Make this personal beach cottage yours for a private getaway with family or friends. This cottage was just built, everything is clean and fresh. It has 3 bedrooms, 4 baths sleeps and sleeps 10. Pura Vida is 1440 sqft of well thought out space, plenty of room for a large group, and never feels cramped. The beach is just a short walk across the street and if you prefer a calmer body of water Little Lagoon has a large beach just down the boardwalk. Enjoy fishing??? There is a fishing pier on the boardwalk just behind the cottage. You can easily park 4 vehicles on the ground level, so invite your friends to come to visit during your stay. There are lots of activities available from biking, fishing, shopping, kayaking parasailing and much more.

Spring break 2025

We love this area, it's on the main drag but also a quiet area. Not far from entertainment & restaurants. Easy walking to the beach & the walking path is right behind the facility. We would definitely recommend West side cottages.

Great location

We really enjoyed our trip. Cottage was well located. Easy access to beach and boardwalks for fishing. We were able to ride our bikes safely to the center of Gulf Shores. Only downside was no beach supplies for our use. Could use a new grill, toaster wasn’t working properly and missing some light bulbs. Advised David of these issues but we’re not resolved during our stay.

From the Po House to the Big House

Overall great place to stay. Would come back again. Very clean. No bugs. Easy check in and out process. No place is perfect but this is as good as it gets for a home away from home.

GREAT Stay Here

This is our second time booking this location and it has been flawless both times. We enjoy the convenience of having 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The beach is a short walk right across the street. The host is excellent at communicating. We had a hurricane pass through our hometown on the night we were supposed to arrive there, and he was extremely understanding of the circumstances we were facing. We will definitely be rebooking!

The home was in great shape and had everything we needed. Beach was easily accessible across the street and restaurants were close by. David was easy to get in contact with and very responsive.

Gulf Shores 2024

We enjoyed our stay here. The location was pretty good, with access to the beach and the Little Lagoon in walking distance. For the most part it was a pretty good stay we just had a few hiccups- there was not a ladder for the top bunk so someone had to sleep on the couch (n it the pul out part), the pool was closed a whole day due to cleaning but no signs were posted, and it is one of the least stocked places we have ever rented from- no beach towels (we were informed of this but after we already left for the long drive) or things to use at the pool/beach, only one dish rag and two towels in the kitchen, toaster only worked sometime. We were just used to past rentals having more stocked for guests.

Family beach vacation

The cottage was very clean. There was plenty of space for our group of 7. The location was convenient for a walk to the beach and it wasn’t far from restaurants and shopping.

Great stay for baseball!

Property was perfect for our baseball tourney in Foley and Gulf Shores! Our family of 6 had plenty of room, and the 4 full baths were a huge plus. Pathway behind the complex was great for walks with a lagoon view, and path to the beach across the street or under bridge was an easy walk. There are also lagoon views from the unit that are not advertised. Unit located around mostly houses, so not dealing with the crowds of the high rises. Great stay, and would recommend!

Beautiful place

This is a beautiful newly built home that was plenty big enough for my family of 3 adults and 3 teenagers. The beach is right across the street and the lagoon is right behind the house. Couldn’t have asked for a more better set up than this. We will definitely stay here again!

Family vacation

Family of 10; 6 adults and 4 teen/preteen kids. Cottage had everything we needed, spacious and nicely furnished, very clean. 4 full bathrooms, good internet service. Easy walk to the beach, kids liked the lagoon and swimming in the pool at night. Beach was beautiful, lifeguard there, much less crowded than high rise condo area further east. Parking for 4 vehicles was nice. Enjoyed unit location in the back corner of the complex-quiet, away from pool, and close to back walkway and pier, enjoyed watching sunset. Owner promptly answered emails. We were overall very pleased and had a great time.

Baseball Tournament

Perfect location with enough space for our ten, as three generations were attending a baseball tournament. Four bathrooms were a big bonus, along with the bunk beds in one room. We all enjoyed the pool, which has extended bench seating in the water along one side. Youngest grandson loved the fountain in the shallow end entry/seating area. Sunset views over Little Lagoon from the porch (just turn the tall chairs at the top of the stairs). We enjoyed early morning walks in both directions along the paved path behind West Side Cottages. Before the tide comes in, hermit crabs are scuttling to the left of the little fishing pier. It’s a quick walk from the same path to cross over to the beach. I’d recommend bringing a wagon to transport your beach chairs & supplies to avoid multiple trips. Quiet nights with no noise concerns at any time during our visit. The ceiling fans kept every space comfortable and we were there on a very hot week. The porch also has a large outdoor table with bench seating. This unit was a convenient location & very comfortable for our family. We highly recommend this unit and hope to return again next year!

Family vacation

Beautiful condo that is nicely appointed and conveniently located to the beach and other activities. It has a nice pool and the property in the complex is clean and well kept. We had 6 adults and one child and more than enough room. The host, David is the right combo of available for any questions but not intrusive. Would recommend!

Nice place but not very close to beach access

I wanted to like this property more! It was a nice house but way farther walk to the beach than anticipated by descriptions and pics listed. If you don’t plan to go to the beach a few times a day with a bunch of stuff then this house would be great. But with little kids and lots of beach stuff and such it’s a long want to the beach.
