Hale O 'Waikoloa (House of Waikoloa) ligger i ett lugnt område i Waikoloa Village på Big Island Hawaii. Waikoloa Village är ett litet samhälle av hus, lägenheter och radhus belägen på en höjd på 1000 meter, högt över de lyxiga hotellen som sprider sig längs strandlinjen sex mil under.

Förutom master-badrummet finns det ett komplett badrum och ett halvt badrum. Den öppna balkens design och femton fot vardagsrumstaket ger en expansiv och luftig effekt. Det finns många fönster orienterade mot nordväst för utsikt över havet och Kohala berget. Det finns också gratis WiFi.

Möblerna är främst skandinaviska och de många målningarna och konstföremålen kommer främst från Asien och Europa; av anteckningen är en porslinsfigur av en balettdansare från Moskva, Ryssland och en invecklad hästritad statyett från Wien, Österrike.
De 400 kvadratmeter täckta Lanai öppnar mot utsikt över havet och det vackra Kohala berget. Utsikt över solnedgångar från denna utsiktspunkt är verkligen förtrollande och magiska!
Några av de bästa stränderna på Hawaii ligger en kort bilresa bort, till exempel Hapuna Beach, Mauna Kea Beach och Anaehoomalu Bay (A-Bay); strandmaterial som hattar, handdukar, stolar, solkräm, boogiebrädor, kylare etc. lagras i en garderob och är tillgängliga för användning av gästerna.
Waikoloa Village har en 18-håls Robert Trent Jones, Jr.-designad golfbana, där gästerna får en rabatterad greenfee. Andra högklassiga golfbanor på de flesta av hotellen i anläggningen ligger bara några mil bort.

The cockroaches that appeared every day were a bit of a hassle, but they were German cockroaches, so it wasn't too bad. It made us feel like we were living in nature. This was our seventh time on the Big Island, and my friend said it was the best one he'd ever been to. Thank you very much.

Disappointing Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arrived the temperature inside the house was 93, hotter than outside. Not a pleasant way to begin our stay. The air conditioning, in our opinion, does not cover the whole house and it takes many hours to cool off. In trying to open windows to get air, many of the window levers did not work.The oven was flithy and there was no other way to cook because the house does not allow a barbecue; we cleaned the oven! There were many other little things, too numerous to mention. We will not be back.

Three Couples with room to spare!

This property is spacious with a roomy kitchen, separate dining area if wanted, but we congregated either on the lanai or the bar for most of our meals. The bedrooms are comfortable and pleasantly separated with the master bedroom and bath en-suite opposite ends of the house from the other two bedrooms. A full-size laundry room is a bonus,Being halfway between Downtown Kona and Kapau shortened car time so we could easily visit friends or Hilo without worry of returning home tired and in the dark. This was an all around lovely eight days and we highly recommend this home to responsible adults.

Family reunion

House was as advertised. Beautiful views. Close to swimming beaches. Close to stores, but with a rural setting. Sleeping quarters were fantastic and it helped to have 2 and a half bathrooms with a 7 person party.

Wonderful place for a family vacation

We were family of five with two teenage daughters enjoyed our stay. Everything was as advertised and all the amenities were great. Place was spacious and comfortable for our vacation. Only gripe we had was that the vegetation has grown which blocked to see the sunset from the deck. Overall we had a wonderful time. Thanks to the property owner for letting us use the place.

Beautiful house

We had a lovely time at this property, we visit Hawaii frequently an have stayed all over the island..The view from here is beautiful. I would recommend a fan or 2 as none of the windows open an a breeze would be nice. But the house overall was lovely. Thank you Aurora

Quiet neighborhood

Our house was a great. There were a few bugs but we emailed and the person in charge of cleaning came right over and laid some sticky traps out. We did see a few more bugs but we were able to deal with it. Beautiful house!!

First class -upscale house

5 of us siblings loved having this special “home away from home” to hang out and laugh together for two weeks! Loved this upscale neighborhood and we enjoyed our morning walks around the golf course every morning!!! The property management communicated with us to make sure our needs and any and all concerns were met! We loved this “open floor” layout with an open and spacious living room, dining room and kitchen floor plan!!! Thanks for an allowing our family a special time in the Waikaloa area!!! Overall wonderful house!

Everything was good and as advertised. The only negative, if it could be called that, was the house was sealed up tight when we got there. As a result the thermostat said it was >90F inside at 9pm at night. Opening windows, etc. cooled the house pretty quickly and it was quiet enough that we left them open, but that meant we had the bugs that you see while in Hawai'i...

Pleasant Stay

Pleasant stay. Beautiful views and nice neighborhood. Amenities good. Close to beaches and restaurants. House was a little musty and had gecko poop all over walls on our arrival. Property management company was a little non responsive, but eventually met our needs. Recommend an internet upgrade or possibly a new router. Internet went in and off the whole stay. Was attempting to remote work, download less thank 3MPS, upload less than 1MPS.

Lovely Big Island Stay

Overall we were very happy! Beautiful home, great views! Lots of lovely, but breakable, items displayed all around the house. Definitely not a rental for toddlers or high energy sassy teens. Close enough to markets, fuel etc but away from the hub bub of resorts. Some of the linens and mattress pads need replacing. All blankets need a refresh washing. Nothing to deter a decision to stay again. Lovely breezes out on the covered porch. And fantastic sunsets too. Very friendly and helpful communication-always a plus😃

Our stay at Hale O, Wiakoloa in March 2022

This was a lovely home but did have a few things that needed attention, there were many spots on the living room/dining room carpet and there is one center blind in the dining room that was inoperable. It was advertised as a home that would accommodate 7 people, which it did in sleeping arrangements , but when it came to sitting down for a meal there were only 5 chairs. We were a little disappointed that there was no BBQ available.

Five Stars from Friends and Family

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We booked this house to share with a succession of family and friends. Every one loved the art filled house and found it to be very comfortable with a master suite at one end and a “guest wing” at the other. We enjoyed many meals in the large open kitchen/living room/dining room as well as morning coffee and sunset cocktails on the lanai. The neighborhood is very quiet and many of us were greeted by friendly neighbors as we enjoyed walks and runs. It was easy to make day trips to farmers markets, shops and restaurants in Waimea, Kailua Kona and Hilo. We visited several historic sites including Volcano National Park and swam and snorkeled at some of the best beaches on the island. The management company always responded promptly and made us feel very comfortable throughout our stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It is a nice place in a great location. We have stayed there once before a couple years ago. We enjoy it. The things I would change (fix) are: 1. The sheets need replaced. They are the same ones from last time and the fitted sheets in the master don't stay. They are too stretched out. I can't speak for the other beds, but I am sure they are in the same boat. The pillows should probably be replaced as well. There's not much to them anymore 2. More shower towels. I am ok with limiting what you provide in regards to toilet paper, laundry detergent, and things of that nature, but shower towels should not have to be brought from home. If it sleeps 6, then have towels for 6. 3. I had to go buy batteries for the thermostat. The batteries were dead. That can be checked regularly. All in all a great time and nice house.

Vacation for art, relaxing, rejuvenation, and quality girl time!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Spent a week at Hale O' Waikoloa relaxing and enjoying each other's company. We were 3, so had plenty of room to spread out in the house.The master bedroom has a sliding door that opens to the deck with a lovely view of the mountains and ocean. The master bath has 2 sinks, a great bathtub, but the shower head wasn't at all comfortable (stinging and no way to lower the pressure...) The kitchen was pretty well stocked with utensils and appliances, though there were some items that should be always be available; coffee filters for the coffee maker, a vegetable peeler that works... we understand not having plastic wrap for food, but there were no items for covering food to store in the fridge or on the counter-there was a real need for smaller bowls and smaller plates. There were several plates that were usable but were cracked and need to be replaced. We took advantage of the beach towels and chairs; that was very helpful to have on hand!Great location, quiet neighborhood, close to the well stocked store, and other amenities. We enjoyed a dinner at Pueo's Osteria- you may want to make reservations- it was busy even on a Monday evening!All in all we really enjoyed the property; it was clean and well maintained inside; I would be hesitant to bring small children due to the many art objects in every room! Mahalo!

Difficulties from the beginning!

Where do I start? The code I was sent to enter the property was incorrect. Fortunately, the cleaning personnel showed up and gave me a correct code, but unfortunately they also stated that the ac was out and didn't know when it would or if it would be fixed. After entering the property I was aghast to find the walls dirty throughout. Due to no ac bugs and animals were throughout the property. The wifi name and password were incorrect to which I had to obtain the info directly from the router. The after hours help was the only actually responsive person I could get hold of, even during regular business hours. The extra beach amenities were either non-existent or broken. Many of the windows we could open up to be able to sleep for ventilation, due to no ac, at night were broken making it unbearable to sleep at times. After the 5th day, the after hours help finally confirmed that they wouldn't be able to fix the ac for another 3months... Horrible service and help from the beginning! Renters beware!!
