☀️ TL;DR
🏡 Clean, comfy 3-bed coasty cottage with elite chill vibes.
🔥 Heat pump, fireplace, fleece sheets & electric blankets — still on Hot Choc Mode while the coast pretends it’s warm.
🚿 Water pressure that’ll blast your worries (and sins) off.
📶 FREE WiFi + 🍿 FREE Netflix.
🔧 New cabin from mid-Nov = house will sleep up to 10–12 total.
🐴 We’re an equestrian fam often away for comps, so weekends are a 2-night min (Fri–Sun) — but if you really need a 1-night stay, message us and we’ll see what we can do.
🐈 Neighbour’s cat Leela might wander in — pat her or feed her if you’re feeling generous, but no sleepovers or couch surfing. Don’t unlock the cat flap for her, or she’ll move in and start paying rent in attitude 😂
👶 Fully fenced — ideal if you’ve got kids who like to test your patience.
🌴 Perfect for mahi, tangi, time-outs, or just escaping life for a bit.
🐴 A Little About Us
We’re a busy equestrian family, usually off most weekends (Nov → Easter) for comps. Because of that, we can’t manage same-day changeovers while we’re gone, so weekend bookings have a 2-night minimum (Friday–Sunday). If you absolutely can’t stay two nights but still need a weekend booking, send us a message — we’ll do our best to make it work.
🏠 The Space
A 3-bedroom coasty cottage that’s comfy, clean, and gives “crash here, do nothing” energy. It’s warm, has most things you need, and the vibes are elite. Perfect for working out of town, tangi downtime, or just disappearing from real life for a bit.
🛋️ Lounge
Big couch, two La-Z-Boys, smart TV, FREE Netflix, fireplace + heat pump.
Cozy when it’s chilly, cooler when it’s hot AF.
🍳 Kitchen
Fridge/freezer, 5-burner gas hob + electric oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, air fryer, rice cooker, slow cooker, electric frypan, Nutribullet, egg beater, and all the basic gear — pots, pans, trays, platters.
Cook a mean feed or bake your feelings. Your call.
🍽️ Dining
Table + 4 chairs — good for dinner, cards, or yarns.
🛁 Bathroom / Laundry
The shower’s in the laundry (or maybe the laundry’s in the shower 🤷♀️).
Water pressure is strong enough to waterblast off the weight of the world.
Toilet, vanity, mirror, body wash, shampoo & conditioner included. Washing machine + dryer (old but solid) + outdoor clothesline for that sun-dried freshness.
🛏️ Bedrooms
Room 1: Double bed + electric blanket, wardrobe, dresser.
Room 2: Queen bed + electric blanket, desk & chair, wardrobe, dresser.
Room 3: Two king singles + electric blankets — compact but comfy.
All linen, towels & basics provided.
Fully fenced — ideal if you’ve got kids who like to push you over the edge.
☕ Still on Hot Choc Mode
Fleece sheets, electric blankets & heavy winter duvets are still on the beds for a few extra weeks, as it still gets chilly at night out here. She’s giving hot choc, electric blanket, Netflix & blackout-curtain date until the coast remembers it’s meant to be warmer.
🔧 A Few Updates
Some fresh paint, a couple of new appliances, and a bit of extra love for the laundry area (where the shower lives) is on the way. Some things might look slightly different from the photos, but we promise it’s for the better.
🏡 Brand new cabin being built, and will be available from mid-November. Perfect for bigger groups or whānau stays. Main house sleeps 6 + cabin will add about 4–6 more = up to 10–12 guests total.
🐈 Bonus Character — Leela
Leela isn’t our cat — she’s the neighbour’s, but she thinks she pays rent. If guests are home, she’ll wander in like she owns the place. She’s harmless, chatty, and loves a good nosey around.
You’re welcome to give her a pat or feed her if you’re feeling generous, but please don’t let her sleep over or climb on the furniture. And whatever you do, don’t unlock the cat flap for her — she’ll move in, take over the house, and start shredding the mail 😂
🚪 Guest Access
Guests have full access to the house, section, and outdoor areas. It’s all yours to enjoy with no shared spaces.
Self check-in is easy with a lockbox by the door. The code will be sent to you automatically.
There’s plenty of parking on the property or on the front lawn, including room for a horse float, horse truck, trailer, log truck, or work vehicle if needed.
The new cabin is being built and finished, and will be available from mid-November for larger groups.
💬 Interaction with Guests
📍 Heads up, we live rural with no cell reception.
If you need anything during your stay, flick us a message through the Airbnb app. We check it often and will get back to you as soon as we can.
If you need fresh linen, extra towels, or something’s not quite right, just message us and we’ll sort it.
We like to give guests their space but we’re close enough to help if you need it. We’ll always do our best to make sure you’re comfy.
🌿 Other Things to Note
🐚 We’re on the coast. Fresh air, clear skies, and the occasional rooster, moo, or neigh from a paddock nearby.
🏡 The house is 70s retro with a few quirks but she’s clean, comfy, and works hard for her guests.
🐈 You might meet Leela, the neighbour’s cat (she’s a local celebrity). She sometimes wanders in uninvited but she’s friendly. Please don’t let her stay the night or unlock the cat flap for her. She’ll move in and start running the place 😂
💡 Power cuts can happen when the coast throws a tantrum but they’re rare. Candles are in the pantry if you need them.
🧘♀️ If you’re after peace, simplicity, and no judgment quiet time, you’ll love it here.
