Om boendet

Den perfekta platsen att komma bort från allt, det lilla townshipet i Torrent Bay har cirka 40 permanenta bostäder av vilka de flesta är tomma genom året.
Bukten livnar upp på sommaren när de flesta av fastigheterna används vilket ger en vänlig atmosfär.
Barnsäkra stränder och lagun, massor av buskar promenader utanför dörren.
Njut av känslan av att nöja dig med en uppfriskande drink medan dagstopparna rusar av gårde ombord på en vattentaxi.
Det finns två hem på sidan så att större grupper kan tillgodoses.
På grund av att det är utanför nätet finns det ingen ström i enheterna, med undantag för belysning och kylfrys.
Mobilmottagning är också ojämn, men kan vanligtvis hittas på den främre stranden, där vodafonätverk är något bättre än gnisten. Det finns en betaltelefon i skjulet vid bryggan med gratis lokala samtal.

Sunday Star Times hade en bra artikel på Torrent Bay på webbplatsen för saker redan i februari som fortfarande kan sökas. "Himmelsk, trots sandiga togs"

Torrent Bay Bach

Everything you need in a traditional kiwi bach - including the jigsaw puzzle. Private location away from the walkers. Easy access to the beach. Canoes, deck chairs and bbq. Loved our stay here.

Lovely stay in Torrent Bay!

We loved the house! Cosy space with everything we needed. Enjoyed the outdoor seating area and fireplace especially, we were lucky and had the place all to ourselves. Kayaks were a great bonus to have access to, we had a lot of fun. It was initially a little tricky to find where we were staying, but once we were there, our hosts took great care of us. The local Weka were great company and mostly very well behaved! I would recommend this bach to anyone looking to stay in Torrent bay. Thanks again!

Very relaxing stay

Close to the beach with everything you need and nothing you don’t. Was great having kayaks. I hadn’t read the listing properly and wasn’t prepared for having no way to charge anything (my dads hearing aids for example) but had I read the info and been prepared this wouldn’t have been a problem.

A week in paradise

Ultimate place to relax.

Torrent Bay is our most favourite family holiday destination. Now the grandchildren are enjoying it just as much as their parents did. Kayaking, swimming, paddle boarding right on your doorstep and no cars, cell phone reception or T.V. Nothing to do but relax. Fernbank is well equipped, comfortable beds and ideal for a family holiday.

Wonderful Week

We had a wonderful week at this bach as we did 10 years ago when we stayed there. The property is as advertised, a nice family bach away from the hustle of cars. life, and the internet. Bring books and card games though there are a good number of books and board games present at the property. The plug from the fridge has a usb port that can charge phones if you want to use these for reading/pictures. I would definitely consider staying here in the future, particular when family comes from abroad as there are two sides to the property.

A lovely visit to the Abel Tasman track

We loved the two houses and had plenty of space to socialise. Great location for walks and the beach was lovely. It was very rainy so not as bright as it would normally be but we still had fun.

Brilliant spot

Its not quite the ritz, but close, and has got most of what you need for a great beach stay - we had both units between 3 families and it served us splendidly for over a week. Private and secluded property, its great! Stuart was brilliant to deal with and helped in any way he could before our arrival. An amazing and special part of our country. We will be back indeed. Thank you for having us at your pad Stuart.

Pre Christmas getaway

Superb remote location and a privilege to stay as a non-resident in this sought-after community of long established and friendly bach owners. Accessible, empty & safe beach, but watch out for occasional sting rays and boarding the Sea Shuttle in stormy seas at low tide; easy coastal walks in both directions; great to be off grid for a week. Stuart's communications and instructions were prompt and clear, but for the price charged, we were disappointed to find a superficial level of cleanliness on arrival at the bach with a dirty fireplace, mould on the freezer drawers, mice droppings and a dead rat in the bathroom cupboard etc. A pre-season Spring clean and a longer, more thorough servicing between guests would have saved us a few hours of cleaning to restore what is otherwise a very comfortable bach and an ideal location for a week of mixed weather for an intergenerational family of 5 adults and 2 under 6 years. Every bach we know has its own story and our experience was probably due to exceptional circumstances, but it certainly won't put us off from wanting to return another time.

Peaceful Getaway

We loved our stay - it is a true Kiwi bach, homely, cosy (great fire), with everything you need, without being impersonal like a hotel. Torrent Bay is just beautiful and it is a privilege to be able to book a house to stay there. We met Stuart, who brought in some extra firewood for us. He was very friendly, helpful and great to chat to. We got good cell reception on the beach with 2 degrees, but were also very happy to not get reception at the house. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Stunning location - so relaxing and beautiful

This is a traditional kiwi bach located 50m from the beach - it's quiet and private. There is everything you need for a relaxing holiday, comfy beds, lots of books and games etc. The kayaks were fabulous and added so much to our stay - the kids had a great time exploring the lagoons. The solar power worked fabulously, there's USB points for phone charging and a big new fridge. Friends booked the adjoining bach, so to have two places together, but our own space, was fantastic. We will definitely be back. The location is outstanding.

Superb location to get away from it all.

Superb location to get away from it all. Great for our kids aged 5, 8 and 9 who could quickly met other kids from other batches with safe swimming and warm water and great day walks if you want to like Cleopatra falls.

Torrent Bay

We are regular visitors to Torrent Bay. This property is central and close to the front beach but has only a thumbnail view and limited sun. The property is tired, but that adds to the "bach" feel. But the batteries needed to be boosted for a new guest. Turning on the fridge drained all the power and we lost food - not good when replacement fresh produce is so distant

Secluded bach ideal for exploring Abel Tasman

Great easy care homely bach. Easy to contact. Staying in Fernbank is Lovely no stress as don’t have to worry about sand too much as it’s well lived in. Beautiful wooden coffee table and bookcase with a great selection of books on offer Great kayaking in the bay. cute and curious wekas. Lovely birdsong.
