Located in the beautiful Gulf Coast town of Venice, Laurel Bungalow is nestled in the quiet neighborhood known as the Historic Edgewood District, just off the Island of Venice. Enjoy all the luxuries of Florida right under your roof or hop on your bicycle and ride 1/2 mile to the Legacy Trail, 1 mile to downtown Venice or 2 miles to Venice Beach or Casperson's Beach (the Sharks Tooth Capital of the World). Laurel Bungalow boasts a private heated saltwater pool, outdoor kitchen w/ Green Egg and gas grill, covered seating area with television, fire table, outdoor shower and detached "pool house" with a queen bed and home theater with 86" TV. The home also has a cozy screened porch with separate fenced in side yard. The main house has a comfortable living room, dining table that easily seats 8, kitchen, laundry room/bath, 2 bedrooms (one king bed and one queen bed) plus office with high speed WiFi. 3rd bedroom (with queen bed) is located in detached pool house. Our neighborhood has a playground/park, baseball fields, tennis & pickle ball courts. Conveniently located to all Venice has to offer~ beach, shopping, restaurants, theater, golf, bike trails, you name it! ~ and everything else you'll find right under your own roof! Laurel Bungalow is a dog friendly, non-smoking property. This is a private residence, with a private pool, and not shared by other rental homes.

Great location to beaches! Many great restaurants with 30 minute radius. Close to downtown Venice! My husband and kids had a blast fishing on the beach and combing the beaches for shark teeth. The pool and outdoor patio setup was outstanding! We loved the outdoor shower, great touch after a long day at the beach. We also enjoyed a trip to legoland for the day!

Such a unique home in so many ways. Design, outdoor space and decor. Each interior room stylistically seemed different from the rest. Fun knickknacks had me smiling and lingering in some rooms. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Venice Florida home!

We enjoyed everything about this home! Convenient location! Our dogs loved chasing the lizards! The pool was perfect! Great covered outdoor space. Great porch with comfortable swing chairs. We were very comfortable for our 2 week stay!

We checked in 5/30/25 and checked out 6/6/25. We had an amazing time with our 4 granddaughters and dog. We have stayed in this area many times before, however this is now our most favorite rental. That is saying a lot as we have been renting vacation properties for 50 years. As good as the pictures are, the property is even better in person. We will defiantly be staying here again. It is close to all the things we love to do in Florida and the home exceeded our expectations.

Great property for our family

Neighborhood was in a great location for us to be close to all the attractions in Venice, our extended family in sarasota, and a boat ramp. The home was very clean with all the kitchen utensils you would ever need, and the appliances were very nice. The pool and the outdoor area is set up perfect with great furniture and cooking area. We really could not have asked for a better place to stay , and we already booked another stay for next year.

Second stay this year!

Loved this house so much! Luckily it was available for a return trip. Every area of this home is so very nice. My husband and I stayed in the pool house this week, loved the privacy which allowed our son and family to stretch out in the house. Pool area, outdoor kitchen with large table and ample seating was the perfect for wonderful family memories. Great communication and help from hosts when needed! Hope to stay again! Beth & Mark

Tropical retreat!

The details put into this place is outstanding! Beautiful pool and lounging area with an outdoor TV and shower! Very clean. Side porch was great for the dogs to go potty and relax when bugs got bad. We even played Scrabble that was on the porch table! My son and girlfriend stayed in the pool house, and we watched some basketball in there after dinner one night. Huge theatre setting in pool house! Fabulous! We never showered inside! Great tropical retreat close to town and beaches!

Family Vacation

This property was absolutely perfect! The online description is accurate and it was better than we could have imagined. The location is great and close to anything you will need, so convenient. The backyard is fantastic, everyone LOVED the pool and we spent most of our time back there. The outdoor shower is a great bonus and I was not expecting to use it as much as I did. So much easier to use that before and after the pool. My husband and kids have already said that we need to stay here for our next vacation! Oh, and the fact we could bring our dog was so appreciated. As my daughter would say, "we give this house 1000 out of 10!". Thank you for being so easy to work with Edie and Greg!!

Perfect for our quiet vacation!

The house is so beautiful with lots of big windows! Comfortable inside - everything you could possibly need. The office was perfect since my husband had to work a few days (it’s 100x better than his office at home!) There are two fenced in yards which were perfect for our two Labradors! The outdoor space is the cherry on top! I enjoyed grilling burgers & dogs, and using the Green Egg smoker for the first time to smoke baby back ribs and a pork shoulder. With some expert guidance from the host, my smoker experience was perfect! I love this outdoor kitchen and the sink makes for easy clean up. The outdoor lounging area around the fire table is so comfortable and a nice way to be outside but out of the sun. The TV outside is fantastic. The pool was so nice. The water was very warm however. But when I got out of the pool I felt cool and refreshed. Outdoor shower is amazing! We watched a movie in surround sound in the pool house one night! So fun! Excellent, outstanding vacation at this home!

THIS IS FLORIDA AT ITS FINEST

Looking for sun, fun and relaxation? Look no further than Laurel Bungalow. The outdoor area is an absolute Nirvana. Everything from the outdoor grilling area, ample outdoor seating area with overhead fans, and TV, is located under a large patio roof. The large fenced in yard contains a large saltwater pool, the covered patio, outdoor shower and a bungalow the features a home theater setting with surround sound 86" TV , and reclining theater chairs. The Murphy bed was an additional plus. The outdoor shower for us eliminated the use of the showers indoors. If you have dogs this place offers safety with completely fenced in backyard and side yard and greenspace to let dogs be dogs. An added plus is the house is a short distance from the only dog beach in Sarasota County. What more can I say about Laurel Bungalow is that it has everything that Florida offers for a memorable vacation. The hosts Greg and Edie are the most attentive and accommodating people. My husband, myself, and our dogs have found our vacation home for future visits to Florida. Thank-you Greg and Edie for your gracious hospitality. Skip & Milly LaRosa

Rest and Relaxation

Walking into this home you experience the artistic and creative elements that went into updating this home while being true to its bones. The furnishings were a blend of old and new elements that together worked well. The kitchen had everything you needed to prepare meals at home and the quality of the dishware and drink-ware, pots and pans and overall organization was thoughtfully included. A very large washer and dryer worked well and was appreciated. The outside was a true haven where we spent most of our time. Plenty of seating and outdoor eating space for lounging and grilling. The pool is a beautiful element and the outdoor shower was used regularly versus indoor showers. Truly glorious to shower and look up and see blue skies and palm trees! The backyard is an oasis and a big selling point. The separate poolside room served as a private bedroom that was an added bonus; but realize that it doesn't have its own bathroom. Both bathrooms are located inside the main house. Large screen TVs abound, but we aren't big TV watchers, but for those that are, there are 3 that will likely exceed your needs. We did appreciate the separate office for remote working that was bright and made the room lovely to be in. The screened in porch was another nice added feature and we often had dinner out there and was another nice place for the dogs to look out to the road and enjoy the cool floor. The pictures on the website indeed reflect the home. We had selected this home because of it being pet friendly, and our dogs adjusted quickly to the space and we appreciated the private fenced-in backyard and side yard. The home is situated in a residential area 1 mile east of Venice. One can walk into town over the bridge. We had bikes and took advantage of the Legacy bike trail and all the bike friendly roads on Venice Island. The owners were an absolute delight to work with. Extremely responsive!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

Love Laurel Bungalow. It is adorable, comfortable, and loved our stay. The furniture is not only cute, it is very comfortable. Our beds were so comfortable, and the room was roomy. Everyone who came to visit loved it. I loved having coffee on the screen porch, swimming in the pool, and the outdoor shower!! The Hosts were wonderful!

We both grew up in Venice, know the area extremely well and spent a considerable amount of time choosing the perfect "fixer upper" to scratch our itch for remodeling homes. In 2014, when we found Laurel Bungalow it was a no brainer, with its 1950's charm, ideal location and space for expansion, this was a perfect fit for us. Our vision was to create a home space where we would never have to leave or go on vacation because home FELT like vacation. The home has been completely remodeled and updated with all the creature comforts while preserving its simple, original charm. The backyard has been designed with care; ideal for morning coffee, pool gatherings, outdoor dinners with friends, football watching from the pool, sipping wine while the sun sets and just about every scenario you could envision. We added the pool, covered patio with outdoor kitchen and t.v., detached garage and pool house (personally used for guests w/ a luxury Murphy bed) and our very own home theater with reclining seats and 86" TV!
