the condo and lots of room for our group of 10! Condo is a little aged and could use some lounging furniture on the outdoor patio. Overall we would stay here again!

The property is outdated but clean. The view is beautiful! The property management company, “Vacasa” was not easy to deal with as far as check in procedure.

Great Location!

Loved the location of this property. It was so close to the beach. Everything on Isle of Palms was so walkable. Easy drive to Charleston. A few of the cabinet doors in the kitchen and bathrooms seemed loose. We were afraid we might pull them off. We wish there would have been beach chairs available. We drove this time so we were able to bring some with us. We looked in to renting them from one of the local places but it was expensive. Definitely bring your own! We had 7 people with us and the condo had plenty of room for everyone. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Charleston area!

Roomy condo in a great location

I’ll start out by saying that the condo is in a wonderful location. It is right on the beach but still very walkable to everything in town. We love that it has 4 bedrooms and a large living space as well as a large porch looking out at the ocean. The condo was also clean when we arrived. We have stayed at the here 2-3 times in the past with the most recent being probably 5-6 years ago. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as if anything has been done to update the condo since our last visit. The bedding, furniture, and rugs are all VERY heavily worn. A lot of the patio furniture was so rusted it wasn’t even usable. It is sad because it could be such a beautiful condo. It could really benefit from some TLC.

Amazing view and ocean/beach access, but the property needs some work

If you are looking for view and beach/ocean access, then this property is amazing. It also is pretty large and flows fairly well, with three bedrooms at the back and the master suite at the front. What I wish I had known is that the property needs some work. There are several holes in the walls (for example, over the sliding glass doors to the deck) that maybe are from the removal of a window treatment, but they haven't been filled and repainted. There are holes in other walls as well. The paint on the outside of the property (the deck railing) is peeling horribly - it drove me crazy during our stay. The lock on the gate to the beach also didn't work consistently, and multiple times we had to climb around it to get back in. In addition, the refrigerator smelled awful every time you opened the door - the culprit was unclear but I have no reason to think it was anything we put in it. Finally, the heat and a/c didn't flow well throughout the condo, so parts of it were hot and parts very cold. These may be minor details that do not matter much to you, especially if you are going to spend the vast majority of the day on the beach. But I am detail oriented and they really drove me crazy (especially the unprepared holes in the walls and the peeling paint). I wish I had known, because those things are not apparent from the photographs.

Clean but in Need of Repairs Badly

Our unit was spacious and clean; however, it was in great need of repairs throughout and some things did not work at all. The biggest issue was the AC unit. It never got below 74°-75° inside the unit. They did send a repairman out to work on it; however, it did not improve the air temperature in the unit. On top of this, the bedroom with the bathroom attached at the end of the hallway was always much hotter than the rest of the unit. There was also a portable unit in that bedroom for most of the week. It may have helped some on the bedroom temperature, although that bedroom still stayed much warmer than the rest of the unit, even with it. On top of the hot temperatures in that bedroom, the portable unit was leaking terribly on the carpet from the portable unit -the carpet was soaked from the window to almost the entry door, so we had it removed. This same bedroom door and the bathroom door (on the bedroom side) did not lock or even shut correctly. The bedroom with the two twin beds door also had a bedroom door that did not shut or even lock. The kitchen and the master bathroom was missing cabinet doors and fronts of drawers. There was also molding missing in the kitchen. Also in the kitchen, it was not possible to get the freezer door open unless the blinds were closed. The fridge would not open all the way also. In the master bathroom and the jack-and-jill bathroom toilets all were not attached to the floor well and wobbled when they were sat on. Not worth 5K+.
