Welcome to the Railroad Retreat—a brand new, thoughtfully designed 660 sq ft jumbo tiny home offering style, comfort, and character. Located just a 5-minute (0.3 mile) walk to downtown Paonia and nestled by the historic coal train line, this upscale retreat offers mesa views, curated interiors, and a truly unique stay for solo travelers and couples. • Living Room: Light-filled open-concept space with vaulted Aspen ceilings, Harkness oak floors, and large windows. Features include a cozy sofa, leather armchairs, smart TV, electric fireplace, and Bluetooth stereo.
• Kitchen: Fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, cookware, dinnerware, toaster, coffee maker, and a dining nook.
• Bedroom: Plush queen-size bed, full-length mirror, ample storage (closet, drawers, hanging space), and direct access to a covered back patio.
• Bathroom: Modern and spacious with a rainfall shower, vanity, medicine cabinet, and in-unit washer/dryer.
• Loft: Accessible via full staircase, with views of the mesa, treetops, and sky. Offers additional seating, a sofa chaise that converts to a queen bed, yoga mat, and light weights.

While the train passes 1–3 times per day, the home is well insulated, and we provide a noise machine and earplugs for your comfort. Marc is a Colorado native, and Julie is originally from Australia. We traveled North America full time by RV for 6+ years, and visited all 50 USA States before 50, before discovering Paonia. We love sharing all the gems with visitors, and being able to give them a real taste of Paonia with a touch of luxury, through hosting them at our Railroad Retreat.

We instantly fell in love with the scenic mountains of Paonia, the small town charm, the friendly laid-back vibes, our door recreation, and the quality of food and wine, thanks to the town’s agritourism focus. It’s the kind of place where you can just unplug, relax, and enjoy life moment by moment.

The convenient location, views, upscale touches, and the story of the jumbo tiny home itself. It was intentionally designed (repurposing many high quality materials) to both maximize the space and location and celebrate the history of Paonia (then and now) via thoughtful touches and decor.
And of course, the front row view of the historic Union Pacific coal train is a unique feature - and a highlight you won't forget!
