Great place to stay

Had a great two nights here lovely spot and great rooms quiet and comfortable. Good breakfast treats for the four of us Only down side was no real cooking / Kitchen facilities but all good and maybe some comfy seating would be good

Please note there is no kitchen to wash any plates and cutlery, floor is very cold.

I would suggest if you are looking at staying in this quiet and peaceful property that you take your own seat if possible as the ones on site are very uncomfortable. I would also suggest you take some jandles or slippers as the tiled floor is very cold!! There is no wifi or phone service, so not ideal if you need to do emails at the end of the day.

Country Getaway

We had a very nice stay at Wanstead.It was in a beautiful setting and the beds were extremely comfortable. There was lots of yummy things left for our breakfast. You do need to be aware that the cooking facilities are limited to a microwave and small bench oven. Also the only seating in the breakfast room was on the dining room chairs so that did make it a bit difficult when our friends came to visit us but there were chairs that we could bring out from the bedrooms. Overall a very pleasant comfortable stay.

Great base

We needed somewhere to stay close to family we were visiting and this was the perfect spot. The host was helpful and kind as we had to shorten our stay due to the COVID lockdown. Would stay again.

Country retreat

Great spacious place to stay. Lovely host who was very accommodating. The only thing to be aware of is that there is no sink in the kitchen and you have to do the dishes in the bedroom ensuite.

Perfect Getaway

The property is set in a lovely secluded spot, sheltered by a variety of beautiful trees. It is an excellent base to explore the surrounding area of Central Hawkes Bay, as well as a place to relax and recharge after a busy year. The accommodation was stylish and spacious, and very quiet. Margaret was warm and friendly, but not intrusive. She thoughtfully provided supplies for consumption upon our arrival, including some lovely Hawkes Bay fresh fruit. Overall, we had a thoroughly enjoyable 7 night stay, and highly recommend it to any one who wants a peaceful and relaxing place for some time out.

A wonderful setting in a beautiful old homestead garden.

The accommodation is very stylish, a classy design, and nicely furnished. Also there are some really good paintings, to add to the effect. Away in the countryside, and perfectly quiet. The stars at night are quite unbelievable. Altogether one of the best places I have ever stayed in.

This is a 'rustic' but very clean and tidy old cottage.

This is a 'rustic' but very clean and tidy old cottage. It was very comfortable and had attractive and interesting art work painted by the owner on the walls. Great place to go to get away from it all and relax! Highly recommend.
