Spend your Black Hills Vacation in one of the area's most beautiful log homes! Situated among pines and a creek front meadow our cabin has easy access in and out....perfect for motorcycles and ATV's. Boxelder Creek Lodge is centrally located between Rapid City, Sturgis, Deadwood and Hill City. Area attractions include: Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments, Needles Highway, Pactola Reservoir and Sheridan Lake, Wonderland Cave, historical towns of Nemo, Rochford, Deadwood, Keystone as well as Devil's Tower. ATVers and snowmobilers will find miles and miles of beautiful and rugged Forest Service trails with some of the best scenery anywhere in the world! Motorcyclists will find some of the best riding anywhere with Nemo Road, Vanocker Canyon, Hwy 385 and Spearfish Canyon all nearby. Fisherman can catch trout right out the front door as Boxelder creek flows right through the property. After an exciting day....relax on one of the 2 large decks and enjoy the serenity of the Black Hills.....wait until you see the stars!! Two security cameras are on the property, one aimed at the front steps and driveway and the second aimed at the back steps. Camera's are for security surveillance while the property is not occupied. The cameras will not be operational during your stay.

Cabin was a great location to trails and sightseeing destinations. Beds and bedding were super comfy. It is October and they have cluster flies and there was a lot of dead flies in thw living area by the big windows and on the counter tops we had to clean up when we got there. Be aware garage is not included, we had anticipated it would be but there is plenty of space for parking. We got there on a 90 deg day and there is no AC, luckily a cold front came through.

Beautiful log home! We had everything we needed for our family of five. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and being able to hear the nearby stream. An easy drive from Rapid City. We hope to return to this area again!

Great location

Perfect place for my famiy of 5 to stay- it was only about 5 miles down the road from our family's property. Very clean with great check-in and check-out instructions. My 14 and 12 year old boys got on the floor and played with the lincoln logs like they were little again... it was great. Thanks and we will return to this home in the future!

Family vacation

These was a beautiful place to stay. After all the site seeing we did it was nice to come back to the cabin and relax. Did do some cooking, everything right there. Would diffently do this again

Property was lovely. Always saw deer in the meadow — sitting on porch was very relaxing! My nephew who 30 and autistic loved straying in “the cabin in the woods”!

Peaceful Cabin

We had 4 adults and 2 babies (2 and under) stay for a long weekend. We loved the cozy fireplace, quiet, and outdoor space to have a fire and roam around. It's a bit off the main road and you can tell - very peaceful! Only complaint is there was no dishwasher.

Beautiful property

The cabin was smaller than I expected, but roomy enough for 8 people. Everything was pretty much exactly as described. There is no AC, which wasnt an issue when we stayed in early June. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would do it again.

Great place to get away from it all!

We enjoyed our stay with our adult kids and their spouses. The Black Hills are a great place to see beautiful scenery and get away from all the craziness out there! We would have enjoyed having another bathroom for the 6 of us staying there but not a big hardship. The house gave a nice woodsy feel and fireplace was very enjoyable! We did miss having a dishwasher but survived it fine.

Spring Break Getaway

Jeff was great and his home was amazing! The kitchen had everything needed to make our meals and the beds were comfy. We loved waking up to the sun shining through the windows that overlooked the Hills. Snowmobiling. Snowshoeing. March Madness in Deadwood. A little family time before the kids headed back to college. A perfect spring break getaway!

Will not disapoint!

Perfect place to celebrate our 40th Anniversary! Beautiful house, very clean well equipped with everything we needed! Jeff is a super host for sure! Had a bit of a snow storm the 4th day of our stay. He kept checking with us to make sure all was good! Perfect location! We did Spearfish Canyon, Sturgis, Badlands, Custer and of course Mount Rushmore. Never more than 45 minutes or so to them all! The deer are wonderful. We watched 3 deer chasing each other playing in the meadow out the kitchen window. We are from Florida, so we definitely loved watching the snow fall! Oh and I can't forget the stars! We would lay on the deck and just be in total awe! Thank you Jeff for sharing your awesome house, we had such a great adventure in South Dakota!

Great House, Be Wary of Snow

Was a great house, no complaints about the house itself. Was clean and the listing accurately describes the house. We visited during spring break (March) and decided to stay here to visit Mount Rushmore and the location was fine in relation to the national park as well as Custer Park. There was no cell service here for both AT&T and Verizon, but the WiFi provided by the owner was robust.Our only problem happened when we got unforeseen snow came down overnight before we were leaving. We're from the Chicago area so a little snow never scared us. However, the combination of a gravel driveway and a steep bump to get out had us stuck. On top of that the street leading out was on a hill too, so the driveway was just the fist hurdle. AAA refused to come out, fearing their tow truck would get stuck in those conditions as well. Luckily the cleaning lady stopped by and asked her husband to come help us out. He luckily was able to come out with his treaded bobcat with a plow attachment and a pull harness. He both had to pull us out as well as plow the area at the top of the driveway and the street. If not for him, we would have been completely stuck. When we thanked him he said that it wasn't the first time. For this reason, I would highly encourage you to be careful about booking this location when there is even a remote possibility of snow unless you have a truck that is used to these conditions. Under any other conditions, this location was lovely and we would recommend.

Great location, nice cabin, comfortable beds.Need some cleaning touches like carpet and stove but overall I will highly recommend this place. My family enjoyed!!!
