The Hideaway | A Ridge-Top Retreat for Big Groups

Perched high on a quiet ridge overlooking a private pond and walking path, The Hideaway lives up to its name. This is a place where the world feels farther away, the air feels cleaner, and time slows just enough to let memories catch up.

Designed for large families and groups, this spacious five-bedroom chalet offers something rare. Togetherness when you want it, and privacy when you need it.

The home is thoughtfully divided into two fully independent living spaces, each with its own private entrance, kitchen, dining area, and sleeping quarters. It is perfect for multi-family trips, grandparents traveling with kids, or groups who want shared experiences without sacrificing personal space.

The first floor features two bedrooms with queen bunk beds, a full kitchen, dining area, and a full bath.
The second and third levels include two queen bedrooms, a loft-style bedroom with a queen bed and sleeper sofa, a second full kitchen, dining area, and another full bath.

From the large deck, you can look out over the peaceful pond, enjoy the sounds of nature, or sip coffee as the morning fog lifts off the water. At night, gather around the outdoor firepit for s’mores, stories, and star-filled skies.

After days spent boating, biking, or exploring Raystown, the gas fireplace, cozy seating, and multiple living spaces give everyone room to relax and unwind.

Beautiful location with a beautiful view

The rental was beautiful and spacious! Has an upstairs and downstairs to accommodate plenty of people. The snow was a pleasant surprise when we arrived which allowed for lots of outside play! The view was beautiful to wake up to. We will definitely be back!

A Vacation to Meet Every Need

The Hideaway had everything we needed and more. Everyone had plenty of space to spread out, even our dog. Most important to us was location. There was quick and easy access to the lake, bike trails,ice cream, and Huntingdon. We took advantage of all of it! Plus the property manager quickly responded to our request to add another day because everyone was having such a good time.

Raystown Mt. Biking

This was the perfect spot for our family to relax and enjoy the weekend while my son and husband had a Mt. Bike race event. We don’t tent camp like a lot of their teammates so this house was a great option for us and so close to Seven Points and all the trails there! We hope to return and do some more biking. Also if you enjoy walking or running this home is in a nice quiet neighborhood for going on walks and we saw lots of deer around.

Nice place. It took some adjustment to get used to the first and second floors not being connected. I did have an uninvited visitor run across the room and under the fireplace on Saturday night. (mouse).All in all a thumbs up.

Hideaway fits!

This lot is tree surrounded so you have privacy. We had 4 vehicles and a bass boat, there was room for all to park. The inside was very nice. Lots of natural light in the upstairs unit. Did feel smaller than pictures. We missed that the levels did not connect inside and the temperature is cooler downstairs than up. We enjoyed corn hole on lower level patio while playing music, s’mores with fire pit and card games on upper deck late day. All in all, we had a great vacation.

Family Togetherness

We liked the location and it was easy to find. The sleeping arrangements for the 9 of us was great. It appeared to be clean, but the lower level had an odd odor and on our last day, we found a dead mouse in a trap under the sink. The space was much smaller than we expected and the picture showed a long table to seat 9 or more, but there was no such table. The bath towels are horrible. We have stayed at another place in the area which was so much nicer and cost less, but due to our growing family, does not have enough beds. We will look for a different place if we stay in this area again.

We are very sorry about the mouse, all of our homes are serviced regularly but sometimes mother nature can find its way in which can be out of our control. If you are boating on Raystown Lake this home is in the perfect location. It is very close to the Marina and has ample parking on the property. The community this home is located in is very nice and well taken care of. There is a very decent size pond in the community that has a walking path around it. It is perfect if you have a dog. It is within walking distance from the home. There are a total of 4 bedrooms and a loft. There are two bedrooms, the loft, and a full size bath upstairs. There are two bedrooms and a full size bath downstairs. There are also 2 full kitchens, one upstairs and one downstairs. You cannot get to the upstairs from the inside, outdoor access only to both levels. This may cause problems if the weather is not favorable. The listing was very confusing… we did not know what to expect when we arrived.

Cozy and Bright

A downside to the space was not knowing what switches operated what for the lighting. When in the Loft area, there is no lights or blinds for the windows on the second floor to where the driveway lights would shine through at night. Then you were awake when the shine would shine in on your face. The rooms also had blinds but, personally would prefer curtains to block the sun so we weren’t woken up at 6-7am. Neighborhood is nice and quite however, there seems to be some building of other houses that the location is more so the 3rd driveway on the right when turning in, not the second. Other than those few things the space was a home away from home and very spacious. Everyone was suited in their own rooms and it was a blast.

A Family Favorite

This is only the second time we’ve been to Raystown. We only stayed for 3 nights, the weather was a little back and forth, but regardless, we packed more fun in that short amount of time then one can imagine. When the kids walked into the house, they looked like it was Christmas morning. Plenty of room, comfortable sleeping arrangements, no complaints at all. Plenty of parking. Beautiful community with plenty of privacy. Beautiful little pond walk for the dogs right down from the bottom of the driveway. The house is also located near all the fun. Bike trails are 3 minutes away, the visitor center, bike skills park and lake are 5 minutes away. There’s a local store with grocery basics, ice cream, deli and camping/fishing gear right down the road. We had a day on the bike trails, a day swimming at the lake, evenings playing cards and watching movies, it was an amazing time. As far as restaurants….we were advised to check out Mactown Pizza Plus. Incredible pizza, subs and and customer service. The owner was incredibly friendly, the food was better then anything we have at home. Thanks Salvo!!! The only thing I noticed while staying at the house wasn’t really a big deal. Just be sure to wipe off the counters, store all food away properly and rinse everything off well after eating or drinking. The ants definitely want to get ahold of anything they can around the sink area. But, that’s not really a complaint, the same thing happens at my own home…..it’s just advice. Seal things properly, wipe off counters after cooking or eating and store most of your food in the fridge……common knowledge. Overall the entire place was extremely clean!! 5 stars…..would love to come back as soon as possible! Thank You!

My family and I enjoyed staying at this property due to the location and cleanliness.

Excellent location and convenience to launch a boat and spend the day at Seven Points Beach. The property was clean and they provided every kitchen tool needed to prepare meals. I would definitely stay here again!!

The property was nice and it was clean. They had towels but no washcloths or hand towels. That first set of steps is not for the older people.

Horrible urine scent

Upon check in (a day late because of a softball tournament which was relayed to the property manager) we were immediately hit with the strongest scent of animal urine. We are very aware that the property is pet friendly, but there is a very large difference between ‘pet friendly’ and ‘pet ruined’. We are familiar with pets and their needs, as well as their smells. We often dog sit for neighbors and friends alike. I have to express my strong dissatisfaction with the property listing vs the reality of what was presented. The pet hair up and down the banister of the stairs displayed the lack of cleaning that took place. It smelled strongly of cat urine and the scent of a litter box. All concerned we’re relayed to property manager in which she responded with having the house vacuumed again and the smells are to be expected with a pet friendly property. We are very displeased and disgusted by the house. The fire pit is conveniently placed next to the propane tank. Nothing about this property met any low expectations we had walking into it. Appalled by the lack of costumer service and lack of knowledge by the property owner when I asked her if she has been physically at the location recently because the smell was inexcusable — she had not. They took $1300 from us and we didn’t even stay!!! Absolute theft.

This person is a complete liar they never stayed at our house they tried canceling the day before their booking which is well past their cancellation policy date lied to Vrbo with the story to try to get a refund you can see this house on other forums and has never had any review like this before you very wary of this customer they are not honest whatsoever
