Special lakefront cottage

We had such a wonderful stay - excellent location, great communication with the property manager, plenty of space for 3 adults and 2 kids, well stocked kitchen, and very clean. We hope to be back very soon!

Great Place.

Great overall experience. Beach and swim area was sandy and free of seaweed. Very nice for the kids. It does stay shallow for a good 200 yards out before becoming deep. House was really nice and clean. I do recommend renting a boat for a couple days from the marina next door. The true gems of Higgins lake are only accessible by boat. Would recommend this rental. 5/5.

Family vacation 2024

This is our third year at this cottage. Great location . Enjoyed the view, dock and fire pit. We look forward to staying next year.

Cute Lake House - Wonderful Outdoor Space

The house is newly renovated and has a beautiful outdoor space with firepit and dock. The owner was easy to communicate with and the home is well stocked. The home needed a few very minor repairs (screens and shower door off the tracks) but overall is an adorable space. One heads up, the only bathroom is on the main level and the 3 bedrooms are upstairs. So with little kids or older people who get up often in the night it can be a challenge. We had bummer weather and two sick kids, but love Higgins lake and this is a good property.

Great place!

My family and I had a wonderful stay! It was so peaceful. The house is right on the lake and the kids loved being able to play in the sand and go swimming! We had a great stay and will definitely book another stay there!

Best overall lakefront property we’ve rented!

We stayed at this beautiful home on Higgins Lake for 1 week. The house looked newly remodeled with breathtaking views of the lake! It was only a few minutes drive from our friend’s place so it was nice to hang out with them all week. We enjoyed the huge fire pit & sandy beach. Communication with the owner is fantastic. The only downside is the house has 1 full bath. No half bath or toilet. I grew up in a house with a big family with 1 1/2 baths & we were often thankful for that 1/2! Lol. Having said that, I would stay here again & would recommend it 100%, especially since it is pet-friendly. We only have 1 medium size dog but she’s really good & we’re responsible owners. It’s not easy to find a nice pet-friendly property for this price range. I just hope renters are respectful of this property & take great care of it, so it is available for future renters. This is the only house we were sad to leave & we’ve stayed at many nice homes. You can’t beat this lake!

Great Place

This is our 3rd year coming to Higgins Lake and by far this is the best place we stayed at. It was very clean, had a great view and awesome fire pit.

Wonderful Get Away

We went week of 4th of July. This home has an excellent view of beautiful lake Higgins! The home was super clean and loved the open kitchen with huge island for meal prep/eating area. As description of home says it was remodeled, so every room was like new. Nice sandy lake front area with fire pit where we enjoyed making s’mores and watching fireworks around the lake. There was a moor available for our boat and we enjoyed boating.

Relaxing Cottage Stay

Overall, the cottage was very nice. Cottage is in a good location close to the state park and walking trails and of course the Dairy Queen. Owner provides towels and linens and many kitchen accessories and high end appliances which we appreciated. It is Located down a quiet lane. We did have a few exceptions…the air conditioning does not cool the upstairs sufficiently, the driveway turned to mud when a little rain fell making it difficult to exit the property for a walk, and we were also told we could dock our 18 foot boat off the dock and that was not possible because the water was too shallow and we had to tie up offshore, also the dock seems unstable.

Awesome beach front cabin

Had a great week with the family even though the weather did not cooperate. Really nice and updated cabin with sandy firepit area outside and dock with paddle boards and a paddle boat. The area is cool too, little sandy beach area at one end of the road and the store and Dairy Queen is at the other end. We rode our bikes down there when it wasn’t raining. Kids had fun swimming, I anchored my boat just off the dock and we caught lots of fish out by the island. Rented a pontoon at the marina one day and that was great, it’s literally 3 doors down the road. Jake emailed often and answered all my questions quickly. Would definitely come back!

My review

The inside was extremely clean and newly renovated. The view wonderful. The deck and patio furniture needs a cleaning and weeding needs to be done on the property.
