Lesley emigrated from England in 1970, and by chance met Ian who was her landlord for a short time. They married in 1973, and lived in Unionville with their two sons.
Ian had loved cottage life in northern Quebec, where he grew up, and wanted the same experience for his family, They were downhill skiers and bought the land on Lake Vernon in 1981, camped on it for 5 years during warmer months, and when the tents started to leak, decided in 1986, to build a cottage.
They moved overseas in 1989 for Ian to set up the emergency medicine program at the first medical school in the Sultanate of Oman and returned permanently to Canada in 2005, when they built the apartment wing that is now rented out short or long term.
Besides caring for the property their current hobbies include curling, golf, book club, bridge, hiking, cooking and socialising.
They adopted a wonderful golden rescue lab in 2014 and Robbie gives all the guests a friendly welcome.
