Southern Sunsets is conveniently located on Destin Harbor, which means the water will be your backyard. Downtown Destin is two and a half miles away for all the different dining options and entertainment. Half a mile down the road from your retreat is an access point to the beach where you can sink your toes in the white sand and work on your tan. Harbor Walk offers a plethora of dining options if you truly don't feel like cooking. For a fun-filled day, Big Kahuna's Water & Adventure Park is only two miles away. Destin Commons, an open-air shopping center and a multiplex, is five miles away. Outdoor enthusiasts can visit The Destin Harbor Boardwalk (three and a half miles) where they'll find jet ski rentals, parasailing, scuba and snorkeling, and dolphin tours.

When we arrived, the door code did not work. Thankfully this was quickly resolved. Property needed a deep cleaning. Dirty carpet and furniture. Worn/faded furniture. No working lights in primary bedroom. Ceiling leaked when it rained on our second day. Smelled of mold/mildew upon entry. The company did some cleaning after I gave feedback. However, it should have never been in this type of condition.

Not for me

I’ve already messaged about the cleanliness of the home and most of it was addressed. The kitchen was the nicest part of the home. I liked that there were televisions in all rooms. None of the lights worked in the primary bedroom. The home had stained and worn furniture and carpet. The smell of mildew was overwhelming upon arrival. There are at least 3 leaks in the bunk bed room. A good deep cleaning, new furniture, and just a little extra TLC would make this a more quaint and welcoming property. The pictures are accurate of what the areas look like and there were plenty of extra towels available. Usually there are courtesy dishwasher tabs/detergent and a sample pack of laundry detergent. I found it odd that a request to do laundry and dishes was advised at checkout but nothing to use was available to do so. This was my first time booking with this agency and I don’t see myself booking again. Also there is a broken lamp just sitting in the second bedroom’s closet.
