Nice place for large groups; although not handicapped friendly!

We enjoyed our stay at this home; however, there are a few things that potential vacationers should be aware of. There are no bedrooms/bathrooms on the main floor, so you have to use stairsteps frequently. It looks like the owners are trying to make some updates & hopefully that will continue (a lot of inexpensive things like toilet paper holder, better quality paper products, towel holders, etc.); the beds definitely.need to be replaced (except maybe the bunks). There aren't any games (pool table, fooseball table, or ping pong table) available which we have found in a number of places we have stayed in. After recently booking a 4-night stay at Disney World with 4 days of park hopping & the best meal package; I realized that the cost was only $600 more than our 3-night stay at Crystal Mountain. We will be considering different options, different locations in the future.

Everything was perfect. Location is great. The house is very spacious and had everything we needed. I would definitely stay there again.

Up North Stay

The house was good, we just had a number of issues. While it appeared clean, after the kids walked around barefoot in house for an hour, their feet were black. Floors must have been sweeper but clearly not mopped. Hot water did not work first 2 days and there wasn’t any firewood as advertised on the app. Trash from previous guests was overflowing when we got there too. Trash and firewood was resolved on day 3. A/C on main floor was great but bedrooms upstairs were hot.

Not worth the price

This house was decent, but there were a few things I really did not like. First being, when I submitted the payment through, it did not give me the breakdown of the extra fees I was getting charged until AFTER the payment went through. I have never had that happen before, and was pretty shocked to see the almost $500 in fees I was charged which was all non-refundable as well. Had I known the extra fees would be so outrageous I probably would have gone with a different property. Secondly, I booked this house thru VRBO. After doing so, I received an email telling me I have to download THEIR specific app “VACASA” in order to see my booking details, make changes etc. This was a bit frustrating because I am a business owner and have an extremely hectic life as it is. Needing to download an extra app to access information to a property I booked through a completely separate app was a head hache and unnecessary extra work for me that I really did not want to deal with. Thirdly, the price per night for this house was a bit extreme to me once we arrived and saw the place in person. Some of the furniture is broken. The room shown in photos with the hot tub is only found through a very dark and strange basement area. We did not even end up using the tub which was another disappointment. It just wasn’t very family friendly in my opinion. The beds were not comfortable, I left with a very sore back. There were no towels or toilet paper in the upstairs bathroom near the bedroom I slept in with my children, which made for an interesting shower situation. The house is also a different color than the pictures shown on the advertisement, which made it confusing to find initially. I honestly feel the listing is overpriced given the condition of the bathrooms, furniture etc.

Family Ski Weekend

Mixed reviews on our stay. The house is large enough for a group and although clean, it is dated. The resort amenities and skiing are easily accessible. However, the snow on the outside of the house was not cleaned up including the front stairs and porch. The keys do not open the front door. So, the only entrance is the garage side door with an automated code. The basement bedroom is impossible to sleep in. The furnace is constantly kicking on, and the toilet runs every 4-5 minutes. The basement bed is shot and sinks badly to the center. The upstairs showerheads are also coated in a gross substance. Heating is inconsistent with some areas of the house too warm and some cold. The ice maker didn't work, but there are two ice trays. Not enough for a full house of adults. There is a large gas grill on the deck which was nice to grill one evening for dinner.

Group lodging for skiers

Older home with older amenities but comfortable and well suited for ski group. Lots of beds on three levels so gives tenants separate floors for resting. Cute Christmas decor.

Daughter's 16th birthday weekend

Was overall ok. Posting said there would be firewood, thought there should have been more than 1 gas station bundle. Had an issue with hot water shutdown. Called vacasa and maintenance guy was promptly dispatched. He assessed the situation and determined the dehumidifier was in conflict with the a/c which took the water pressure causing the hot water heater to shut down. At that point we had to choose between a/c and hot water. After contacting the property manager on Monday she did refund the last day of our stay. Other than that, it went pretty well. This was my first time renting a vacation property and would consider doing it again based on the customer service we received for the issue we had.

Awesome wedding stay

Rented the house for family to stay for my daughter’s wedding. Accommodations catered to a wide variety of ages. It allowed us to continue the celebration well after the wedding was done. Also helped us to sit back and relax the next day.

Nice house near Crystal Mountain

Thanks overall we had a lovely time at the property. Pros: convenience to Crystal Mountain. Since it was summer we easily walked the 10 minutes everyday. Nice size house for 4 couples. Super response from the property managers when we call about a wasp problem by the entry door. They responded within 10 minutes of my call to spray. Cons: hard to regulate the temperatures of the different floors. Basement was super cold and it was too hot upstairs. We solved it with blankets and fans. Similar to other reviews the kitchen was not stocked for spices or some basic cooking utensils. Since we had read the other reviews we came prepared. Overall nice house and we would stay there again.

Beautiful house with some major issues

Let me start off by saying, that this is a beautiful house. Exactly like the pictures. The issues that we had were huge for our family though. We had asked prior to booking if we could get a person in a wheelchair in and the response was yes. We were willing to struggle with those front steps. But in the main floor of the house there is no bathroom. You have to go up steps which a big hardship for an 89 year old person. I take responsibility for not specifically asking about a bathroom on the main floor, but I did ask about getting around in a wheel chair and thought that was sufficient. Now I know I need to be more specific. The main issue was the hot water. We were a family of 10 in town for a wedding. After the first two people took a shower there was no more hot water. We called and were told that there is only a 50 gallon hot water tank so after two people shower it takes about an hour to re-heat. It had already been several hours, but even if it had come back, there is no way ten people can get ready for a wedding at 3 pm if you have to wait an hour after two take a shower. We were given access to another property so that we could shower and make it to the wedding which I truly appreciated. It was an inconvenience, but better than showing up to a wedding unbathed. Because this was a wedding weekend with other events the next day, we had to check out early and book a hotel so that we would not run into the hot water situation again. I've never left a bad review before, and I write this only so that people are aware about the hot water. It may not be important to others, but people should be aware of this. The stair situation is an issue unique to our family and would not be an issue to most. If we did not have my mother with us, no big deal. Like I said it is a beautiful house.
