Lerwick ligger vid stranden med fantastisk utsikt och gyllene sand och ligger inbäddat i en buske miljö med inhemska fåglar på bakdörren.
Huset är också fullt utrustat med pussel, spel och lokala historia böcker. Lerwick ligger 15 minuters promenad från centrum, men en liten bil är försedd med huset. Detta är en utmärkt bas för ett Stewart Island äventyr och huset är väl inrättat för en stor familj.

Perfection

Our group of 8 just loved the house and location. There was plenty of room for everyone and was very well equipped with everything you would need. It was very comfortable and was the ultimate kiwi bach - very homely and we loved the family photos. Being right across the road from the beach was awesome. A perfect place for a few days solitude. Hiking friends

We were a group of golfing and hiking friends. This house was perfect for a big group. Having a vehicle available to us was very convenient.

Lerwick lodge

A fabulous property for families and group of friends. The location is amazing. The use of a car which came with the property was an absolute bonus. The bathrooms were very clean and there were plenty of towels. The bedrooms were clean and there was plenty of spare blankets. Quantities of wood and coal perhaps need to be checked as we couldn’t find coal and there wasnt much wood. Unfortunately the previous guests had not left the key in the lockbox. Nor had they left much diesel in the car so we topped up the diesel. A couple of oven dishes in the oven hadn’t neen cleaned so we did not use. However we loved our stay and would recommend to others.

Large versatile house by the beach

Big house that works for groups or families with everything you need for a stay in Stewart Island including a car! Right by a beautiful beach and not far out of Oban. No wifi but has cellphone reception.

Stunning home for a group of friends

The house is just stunning opposite Butterfield beach. Two sitting areas at the front allows you to sit and gaze out at sea views. Large and ample space for a group of friends to spread out. The large dinning table was great to sit around and share our meals and stories. Great to have so many bedrooms so only a couple of us had to share. The beds/pillows were comfy and having 3 bathrooms a bonus when you have 8 women sharing. The house was warm and cosy with ample wood and coal provided. Having the use of the car was the icing on the cake! Stewart island was stunning, numerous choices of walks and beaches to visit. The bird life amazing and the weather was kind. I highly recommend staying at this home and hope to be back Thank you Margaret + friends

Fabulous view!

Loved our stay here, great location with the beach at your doorstep. Lots of cosy areas in the house so you can spread out. Comfortable beds too. Really had everything you could need and the use of the car was an extra bonus. Would definitely come back!!

Perfect holiday

The house is huge and there were only two of us so we closed various "wings" and enjoyed the wide range of chairs, couches, divans, views from different parts of the main house. The coal range kept us,warm when it was cold. The family owners have generously left a lot of basic food and "stuff" for guests to use. It has a lovely relaxed family feel. Having a car as part of the deal is brilliant. Thanks for a great stay.

Loved staying here!

We loved the location, looking out on the beach and hearing the birds in the mornings. It was so nice to have a car to go with the place, so that we could explore more of Stewart Island. We found the house to be charming, with many photos, posters and memories of families that had enjoyed over the years (which reminded us of our childhood growing up!). It was wonderful NOT having wifi (easy to access in town), and the wood burning stove kept the house cozy and delightful. We loved it here and would stay here again!

A Butterfields Beach beauty, perfect for 2 people or 2 large families.

We found this property excellent. In amongst trees by a quiet beach just perfect for relaxing, yet close enough that you could walk to Oban. The Tuis in the garden unfazed by our presence, kept us entertained. Two Kaka visited, displaying their antics, hopping up to the window to say hello.
