Above and Beyond Expectations

What a wonderful host and property. Very family oriented and had all kinds of toys and games. This house had everything and more that we needed for our 9 day stay. Great place to stay to tour Zion. Will definitely come back.

This house (and the host) was the absolute best. So many small touches that made this vacation a true home away from home for our family. This house has everything. We didn’t want for a thing during our stay. Everything was immaculate and the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. State Park right out your back door and we loved the hot tub after a long day of hiking Zion.

The Ultimate Home Base Away From Home - Hot Tub - 23 min to Zion NP

This property was truly amazing and comfortable. It was wonderfully stocked for all of our needs and it was so organized. We enjoyed the hot tub after our days of hiking in Zion, brushed up on our blackjack skills at the dining room table, and relaxed with a good show in the living room. There were thoughtful touches for guests throughout the home. It was very comfortable and the artwork was truly amazing. Stores and restaurants were nearby. The host's online guide was extremely helpful. Our family made many forever memories, and we would definitely stay here again.

A true Home away from home

What an awesome experience staying at this perfect vacation rental. Our host, De Anna, was so gracious and thought of everything we could possibly ever need. We felt so taken care of. Every single inch of our rental was so well thought out and planned. De Anna literally thinks of everything! Wonderful art on the walls, spacious backyard and patio with lounge, and the most perfect well laid out kitchen that should have its own recognition. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you!

THIS HOME WAS A TRAVELERS DREAM AND INCLUDED EVERYTHING YOU COULD HELP YOU IN A NATIONAL PARK VACATION FROM A WALKING STICK TO A HOT TUB TO SOOTH THE LEG MUSCLES. THIS HOME INCLUDED A WELL STOCKED KITCHEN FOR FAMILY MEALS AND EVERYTHING YOU MAY HAVE FORGOTTON TO HELP YOU ENJOY THOSE FAMILY NIGHTS. Even Better Than the First Time!

After staying at this unforgettable house in December and absolutely loving the place, we were eager to return and did last week for 5 days! This time our family joined us and everyone was just as thrilled with the house as we were the first time. It is spacious, clean, cozy, modern, and in a great location. This time we hiked the Confluence Park Trail that you can access right from the backyard of the house. How awesome is that?! Our relatives hiked Bryce and Zion canyon and really appreciated the guidebooks provided by the host that they used to map out their hikes. We played the musical instruments at the house, cooked family meals in the large and easy to find everything kitchen, used BBQ and hung out on the peaceful patio. We also used the hot tub every night and gazed up at the stars. Again our dog loved the yard and the park across the street. The neighborhood is quiet and the town is central to some many destinations. The bed was super comfortable and the closets are big and there is literally everything you need. The garage is also so clean and big. Last but not least, the host De Anna gives A+ service. You just know how much she cares. We will be back again and again. This place made our trip AGAIN!

Luxury in LaVerkin

Zion Family Retreat is an outstanding property. The owner has left no stone unturned. The guidebook that comes with the listing is the most well thought out and comprehensive information that any guest would want. The home is welcoming and pristine - beautifully decorated throughout - so many extra touches. It is well suited for all age children and offers plenty of activities to enjoy. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the variety of musical instruments and we enjoyed game playing nightly. Everything is labeled and instructions for check in and out, etc. are explicitly laid out. The artwork throughout is beautiful and many creative quotes as well as plenty of reading material. It was an amazing week - we felt so much at home and will look forward to visiting again!

5 stars isn't enough for this gem!

This home is phenomenal and made our stay in Utah unforgettable. My husband and I came to Utah from Southern California to visit our daughter, son-in-law and 6 month old son. They live in Springdale, a short and easy 20 min drive from this house, which made it the perfect location for us. The house is incredibly cozy - you feel like you are in your own home. Every room/area of the home was clean and spotless (refrigerator, bathrooms, bedrooms, closets, and garage just to name a few). There is every amenity you need in this stylish home and they all work perfectly and are modern and clean (e.g., kitchen appliances from air fryer, toaster, blender, coffee makers, pressure cooker, etc., as well as sunken tub in the primary bathroom). The backyard was perfect, especially for our golden retriever. He was easily able to use the backyard to get some exercise and hang out. The backyard also has a spacious sitting area, firepit/firepit sitting area, an area to play corn hole and other games (which the host also supplies!), and a warm and inviting hot tub! Beautiful artwork is hung throughout the home that gives it a super warm vibe. We couldn't have asked for a better host - De Anna. She is so responsive, clear, helpful, pleasant, and professional. You can really feel the effort she has put into making the home so lovely for every guest. The neighborhood park across the street was also perfect. We will come back to this home over and over again. Wonderful experience!

Perfect get away property

We were very impressed with our stay. We wanted a house that was close to Zion and Bryce and this was a half hour from Zion and 2 hours from Bryce which was a nice middle point. We drove in from Vegas and it was a scenic 2 hour drive. The house was very clean and organized. Everthing was labeled as far as cabinets and drawers, and appliances had directions printed. My wife was impressed by the amount of supplies that were stocked, like sugar, coffee, laundry supplies, etc. Furniture was updated and clean. Our favorite part was the hot tub, which was essential after hiking most of the day. The back yard is quiet and well maintained and offered a mountain view from the hot tub. De Anna was a pleasure to work with from setting up door codes to checking on us mid stay to make sure everything was good. Check in/check out was made simple with her directions. We will definitely be returning to this property in the future, it was one of the best vacation rentals we have used.

Amazing House!!

The awesomeness of this house is incredible! Anything you could imagine is available inside this place. The layout is perfect! DeAnn was spot on with communication. Super helpful guidebook

We are ready to nominate DeAnna for Best VRBO Host. The house is well represented by the photos and the comments of others about how well it is equipped are right on. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we perused the helpful guidebook each day for places in Zion and Bryce to visit. This property was AMAZING. I feel bad that I can't rate this higher than 5 stars. It was comfortable and fully stocked with everything. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here. One-in-a-million home!

Over the last 18 years, my family and I have stayed in 16 vocation rental homes in Colorado, New Mexico, Washington, and/or Utah in all four seasons. Some of these rentals have been dismal, some okay, some great but never exceptional until the Zion Friends and Family Retreat home! This home and its owners truly deserve the 5 star ratings left by previous tenants and, now, us! I encourage you to read the reviews because I agree with them and all the details listed. And so does my family. As we were packing up to leave, my 36-year-old adult daughter said, “This is the nicest home we have ever stayed in. It had everything.” The hostess was stellar - excellent, clear, immediate communication via VRBO as well as in a detailed information book. Loved the access to the garage (a rarity with home rentals), to the park across the street, to the toys and books for children (the adults loved them, too), just to name a few. The home was spotless. The decor was beautiful. Everything worked. The beds and linens were top-notch. I’ve NEVER had a host provide the ‘little things’ like coolers and baggies, first aid kit, and labeling as well as ‘big things’ like generous amounts of kitchen, bath and bed linens, quality and huge selection of kitchen items. It was like being at home. I just wish the owners had a home for me to rent in all the future towns and cities my family wishes to visit!

Best house we have stayed at.

The house was exactly as stated and looked better in person. The decor was beautiful. The extras were awesome. They supplied us with tissues, toiletries and the kitchen had all household appliances you could want. Hot tub was used all but one night and was very much appreciated after hiking. Bedding and towels were soft. House had musical instruments and books, games, charging station. I cannot say enough about this place. Everything was so well marked also.

Great for family vacation.

The Basecamp in La Verkin was the nicest rental we have had through VRBO, and we've had some beauties. The hosts were amazingly organized with places labeled for what was inside and lists provided for anything you might need. The hosts provided musical instruments, games, puzzles, karaoke materials, and lots of books on various topics. we enjoyed using them all. I did miss having current news channels on the TV, but survived. The decor is outstanding with original artwork by DeAnna. The staff who stopped while we were in residence (Ivan and Katie) were very pleasant and helpful. We found the mattresses very comfortable while the pillows weren't as comfortable for a couple of the family members. We had ample dishes for our meals, but could have used a few small bowls for snacks or dips, etc. We would have liked some smaller non-breakable glasses, perhaps some nice acrylic glasses. Our sons and their children hiked every day they were with us. They were often so tired that we ended up eating in or going to RRR, River Rock Roasting. It is an excellent gem just up the road. We had an extremely tasty dinner at Spotted Dog in Springdale. We preferred Davis grocery store over Lin's and we got a special 50th birthday cake from Muddy Bees. They also have great sourdough bread. A wonderful trip, fabulous hosts and beautiful surroundings! The Basecamp reset the bar, very, very high. Definitely 5/5.

Great location to Zion

Perfect place to stay with a family of 8. Everyone said they loved the decor and relaxed vibe. Hot tub was great after a day of hiking. Highly recommend!

Awesome vacation and property.

Stayed here for a Zion family trip. La Verkin is a very small town but the location is perfect. Flew into Vegas and drove two hours to this place. Heard a lot of comments about the neighborhood but overall the area where the house is located felt safe and peaceful to me. You do drive through some houses with 4-5 cars and old junk in the front yard but thats it. Across from the house there’s a small park where my kids enjoyed playing. We traveled with 6 and 7 yo. House had everything we needed and everything was labeled nicely for easy use. Local supermarket super close to the house for any supplies you need. House was clean and the check in process was smooth. Girls enjoyed bunk beds, old school supernintendo, games, books, toys etc. Tons of board games, music instruments. Host is very responsive. Read the binder in the kitchen, has a lot of good info we actually used during our trip. Place is 18-20minute drive to Zion so you can get there early, beat the crowds, drive back home in the afternoon and do it again next day! Drive to Kolob canyon is less than 20 mins. You can go there on a clear night, let your eyes adjust and watch the milky way pop out. One hour from Kanab, two hours from Bryce, forty mins from Cedar breaks. If you have time on the way back to Vegas you can hit Valley of Fire in Nevada. Overall amazing family time and the property played a great role.

Travel is my passion! I've explored over 45 countries, 18 by bicycle – a fantastic way to experience different cultures! Zion National Park, one of my favorite nearby gems, is where you'll find my spouse and me conquering Angels Landing most Novembers (It's the best month to hike!). Some years we
walk the 500 mile/800 km Camino de Santiago in Spain!

For us, though, it's all about the location. Zion Friends & Family Retreat sits right on the edge of the peaceful Confluence Park, with a trailhead accessible from our backyard. We love starting our days with a walk through the park before the heat sets in. Sometimes, you might even find us enjoying a coffee and pastry on the patio at River Rock Roasting Company, a fantastic spot overlooking the park.
