The area was amazing,located on a golf course. The only issue we had ,was the fire alarm went off for the biulding around 930pm,was super loud and waited outside for good 15-20min for it to shut off. We were on the bottom floor,the guests who stayed above us,had children than ran around from 6am to 1030pm,it was SUPER LOUD,hard to sleep at times.Other than that,it was great!!!

Mini vaca

Went to Bellaire to vacation with our kids who were renting a vacation home on the lake. We didn’t need much 
 just a bed and a shower and this was fine for our needs

Check in nightmare

We came to check in with our reservation only to find out that our room was already given to someone else earlier in the day. It then took 30 minutes and several phone calls later to find us a room. The room we had was nice, however the bathroom facet leaked and was falling off the wall.

short two night stay

My husband and I got in very late the first night and were unsure where to go. We called the number listed at 12:30 and the phone was answered right away with a pleasant person who got us to the right place. The room was clean and had all we needed.

Pretty property in confusing area

We stayed at The Legends, part of the vast resort called Shanty Creek. The resort is in a remote area of Michigan, but still close to the Chain of Lakes and Lake Michigan. It is a ski/golf resort so it should be remote. The instructions provided through the VRBO listing were not exact and we had to guess where to go. The room itself was very clean but the furnishings run down. The beds had 2 worn out box springs under the mattress. The pillows were small yet comfortable. The frig/microwave/ and coffee maker were old. The property was a mix of resort and residential on Schuss Mountain making for interesting driving and spectacular views. The pool was great. A full resort with dogs was pretty quiet except when people pulled their luggage across the decks above our heads. This is not a quick trip to swim in Lake Michigan or Torch Lake but the stay was pleasant.

Golf vacation

Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Plenty of towels and necessities. Conveniently located to golf courses and nearby town of Bellaire. Would definitely book again.

We love shanty creek resorts and the legend inn meets our needs nicely. The only complaint was the beds were uncomfortable.

Wonderful find

We were visiting Michigan from Maryland for a family reunion. My husband found this property on vrbo and we immediately rented it. All the amenities that came with the room were such a plus. The grounds was always in pristine condition. Great find!!!!

Legend Cottages rental

Love staying at these properties. Perfect location for lots of activities and day trips. The room is nice. Housekeeping did not show up during our 4 night stay even after I called on the 3rd day. Other than that we enjoyed our stay there.

Our room was very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay again. I only give it a 4 rating because the doorway was covered in cobwebs. I Will definitely recommend to my family and friends

perfect for low-need stay

Perfect for any "motel" type need. This property is basically a motel. Typical room with two beds on one wall, with a sink/vanity at the end of the room, and bathroom. If you don't need more than that, it's what you are looking for. No view from this property. We didn't need that either.

Wedding weekend

We stayed here while attending a wedding on the resort property. This was the most reasonably priced place for us. It’s close to everything on the property
walking distance to the lake view hotel, Starbucks, legend/summit golf courses. 5 minute drive to Bellaire. Rooms were very clean, quiet and beautiful views. The rooms are very roomy.
