Beautiful house on the ocean

Loved the deck overlooking the gulf! House was roomy, beautifully decorated, comfortable. Had to walk under or between neighboring houses for walks on the beach, but easy to do. We had some powerful storms come in one night and lost power along with all the others on the beach, but the home held up well with no damage.

Great location

Best location on the island. Home comfortably fit 6 kids and 6 adults. Beach right out your door is wonderful. No real complaints, stay was lovely. Only reason it’s not a 5* is because the property has obviously seen some use and there are items needing fixed/replaced. Host (Vacasa) very responsive and helpful. Would stay here again next time on DI.

Great Stay

The proximity to the beach is great. We had a great week in Dauphin Island. Just enough beach area......felt like we had our own area.

Great Location!

Amazing view and saw dolphins daily! Tons on toys for kiddos and a well stocked kitchen. I do wish the windows latched/ the street view door locked from inside for safety of children.

Outdoor meals!

We loved the house! It was very clean and comfortable! We really enjoyed the large porch where we had many meals on the large outdoor table. This was the 3rd time that we stayed in this home and it never disappoints! We would recommend this home and location to everyone!

Nice home right on the beach

Nice/updated home that is right in the beach (less than 50 yards to water). Beach is somewhat of a small private strip about 150 yards with only a few homes on that strip. Home was newer feeling / open concept kitchen and living room with nice furunitute, and spacious 4 bedrooms with balcony access for two of the bedrooms. Nice propane grill.

Excellent Beach Front Home

What was not to love? The home was beautifully decorated and accommodating for our large family. Mary was so kind and helpful and responded promptly to my questions leading up to our stay. Highly recommend this property for a relaxing beach getaway.

Highly recommend!

Beautiful home with unobstructed beach access. The split bed/bath floor plan is great for two families and both the primary and secondary bedrooms had access to the deck.

Terrific Beach House

Great location, wonderful plan, large decks, bedrooms and bath locations are good, lots of toys, beach access is right at your front door. Newer house, quality construction, I highly recommend this property. The management service was great also with quick text replies. Don’t forget to watch the sunset!!!

Great location, great house

You can't beat the location of this spacious house. The views were beautiful, and at the time we were there a large sandbar makes the beach perfect for getting in the water and not worrying about dropping off right away. The house was great and the beds were very comfortable. There were only a few small things that would have made the house perfect, hence the 4 star review, but we would still stay here again.

Good house, bad management

The only reason I don’t give it a 5 is because Management Company VACASA needs to do better. We arrived at 4pm to check in to find cleaning crew family set up directly in front of the house with tent. I went to take bags in and the house was not cleaned and housekeeping had just started. I told her I was supposed to be able to get in at 4 & she said sorry at least an hour. It was 5:30 before we could get inside which made our 5 hour trip now 6 1/2 hours long. There are some safety issues needing to be addressed: No lights on 2nd deck or on steps from house to beach. front door cannot be locked from inside. It’s a lever door handle so kids or dogs could open door & fall down steps easily. All air vents in living room closed off & covered in black mold. Needs cleaning all air vents. No hose , shower or working faucet on lower deck to get sand off before going upstairs. The hose on upper deck has several holes & needs to be replaced, stools on deck need repair. Photos showed gate at top to steps but there was not one. Walk off mats need to be replaced. I’m sure the owner is paying enough fees to VACASA to take better care of property and have it ready on time. The house itself was nice and we enjoyed upper deck.. Nice location. Good AC Very Late check in set tone for trip. Then the door lock issue & back steps lighting made it uncomfortable.

Beautiful home

This is a beautiful home. Same floor plan as 105 Tovar but the view is better. If you decide to rent this place bring a rope to secure the porch swing under the house. If you don’t it will keep you up all night because it slams into the poles under the house when there is wind.

Unforgettable Vacation

Everything was really awesome until Tropical Depression Alberto came on the scene. This house is down on the far west side of the Island and that is what we loved until we had tidal surge and lost a few of our things under the house and the road flooded. It only lasted for 48 hour, but was devastating for some vehicles near us. And came very close to us. There should be some where to monitor warnings and it should be highlighted in the house somewhere. It should be posted and pointed out to renters. It would be very helpful. Can’t wait to come back.

Good Not Great

The good; it’s Dauphin Island! The deck is nice and lovely swing on a lower deck level. The home was not very clean, the cabinet with the trash cans in it was broken, lots of wear on the paint/finishes in the home. No rugs and the home is very echoey (an issue with loud children). Beds are not very comfortable. The towels ALL were covered in clumps of black hair. The toilet leaked around the bottom and didn’t flush well. The fridge was off when we arrived and we didn’t realize until after all our food was warm. The location is land locked on both sides with houses that are in the water line so you can’t walk the beach either direction without walking right under/by other homes. All in all, not impressed with this house. Just a warning- the photos look much nicer than the house actually is.

A little disappointed

The house itself was nice however upon arrival (we arrived after checkin time, not early) the cleaning lady seemed to be chilling on the back deck with her van blocking the entrance. The floors were Sandy upon arrival. Missing a TV remote, 1 bedroom ceiling fan remote was missing and 1 didn’t work. We were unable to use the bedroom lights or fans in those 2 rooms. I texted the help number and received a instant response the they would get us replacements as soon as possible. We never received them or ever heard another word from anyone other than automated messages. The mattresses needs replaced. On a good note it was stocked with plenty of pots, pans and such if you’re into cooking on vacation.
